Mystery: Starting from the Shadow World

Chapter 27 Entrusting Klein

Chapter 27 Entrusting Klein

In the evening, Philip was already seated at home.

After completing his occult course, he opened an account at the Backlundtingen branch and went to Zotland Street to complete the formalities just a few minutes before Mrs. Oriana left work, before rushing back to cook.

At this moment, Philip was leaning back on the sofa, lost in thought. Admiral, that unlucky kid, had also been sent back to his room after dinner to avoid a tragic incident of bleeding eyes.

"Speaking of which, it's about role-playing."

As he ate the last bag of muffins that Klein's sister had given him, he frowned in thought, feeling that what Emperor Rosell had written in his diary was so absurd to him, a "prisoner."

"The sleepless" can stay up all night, "the fortune teller" can tell fortunes for others, "the praiser" only praises the sun, but "the prisoner" is...

We can't really go to jail, can we?

"We can only think about the core now." Philip stroked his chin, pondering softly: "Prisoners, prisoners whose bodies are bound in cages, suppressing their desires, restraining their madness."

As Philip gradually deciphered the word "prisoner," he suddenly realized that the potion's digestion was progressing faster. Even though the feeling was so elusive and indescribable, its existence could not be denied.

That's way too fast.

As Philip felt the potion was nearly half digested, he suddenly had a sense of unreality. This was only the third day after he took the "Prisoner" potion. Even the fastest digestion in the Rose School, as far as he remembered, would take half a month!

They only used it for half a month.

What was it called again?

Philip covered his head, unable to find an answer, so he turned his attention back to the present moment.

He always felt as if he was being squeezed by some invisible hand, and he couldn't help but want to become stronger. But when he looked around, apart from the Rose School members who came to Ahova County with unknown goals, and the not-so-simple Antigonus Notebook, there didn't seem to be any other suspects.

After finishing the last pancake, Philip stood up, wiped his fingers with the toilet paper he carried with him, went back to his bedroom, took out a few grammar and mechanics books that he didn't need from the bookshelf, and then went out of his room to the neighboring No. 2 Narcissus Street.

It's not a good time to buy other gifts late at night, but you can't go empty-handed either. Klein is a history major, and his sister Melissa seems to be interested in steam and machinery, so she might like these things.

Boom!Boom!Boom!

Philip tapped lightly on the door, and a sound immediately rang out. A moment later, a dark-haired, brown-eyed girl opened the door, her eyes filled with doubt: "Excuse me, is this Mr. Slytherin?!"

When Melissa saw the book on steam and mechanics handed to her, she was clearly taken aback. Her slender fingers instinctively touched the bottom of the heavy book, and just as she was about to catch it, she reflexively wrapped her arms around it for added security.

"A few books, I hope you'll like them."

Upon hearing Philip's words, Melissa pursed her lips, then bowed while holding the book and said, "Thank you, I like it very much."

"That's good." Philip smiled, went into the room, and then asked, "Is Klein home now? I need to talk to him about something. Hmm, it's quite important."

Melissa glanced upstairs, then placed the book she was holding on the corner of the sofa. As she poured water for Philip, she said, "Please wait a moment, my brother just went into the bathroom."

"Okay." Philip nodded.

He picked up his cup, took a sip, and waited quietly.

Not long after, Klein came out of the bathroom and saw Philip sitting on the sofa downstairs. He was slightly surprised, but still greeted him with a smile, "Lawrence, good evening."

"Well, there are some things I'd like to discuss with you, about that book we mentioned before," Philip said, cutting to the chase.

Upon hearing this, Klein paused slightly, then turned to Melissa with an apologetic look. Melissa gave him a knowing gesture, picked up a few books, and went upstairs to her room, her demeanor revealing a hint of cheerfulness.

Watching his sister's figure disappear from sight as the room door closed, Klein turned his head and asked in a low voice:

"What happened to that notebook?"

"It's not simple at all," Philip said seriously.

Seemingly feeling that these four simple words weren't very convincing, he quickly added, "Remember that mysterious, unknown being I mentioned? Even He has paid some attention to this notebook."

Thump-thump-thump!

The shocking truth left Klein wide-eyed and stunned.

This was certainly not because of the Antigonus Notes provided by the other party, but because the so-called god that Lawrence spoke of was probably, perhaps, maybe, himself—himself!

Philip seemed to have anticipated this, patted Klein on the shoulder, and after Klein's emotions had calmed down a bit, he continued to comfort him, "Don't worry, there shouldn't be any major problems. After all, you have basically no connection with that notebook now."

"And there's more good news."

Not a single mistake, not a single poem, not a single post, not a single piece of content, not a single look!

Philip smiled. "That being has issued a commission to collect the diaries of Russell Gustav, our predecessor who was a time traveler. Once there are enough of them, we can use them to ask him questions."

"So, I'd like to ask you to help me collect this information. I also have a question to ask, but my resources are relatively limited, and it's not convenient for me to do many things lately."

Seeing Philip's serious expression, Klein's mouth opened slightly, and his hand, which had been raised at some point, pointed at the other person, trembling slightly.

You, you, you.

This is outrageous!

Klein managed to swallow those words, but he felt a strange stomachache, as if the world was playing a cruel joke on him.

Lawrence is "Temperance". I pulled him into the Gray Fog Space and he joined the Tarot Club. Now, because of my request, he asked me to collect his diary so he can ask me for a way to go home.

Klein felt very aggrieved.

It was extremely frustrating.

I felt not only frustrated, but also a little like crying.

Lawrence did nothing wrong throughout the entire process, and even under the pressure of the "Fool" persona, he genuinely tried to find a solution for himself.

He himself did not do anything wrong. Back in the Gray Fog Space, maintaining a mysterious image was undoubtedly a better choice. The commission to collect Russell's diary was also to create a positive cycle, thereby learning more secrets through this time traveler predecessor.

But why did it turn out this way?

Klein unconsciously covered his face with his hands, took a few deep breaths, and looked at Philip. Philip's serious expression, which also showed some joy for him, broke Klein's composure again, and he could only smile helplessly.

"Oh, that's great news."
