Chapter 17 Tracking
Chapter 17 Tracking
"Lawrence, Lawrence!"
The anxious shouts in his ears made Philip's eyelashes flutter. He had no choice but to move his body with some effort to convey that he was still alive.
A dozen seconds later, the strange sensations in his limbs and lungs subsided, and Philip opened his eyes, looking at old Neil, who was visibly relieved. Neil gently helped him up, muttering:
"Oh, thank goodness, you seem to be alright. You were unconscious for a full half minute."
Half, half a minute?
Philip's expression turned somewhat strange.
Old Neil noticed this and lightly patted his head with his palm, saying irritably, "If you continue to be unconscious even a little longer, who knows what kind of situation will arise after I report to Dunn."
"It's really strange. I've seen so many people take Sequence 9 potions, but only you have experienced such a serious problem as falling into a coma."
"Hehe." Philip chuckled awkwardly, scratching his head. "I don't know what happened either, but it seems like nothing's wrong now. Look, I feel great."
He raised his arm, spun around in place, and signaled to Old Neil to relax. If Dunn found out that this matter was easily out of control, his already somewhat damaged reputation could easily collapse.
Old Neil didn't speak, tapped his brow twice, then stared at Philip's body. "It's amazing. You solved the problem of spiritual dissipation so quickly. If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, I wouldn't be sure you're a newly promoted Extraordinary."
After a long silence, he nodded and continued:
"Alright, you're right. Strange things always happen with the occult. I was originally going to have you try clairvoyance, but to be on the safe side, let's just learn meditation to stabilize your state."
"I know how to do both of those things." Philip felt a little helpless, but dared not show it, and could only nod in agreement, "Okay, how do I do it?"
"Hmm, I'm not sure if you did that just now. Imagine an object in your mind and then replace it with something that doesn't exist in this world. That's how you enter a meditative state."
Oh, is that how it's done?
Philip, who had been full of confidence, paused for a moment. He thought for a while and came up with a compromise that would not cause any problems.
In the darkness where nothing could be seen, Philip gradually sketched out a tiny figure that looked exactly like himself. He then continued his efforts, trying to replace the tiny figure with an earthly appearance.
Using the familiarity from his memory, he successfully replicated it: a thin boy with black hair and black eyes, wearing glasses, and dressed in a frugal black and white style.
Having accomplished all of this, Old Neil's talk of entering a meditative state had actually succeeded. He felt his spirituality extending inch by inch, and all that remained was the final closing step.
However, at this moment, a dark red light suddenly appeared in Philip's little heart, as if something was about to burst forth.
This is the inescapable madness and desire within one's heart through the "prisoner" path.
But in the next moment, several chains tightly bound the little man's body and continuously exerted pressure inside, locking all the black and red light inside his body.
This is the Temperance school's meditation method.
Philip was relieved that nothing unusual happened this time. His consciousness returned, and he met Old Neil's gaze again. Seeing this, the other waved his hand and said, "Alright, you should go find Dunn."
Ugh, this is so troublesome.
But in the end, they've embarked on this path of no return.
Philip nodded slightly and left the alchemy room with Old Neil. When they arrived at the center of the crossroads, they found Klein and Dunn standing there, seemingly talking about something.
"Captain, what happened?"
Philip, who was walking ahead, quickened his pace and went up to ask.
The two men turned around. Klein chuckled twice, turned his head to look at Dunn, and only after the other nodded slightly did he speak: "I was followed on the way here and just came here through the secret passage of the church."
Ok? ? ?
Are you being hunted down too?
Philip refrained from saying it aloud, and instead frowned as he asked, "What are your plans now?"
"The captain told me to act as usual."
Klein did not hide this from anyone.
"Well, that shouldn't be a big problem." Just as Philip was about to take his leave, Dunn, who had been silent, stopped him and said calmly, "Mr. Slytherin, you can take a day off today to adjust to taking the potion."
Has Lawrence become an extraordinary one?
Upon hearing this, Klein instinctively turned to look at Philip, who nodded slightly in response to his gaze.
"I still don't know when I'll become an Extraordinary One," Klein sighed silently to himself, then returned to the road leading to the Church of St. Serena.
"Captain, will Klein be alright?"
As Klein walked away, Philip, out of kindness and concern, asked a question.
Dunn glanced at him sideways, a subtle scrutiny in his gray eyes. "Don't worry, in either case, at least the people tracking Klein won't take his life right now."
Not a single mistake, not a single poem, not a single post, not a single piece of content, not a single look!
"We'll deal with it after that."
Oh, I see. Then we don't need to worry about it.
Philip, who had been worried about his fellow countryman who was suspected of being a time traveler, stopped worrying and prepared to go home and rest properly, as Dunn had suggested.
I'll go buy some fresh vegetables while I'm at it.
However, he hadn't walked far when Dunn, who was also following behind, said, "I almost forgot something. Come with me to Iron Cross Street later."
Philip turned his head in surprise. "Why? Is there some kind of supernatural case involving Iron Cross Street? If so, I don't mind sleeping on the sofa in the reception room tonight."
Narcissus Street and Iron Cross Street are very close; his bad luck can't withstand any unexpected events.
"It's not that serious."
Dunn smiled, albeit slightly, a smile that clearly contradicted his usual serious demeanor: "I just think that as your colleague, Klein, perhaps you should lend a helping hand a little on the weekends, shouldn't you?"
"Huh?" Philip blinked, immediately realizing what was happening, his expression somewhat subtle. "But the Night Watch team shouldn't have much trouble handling this kind of thing; it's not really necessary."
"Use your relationships with your colleagues to find opportunities to help if needed. You know, it's crucial that this matter remains completely unknown to the general public."
Dunn's smile faded, gradually transforming into his familiar solemn demeanor: "We'll be closely following Klein later to track down the pursuers. We're bringing you along just in case; your abilities will come in handy at many times."
Is this what a holiday is like?
Philip's eyelids twitched, and he nodded somewhat stiffly.
Or does the other party's so-called adaptation to potion consumption mean directly using their abilities in battle?
He had nothing to say.
