Chapter 49 Boarding the Pirate Ship

Faced with Wes's aggressive posture, Jack Sparrow's body trembled violently, as if he were being watched closely by a beast lurking in the shadows, a chill running down his spine to his head.

He instinctively pressed his hand tightly against his chest, where not only a compass was hidden, but also the key to his destiny.

Damn it, this wizard seems to know about the compass.

Jack Sparrow's mind raced like a windmill as he tried to find a way to get rid of Wes.

However, the reality is that the gap in strength between him and Wes is like an insurmountable chasm.

"Captain Sparrow?" Wes's voice rang out again.

Faced with Wes's urging, Jack Sparrow, after a fierce internal struggle, finally decided to temporarily give in.

A fawning smile quickly spread across his face, as if it were his most natural expression: "Of course, it would be my honor to serve the Wizard."

As he spoke, he bowed deeply to Wes, but a sly glint flashed in his eyes.

"A wise choice." Wes's lips curled into a satisfied smile. He knew this pirate captain wouldn't give in easily, but at least for now, he was willing to cooperate. "Come with me, gentlemen."

"Two people?" Jack Sparrow looked puzzled, as if he truly didn't understand Wes's meaning. "Besides me, who else?"

"Don't play dumb, Captain Sparrow." Wes's voice was steady and powerful. With a flick of his index finger, two orbs emitting mysterious light instantly entered the bodies of Jack Sparrow and Angelica.

"What is this?!" Jack Sparrow frantically slapped his body, as if it were crawling with disgusting insects.

He wanted to send that mysterious ball of light flying, but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't find it.

Angelica's face turned pale instantly. She thought of those terrifying witchcrafts, a power that could control life and death and distort reality.

Her face gradually lost its color, turning as white as a sheet of paper.

"It's just some constraints. You're a treacherous and cunning pirate. I don't believe you'll obediently take me to the Fountain of Youth."

Weiss's words were calm and indifferent, devoid of any emotional fluctuation.

"It's so heartbreaking, we're partners now..." Jack Sparrow's acting was superb; he wore a hurt expression on his face, as if he were truly a pitiful person who had been misunderstood.

But Wes remained unmoved, knowing that Jack Sparrow would slip away like a cunning fox at the slightest opportunity.

"You can try to betray me, but you'll have to bear the consequences." After saying this, Wes ignored Jack Sparrow and walked straight out of the tavern.

Jack Sparrow's lips twitched. He pulled Angelica, who hadn't yet reacted, along and quickly followed Wes's pace.

Soldiers were everywhere in the streets because of the riots caused by Jack Sparrow.

The soldiers checked the identity of everyone on the street, and opened fire on anyone who resisted.

Arrest warrants for Jack Sparrow began to be posted on the streets.

Jack Sparrow had just been worried that walking so casually down the street might get him caught.

But after a while, he realized that neither passersby nor soldiers seemed to see him.

He even circled around a soldier, who still ignored his presence.

[The power of magic?]

Jack Sparrow's apprehension towards Wes intensified. Angelica whispered to Jack Sparrow, "Even Father doesn't possess such witchcraft."

[Fulfill the agreement first, and find an opportunity to shake off this wizard along the way.]

Jack Sparrow is not one to be easily manipulated; he is a free pirate who will never allow himself to be controlled by others.

However, the most important thing now is to figure out what kind of witchcraft has been cast.

Jack Sparrow nimbly leaped to Wes's side, trying to glean some clues from the man's enigmatic smile. However, Wes's face remained as calm and undisturbed as a bottomless well.

The three arrived at a remote harbor where a few ships were scattered about. They looked somewhat dilapidated in the sunlight, with indelible marks of time and war on their hulls.

These are all pirate ships, former sea kings, now lying here quietly.

The British government has always turned a blind eye to these pirates, because the treasures they plundered would eventually flow into London's markets, and this would also weaken Spain's naval power.

"Which ship is the best..." Wes began.

"What?" Jack Sparrow didn't react for a moment until Wes's words interrupted his thoughts.

"Oh, the middle one, that ship has at least 16 18-pound cannons, and look at 'her' streamlined hull..."

Jack Sparrow was giving a long and detailed presentation, unaware that Wes had already boarded the pirate ship.

"Who goes there??" The pirates who remained on the pirate ship discovered Wes, this uninvited guest.

Pirates are usually not very good-tempered. One by one, they angrily drew their swords and charged at Wes, as if they wanted to tear him to pieces.

But before the pirates could get close to Wes, they were blasted away by an invisible force and fell into the sea.

The scene was like fallen leaves swept away by a gale, helpless and desolate.

"Looks like we have a ship now." Jack Sparrow stared in disbelief, his mouth agape, wide enough to fit an egg. "The wizard has a real knack for being a pirate."

Angelica felt that Wes was more dangerous than she had anticipated.

Not a single mistake, not a single poem, not a single post, not a single piece of content, not a single look!

By the time the two boarded the pirate ship, Wes had already cleaned up all the pirates on board and thrown them into the sea.

"At least leave some people behind; the three of us can't steer such a large ship."

Jack Sparrow began inspecting the ship's condition, touching and tapping here and there.

"It looks great, I just had it serviced."

He was satisfied with the ship; although it couldn't compare to his Black Pearl, it was a decent ship for the time being.

"That's good." Wes waved his hand, and the sails rose automatically, the huge sails billowing in the wind and making a whooshing sound.

The anchor rolled up automatically, and the whole ship seemed to come alive, ready to set sail on its own.

"Captain Sparrow..." Wes's voice roused Jack Sparrow from his reverie.

"What are the instructions?" Jack Sparrow snapped out of his daze.

"I'm leaving the helm to you."

"Of course!" Jack Sparrow came to the ship's wheel and gently stroked it, as if he were caressing his beloved treasure.

He jerked the rudder sharply, and the pirate ship sailed away from the harbor.

"How does it feel to be back at sea?"

"That's amazing!" Jack Sparrow closed his eyes in enjoyment, a look of pure bliss on his face.

The sea breeze caressed his face, seagulls cried in the sky, everything was so familiar, this was the life he longed for.

"It would be better without you," Jack Sparrow thought to himself.

"Then let's set off, first to White Hat Bay."

"Oh, don't be in such a hurry. Is this your first time at sea, Wizard?" Wes nodded.

"I just checked, there's nothing on this ship—no fresh water, no food, no rum," Jack Sparrow counted on his fingers. "My suggestion is to find a place to resupply and recruit some people. I don't think the wizard wants to clean up himself."

"No need for that." Wes snapped his fingers, and Jandy appeared before him.

"Good heavens!!" Angelica drew her sword and pointed it at Jandy. "What the hell is this thing?!"

Jack Sparrow stared wide-eyed at Jandy, who had suddenly appeared.

We're one person short of funding. Thank you everyone!
