Chapter 5 Letters from Hogwarts

On the vast Scottish Highlands stands the majestic and mysterious ancient Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

This school, with its thousand-year history, is like a silent witness, having witnessed the rise and fall of the magical world in Britain and even the whole of Europe.

The current headmaster is Albus Dumbledore—a recipient of the Order of Merlin First Class, the founder of the Order of the Phoenix, and the Keeper of the Secrets.

At the same time, he is also the president of the International Federation of Magicians and the chief magician of Wizengamo.

He was extremely skilled in alchemy and transfiguration, reaching a level that was difficult for ordinary people to achieve.

In the vast field of magical theory research, he has also made significant and remarkable contributions through his wisdom and hard work.

However, if we were to discuss his most brilliant and outstanding achievements, it would undoubtedly be his defeat of two fearsome Dark Lords—Gellert Grindelwald and Voldemort.

For this reason, he is undisputedly recognized by the entire magical world as the greatest and most powerful wizard of his time.

However, at this moment, the nearly 110-year-old man was like a child who had accidentally done something wrong, obediently accepting the scolding.

"Is your head full of honey, Dumbledore!"

"That would be wonderful, Severus."

"Call me Professor Snape!"

"Yes, Snape."

With a smile, Dumbledore handed Snape a tempting lemon-orange candy and said kindly:

"Want to try a piece? This is something the Muggles made with great care; it tastes really good."

He was met with Snape's murderous, piercing gaze.

Dumbledore reluctantly took the candy back, muttering under his breath, "What a pity."

"Severus, why are you so opposed to Mr. Erwin teaching at Hogwarts? You took good care of him back then."

"Don't tell me you don't know what he did after graduation."

"Of course I know, Mr. Erwin is a wizard full of fearless adventure..."

"He frequently dealt with evil dark wizards, and breaking the law was as commonplace to him as drinking water."

"But we don't have concrete evidence to prove all of this..."

"This perfectly illustrates his extreme cunning, just like that one."

Dumbledore looked at Snape with sincere and earnest eyes.

You're overthinking it.

Snape pursed his lips tightly and remained silent.

"It seems neither of us can convince the other. Why don't I invite Mr. Erwin over so we can all ask him directly?"

Dumbledore acted swiftly, wielding a fine quill pen and writing a letter.

"I want to supervise the entire process."

"no problem."

Dumbledore then handed the envelope to an owl and gently opened the window.

The owl steadily carried the envelope in its beak, spread its wings, and flew away, disappearing into the distant horizon.

Weiss was engrossed in studying a paper.

That's a paper that Professor Minerva McGonagall recently published on deep analytical morphology.

It's important to know that Professor Minerva McGonagall, as one of the very few registered Animagus in the magical world, is undoubtedly a master of Transfiguration.

At this moment, Wes was completely immersed in the paper, as if he had fallen into a magical world from which he could not extricate himself.

So much so that they didn't even hear the series of banging sounds coming from the window.

Finally, Jandy hurriedly opened the window and carefully let the owl in.

The owl that had just entered flapped its wings angrily and hooted incessantly to express its strong dissatisfaction.

"Oh, keep your voice down, little thing. It wouldn't be good if you disturbed your master."

Jandi pulled out a handful of premium pet food.

As soon as the owl smelled the enticing aroma, it couldn't wait to go over and taste it.

After it had eaten and drunk its fill, it nuzzled affectionately against Jandy, then dropped the envelope, flapped its wings, and flew away.

Jandy quickly picked up the envelope, carefully read the signature, and respectfully handed it to Wes.

"Master, it's a letter from Hogwarts."

Wes, who was initially very annoyed by the interruption, suddenly lit up when he heard that the letter was from Hogwarts. He immediately dropped the paper in his hand and quickly tore open the envelope.

Mr. Wes Irwin

We are pleased that you have applied for the position of Professor of Magic Runes again. After careful consideration, we would like you to attend an interview in the Principal's Office at 10:00 AM tomorrow.

Wishing you all the best

Albus Dumbledore

"Oh! That's fantastic!" Wes exclaimed excitedly, his face beaming with barely suppressed joy. "Three years! Finally, a reply!"

"Congratulations, Master."

Jandy, a very dutiful house-elf, offered her heartfelt blessings to her owner.

"We must ensure that nothing goes wrong."

Wes's gaze was determined; he was determined to win this time.

At eight o'clock the next day, Wes stood in front of the mirror early and carefully examined himself.

The mirror reflected a sharp-featured, spirited young man with his hair meticulously combed, neat and tidy.

Not a single mistake, not a single poem, not a single post, not a single piece of content, not a single look!

His well-tailored robe perfectly accentuated his tall and slender figure, and coupled with his exceptionally handsome face, he exuded charm.

"How is it?" Wes asked expectantly.

"It's perfect, my master!"

A handsome smile crept onto Wes's lips as he picked up the briefcase beside him.

"Wait here patiently."

"Yes, Master."

When Wes arrived at Hogwarts at 9:30, he was greeted by Professor McGonagall.

Weston was somewhat flattered and quickly bowed deeply, saying, "It's been a long time, Professor McGonagall."

"Mr. Irwin, you've grown into an excellent young man," Professor McGonagall said with a gentle smile. "I never imagined that we would one day become colleagues."

"Ultimately, it depends on what Headmaster Dumbledore thinks," Wes said, looking somewhat embarrassed.

"You are a bright and clever child, and you have always performed exceptionally well in school. If Albus is still of sound mind and not confused, he should accept your application."

I hope everything is as you say.

"Mr. Erwin"

"Please call me Wes, Professor McGonagall."

"Okay, Wes. How does it feel to be back in school?"

A hint of emotion crossed Wes's face: "It's both familiar and strange. Back in my student days, I didn't really explore this mysterious castle properly; I spent all my time immersed in the library and studying magic."

"Yes, that's extremely impressive," Professor McGonagall said slowly. "No student has ever been as studious as you, even for someone from Ravenclaw. It's simply incredible."

Wes touched his nose somewhat embarrassedly.

"We professors were 'harassed' by you quite a bit back then."

Although she said that, Professor McGonagall actually took good care of a studious student like Wess and often gave him extra tutoring in private.

The same was true of the other professors; even the usually strict Professor Snape treated Wes differently.

"By the way, does Philius know about this?"

"Not yet. I want to tell him after everything is finalized."

As the two were talking, they unknowingly arrived at the 8th floor.

The enormous, hideously ugly stone beast guarding the principal's office suddenly spoke: "Password!"

"Toffee," Professor McGonagall replied calmly.

The stone beast obediently made way for the road.

Behind the stone beast was a slowly rotating automatic spiral staircase, at the top of which was the door to the principal's office.

It was a gleaming oak door, with a uniquely shaped brass door knocker in the form of a lion's body and an eagle's head.

As the two approached, the door slowly opened automatically.

Looking at the open door, Wes felt a little nervous.
