Chapter 389 The Final Meeting

"Cough~ cough~"

Tony, who was unconscious, coughed violently, his body trembling slightly involuntarily, his throat burning with unbearable pain.

With these few coughs, he slowly opened his eyes, his gaze still reflecting the confusion and exhaustion he felt before losing consciousness.

"You're awake."

Seraph Usopp flung Tony to the ground without a second thought, as if he were throwing away a worthless object.

Tony crashed heavily onto the cold, hard ground. The pain made him groan, and it also brought him fully awake. He began to quickly observe his surroundings.

"Where am I?"

Tony was initially bewildered, his mind replaying the fierce battle before he was captured by the enemy, and he secretly groaned inwardly.

He immediately tried to contact Jarvis, but received no response, which gave him a sense of foreboding, as if he were trapped in a desperate situation with no one to turn to.

"How are you?"

Upon seeing this, Steve quickly stepped forward and helped Tony up, his eyes filled with concern and worry.

He scrutinized Tony, seemingly trying to find any signs of more serious injury.

"What happened?"

Steve looked dejected, his voice carrying a hint of helplessness and despair.

They were originally superheroes fighting to protect the world, but now they've fallen to this state, which fills him with a sense of defeat.

Tony probably guessed what was going on. He pursed his lips, said nothing, but his gaze became even more serious.

"Don't dawdle, the adults want to see you."

Seraph Hawkeye turned around, walked forward expressionlessly, and gestured for them to follow.

Tony and Steve exchanged a glance, both knowing without saying that they were in a very passive position.

I am at their mercy, like a fish on a chopping board; it seems I have no choice but to do as others tell me to do.

However, even in such a predicament, they did not give up and continued to gather intelligence about their surroundings discreetly.

Along their journey, they had already encountered at least four seraphim.

As Tony walked, he carefully observed the seraphim's every move, trying to find some clues from their behavior.

There was no apparent subordinate relationship between them, suggesting that their strengths were roughly equal.

These seraphim all shared the same unique physical characteristics: the same skin color, wings, and hair color, with magical flames burning behind their heads. All of this made Tony think that they must be a magical race.

What puzzled him most was that they all looked like children, which contrasted sharply with their formidable strength.

Tony silently organized this information in his mind and gradually came to a general conclusion, but he knew that this conclusion needed more evidence to support it.

On their journey, they also encountered several other seraphim.

[At this point, I hope readers will remember our domain name 12199.99]

Tony thought to himself: [As expected, these children are not natural, but man-made.]

A normal race should have both old and young, but these seraphim in front of us all look like children, and their combat experience is so rich, which is obviously not normal.

It's a weapon, a man-made weapon.

Tony was increasingly convinced that his deduction was correct: these seraphim were likely manufactured weapons of war.

Just as Tony was deep in thought.

"Da~ Da~"

A sudden burst of hurried footsteps interrupted his thoughts.

He looked in the direction of the sound and saw an old man with disheveled hair and a fanatical look in his eyes rushing towards him, panting heavily.

"So-and-so is the developer of the black armor!" Vegapunk shouted, his voice trembling slightly with excitement, his eyes fixed on Tony and Steve.

"Doctor." Upon seeing Vegapunk, the Seraphim immediately bowed respectfully to him, their attitude extremely devout.

Vegapunk holds a position in the hearts of the Seraphs second only to Wes, making him a highly influential figure.

"They're all good kids." Vegapunk waved casually, and after greeting them, he focused his attention on Tony.

Perhaps it was the unique charisma among scientists that drew them together; Vegapunk recognized Tony as an outstanding scientist simply from his armor.

"The scientists who were able to create such armor are truly remarkable."

Not a single mistake, not a single poem, not a single post, not a single piece of content, not a single look!

Vegapunk's eyes gleamed with excitement and admiration, as if he had seen a like-minded partner.

Tony looked at the strange old man and thought to himself, "Is this the Doctor Seraph was talking about?"

However, he also understood that now was not the time to dwell on this. The most urgent task was to figure out where he was and what these people's purpose was.

Seraph Sanji stepped forward, stopping the excited Vegapunk, and said softly, "The Doctor is waiting to see them."

"I see." Vegapunk's face showed a hint of regret. How much he longed to have an in-depth conversation with Tony right away.

Through Tony's armor, he was able to keenly judge that Tony had profound attainments in scientific research, and might even have surpassed him in some aspects.

He couldn't wait to share his research findings with Tony and explore the mysteries of science; however, Tony seemed to be Weiss's enemy, which left him feeling quite helpless.

"Don't worry, since Wes didn't order the Seraphim to kill you, he won't now. After you've met Wes, I'll show you around my research institute."

Vegapunk looked at Tony and sincerely comforted him.

There was a hint of friendliness in his eyes, which made Tony feel his goodwill.

Tony could also see that this was a simple scientist, whose heart was filled only with love and pursuit of science, and who did not have much malice.

Tony nodded to him and said, "I definitely will if I have the chance."

Although he said that, Tony knew in his heart that things were probably not that simple.

The journey was unimpeded. Tony and Steve followed the Seraphim, slowly ascending the winding stairs of the Mage Tower. The surrounding walls were covered with various mysterious and obscure runes, which occasionally flickered with a faint light.

Finally, they arrived at the top floor of the mage tower.

With a muffled creak, the heavy door slowly opened.

Seraph Hawkeye expressionlessly pushed the two inside. Then, the door slowly closed, the heavy sound echoing in the silent space, as if completely isolating them from the outside world, leaving only them and the figure sitting in the chair inside.

Wes sat quietly in his chair, his right hand lazily supporting his head, his eyes revealing an unfathomable depth.

He was dressed in a black robe embroidered with strange patterns in gold thread, which faintly emitted a light, making him appear even more mysterious and unpredictable in the somewhat dimly lit top-floor space.
