Chapter 53 Fountain of Youth
Chapter 53 Fountain of Youth
The craftsmanship of these two Holy Grails was exquisite, and Wes held them in his hands to examine them carefully.
The cup is engraved with delicate patterns, which are like exquisite paintings, and every line reflects the artist's ingenuity.
The surface of the Holy Grail gleamed with a soft sheen, as dazzling as the twinkling stars in the night sky and as warm as the first rays of sunlight in the morning.
They may have appeared on many important occasions, witnessing countless moments of glory. Perhaps they even accompanied Juan Ponce de León on many adventurous journeys, enduring countless trials and tribulations.
Driven by his curiosity about the Holy Grail, Jack Sparrow immediately came over to take a look.
"You want it?" Wes asked.
Jack Sparrow shook his head slightly. Although he was full of curiosity about the Holy Grail, he knew very well that it was not something he could possess.
Seeing that Jack had no greed, Wes stopped teasing him.
Now that he has both the mermaid and the Holy Grail, the two key items, Wes begins to quietly plan his next move.
-
Jack Sparrow led the way, and the three of them slowly entered a cave.
However, when they entered the cave, they found nothing but stalactites of various shapes and a small pool.
Jack Sparrow carefully examined his compass, and began to wonder if there was something wrong with it.
After all, they had tracked them all the way here hoping to find more clues.
"The compass is working correctly; this is the location of the Fountain of Youth," Wes said slowly, looking at the inscription on the Holy Grail.
He read aloud the words inscribed on the Holy Grail, his voice echoing through the cave.
As the last sentence fell, the water inside the cave began to rise against gravity.
The small puddle of water seemed to be drawn by an invisible force, slowly rising until it gathered above the three people's heads into a floating pool, hanging there quietly without falling.
"Captain Sparrow, you have fulfilled your promise." With a wave of his hand, Wes sent two orbs of light detaching from Jack Sparrow and Angelica's bodies and quickly returning to Wes's hand.
Jack Sparrow and Angelica felt a wave of relief; with their restraints removed, their freedom was finally back.
Once free, Angelica reached out and grabbed Jack Sparrow, ready to leave with him; she had no desire to continue this dangerous adventure any longer.
However, Jack Sparrow was unwilling to leave just like that. At this moment, his mind was entirely on his Black Pearl. He knew that only with Wes's help could he regain his beloved ship.
"And my payment, wizard?" Jack Sparrow gently withdrew his hand, turned around, and asked Wes expectantly.
"No rush, Captain Sparrow," Wes replied calmly and confidently as he put away the Holy Grail. "The real show is yet to come."
"Could it be that Blackbeard is also heading this way?"
Instead of answering him directly, Wes leaped into the floating pool. Jack Sparrow hesitated for a moment, but quickly decided to follow Wes in, completely ignoring his girlfriend Angelica's pleas.
Angelica could only sigh helplessly. She didn't want to be alone there, so she followed Jack Sparrow and jumped into the floating pool.
When the two opened their eyes again, they found themselves in a place shrouded in mist.
The place didn't look spacious, at most able to accommodate a hundred people. Contrary to their expectations of a magnificent and glittering place, it was almost empty except for a few tall rock pillars.
The legendary Fountain of Youth looks just like ordinary clear water, flowing quietly without any ripples.
Wes took out the small bottle containing the mermaid and tapped it gently.
The bottle began to grow as if by magic, until it was as big as a small swimming pool.
The five mermaids inside returned to their original shapes, huddled together, and stared at Wes in fear.
Clearly, they were terrified by Wes's amazing magic.
"Elodie?!" Jack Sparrow recognized one of the mermaids at a glance, and he was very surprised.
"Jack, help us." When Elodie saw Jack, it was like finding a glimmer of hope; his arrival gave her hope.
"Jack?" Angelica looked at Jack Sparrow in disbelief. "You actually dated a fish?! What's going on in your head?!"
"Honey, let me explain," Jack Sparrow hurriedly tried to explain.
"Old woman, I'm not a fish," Elody retorted angrily.
"Who are you calling an old woman?" Angelica retorted, becoming even angrier.
"..."
"..."
Not a single mistake, not a single poem, not a single post, not a single piece of content, not a single look!
"Ladies," Jack Sparrow tried to calm his two "troublesome" friends, but no one paid him any attention; they kept bickering and wouldn't give him a chance to interject.
Left with no other option, Jack Sparrow fired a shot into the air. "Bang!" The gunshot echoed in the confined space. Angelica was startled and quickly drew her sword, cautiously scanning her surroundings. Elodie, meanwhile, hid in the water, too afraid to surface.
"Jack?!" Angelica realized that it was Jack Sparrow who was behind it and pointed her sword at his chest.
Jack Sparrow pushed away the sword pointed at him, turned to Wes, and bowed: "My lord wizard, could you...?"
"No," Wes replied coldly, without a trace of sympathy in his eyes.
"Look how beautiful they are. They're just poor girls," Jack Sparrow said, and the five mermaids also put on pitiful expressions, trying to evoke Wes's sympathy.
"Pity? Captain Sparrow, have you lost your mind? These mermaids aren't ordinary people." Wes wasn't fooled by their beauty. "They're just half-human, half-beast creatures; humans are just on their menu."
Seeing that their pleas were ineffective, the five mermaids had no choice but to abandon their disguise and reveal their sharp teeth.
Jack Sparrow wanted to say a few more words for his old flame, but Angelina stopped him, whispering, "Don't provoke him. He needs the mermaid's tears. At least we're safe for now."
Next, Wes cast a spell called the Nightmare Curse, a spell that can plunge a creature into its deepest fear; it is actually a form of illusion.
Under the spell's influence, the mermaids fell into nightmares, their fear causing them to shed tears. Wes collected all of these tears in a small, transparent bottle.
After they finished doing all this, a series of chaotic footsteps came, and a group of pirates who seemed to appear out of nowhere swarmed out and quickly surrounded them. It was Blackbeard and his men who appeared.
The black-bearded man stared greedily at the Fountain of Youth behind Wes, his eyes gleaming with burning desire. He drew his musket, pointed it directly at Wes, and said in a commanding tone, "Get out of the way, the Fountain of Youth is mine."
"Don't you even understand the principle of first come, first served?" Wes faced the gun pointed directly at him without backing down.
"Bang!" Without saying a word, the black-bearded man pulled the trigger, and the close-range gunshot made people's eardrums hurt.
