Chapter 4 The Fairy's Deal

Diagon Alley is undoubtedly the most bustling commercial street in the British wizarding world.

Many renowned top-tier brands in the magical world have established flagship stores here, showcasing their unique and captivating charm.

As always, the place was bustling with activity, presenting a vibrant and lively scene.

A group of young wizards, holding ice cream from Florin's Ice Cream Shop, their faces beaming with innocent smiles, chased and played with each other on the wide street.

Wes took a deep breath and sighed, "It really does feel more comfortable here."

Compared to the Marvel universe, Wes clearly feels a stronger sense of belonging to the Harry Potter world, so he chooses to stay in this fantastical world most of the time.

"We still have to exchange the gold for Galleons, and then we'll be exploited by those cunning goblins again."

Muttering to himself, Weiss made his way through the bustling crowd toward Gringotts.

The first door to Gringotts is a gleaming bronze gate, with several goblin guards dressed in scarlet and gold uniforms standing upright at the entrance.

Whenever a customer visits, they bow respectfully, demonstrating their professionalism and meticulousness.

The second door was silver, with a warning inscription prominently displayed on it:

Diagon Alley

Please come in, stranger, but be careful.

What will be the consequences of insatiable greed?

Unconditional demands and unearned gains

They will be subject to the most severe punishment.

Therefore, if you want to take from our underground vault

A fortune that never belonged to you.

Thief, you have been warned.

Beware that what you attract will not be treasure, but retribution.

Passing through this magnificent silver gate, you enter an incredibly spacious marble hall.

There were about a hundred fairies sitting behind a long counter, hurriedly recording various accounts in a thick ledger.

Some fairies were so focused on weighing the coins on a balance scale that they made sure the weight of each coin was accurate.

Some held eyepieces, carefully examining the quality and authenticity of the gemstones.

Inside this magnificent, massive white marble building, there is a busy yet orderly atmosphere everywhere.

"Well, well, look who's here."

A shrewd and capable-looking fairy wearing gold-rimmed glasses quickly rubbed her hands together, her face full of ingratiating smiles, and bowed deeply to Wes.

"Mr. Erwin, your visit always brings me joy."

"Augustine, all you welcome is the gold I brought."

Weiss mercilessly exposed his thoughts.

"It's all the same, Mr. Erwin, please come with me."

Augustine didn't take Weiss's bluntness to heart and continued to extend the invitation warmly.

Augustine then led Wes into a luxuriously decorated VIP room.

The servant skillfully filled the teacup with water and then left respectfully without saying a word.

"Mr. Erwin, let's begin," Augustine said impatiently.

"So eager?" Wes raised an eyebrow, appearing rather unhurried.

"There's a very true Muggle proverb: Time is money, Mr. Irwin," Augustine said, adjusting his glasses with a serious expression.

Wes calmly opened the suitcase, gently waved his wand, and instantly, golden bars flew out and were neatly stacked together.

"Oh! The smell of gold is so irresistible."

Augustine's eyes lit up instantly, and he said with a look of infatuation.

He quickly put on clean white gloves, took out a magic item shaped like a needle, and carefully placed it on the gold bar. In an instant, the magic item emitted a dazzling light.

"Fantastic! 99% pure gold, top-quality stuff!" Augustine exclaimed excitedly.

"The same as always." Wes took a sip of his black tea, then frowned and said with dissatisfaction, "Augustine, the quality of your tea is really terrible. I'm your VIP customer."

"Tea will quench your thirst. By the way, aren't you planning to deposit your money in Gringotts? I can get you a higher interest rate," Augustine continued to tempt.

"No need," Wes refused without hesitation. "I'll spend this money soon; I don't like saving money."

"What a pity." Augustine, seeing that his persuasion had failed, said no more.

Just then, several fairies laboriously carried in a huge balance scale.

"You fools, watch yourselves! If you break this treasure, I'll sell you all to the dark wizards!" Augustine shouted.

Upon hearing this, the fairies couldn't help but tremble, and their movements became even more cautious.

Weiss was already used to this situation.

Once the scales were placed securely, the fairies fled in a hurry, as if their lives depended on it, without even looking up.

With a slight turn of his wrist, Weiss caused the gold bars to come alive and fly swiftly into the tray on one side of the scale.

On the other side of the tray, weights appeared out of thin air one after another until the two sides finally reached a state of balance.

Immediately afterwards, a series of surprising numbers appeared on the scales.

Augustine deftly scribbled the numbers onto a carefully prepared contract: "Mr. Erwin, if you are sure there are no problems, please sign your name."

"A very fair price."

Without hesitation, Weiss picked up the pen and signed his name in a flourish.

Seeing this, Augustine snapped his fingers with a flourish, and the contract vanished without a trace.

Not a single mistake, not a single poem, not a single post, not a single piece of content, not a single look!

"plz follow me."

After Augustine finished speaking, he turned around without hesitation and led the way.

The two of them stepped into a slightly old-looking elevator, which then began to descend.

"Ding!"

The elevator doors slowly opened, revealing the deepest part of the underground world before them—undoubtedly the location of Gringotts vaults.

The place is filled with intricate mechanisms, countless magical lights flicker in and out, and mysterious cursed power surges in the shadows.

There is even a huge fire dragon guarding this place.

The fairies have always claimed that this is the safest place in the world.

Most wizards in the British wizarding world entrust their money here with peace of mind, including those from prestigious pure-blood families.

However, compared to others, Weiss still believes more in protecting his wealth through his own abilities.

The two then boarded a somewhat old-looking mine cart, and after a thrilling and exciting journey like a crazy roller coaster, they finally arrived outside the vault.

Next, they went through a series of complex and tedious verification processes, including but not limited to strict identity verification, meticulous contract verification, and precise magic verification.

Finally, Augustine carefully inserted the key into the lock.

"Click~"

"Click~"

The heavy sound of machinery turning slowly rose, and the complex and exquisite vault door opened automatically.

The experienced Wes quickly opened the suitcase.

Then, countless Galleons flew out of the vault like a tide and methodically entered Wes's suitcase.

As the last Galleon landed securely in the leather case, the vault door slowly closed.

After leaving Gringotts, Wes went on a massive shopping spree.

He first entered the Slag & Giggs Pharmacy, wandering among the dazzling array of shelves, carefully purchasing a wide variety of herbs and all sorts of precious materials.

Next, he went to a stationery store that sells ink and supplies. He carefully examined and selected items, eventually choosing high-grade parchment, superior ink, and an exquisitely crafted automatic quill pen.

After thoroughly ransacking Diagon Alley, Wes still looked unsatisfied, clearly not satisfied with the experience.

So, to avoid unnecessary trouble, Wes put on a mask and made some simple disguises before arriving at the mysterious and dangerous Knockdown Alley.

It's important to understand that Diagon Alley represents the bright and orderly side of the British magical world, while Knockturn Alley is its dark, chaotic, and lawless corner.

This place is a chaotic and murky place, teeming with elusive thieves, ruthless poachers, evil dark wizards, and even the infamous Death Eaters.

The items sold here are almost entirely those that violate the laws and ethical standards of the magical world, such as rare organs of protected magical creatures, dark magic tools imbued with evil power, and gruesome human remains.

Wes was very familiar with the area, and he easily found his way to "Bogin-Bock Magic Shop," searching the shop with great anticipation.

However, this time he was greatly disappointed.

There was nothing in the store that caught his eye or appealed to him.

Having money in hand but not being able to spend it is a painful and helpless thing.
