Chapter 34 is exhausting!

Rain fell from the sky, soaking Philip completely in just a few seconds. He calmly raised his gun, aimed at his opponent, and then pulled the trigger.

However, the tuxedo clown's agility and reaction speed far exceeded Philip's expectations. The moment the gunshot rang out, the opponent had already leaned back in a bizarre posture.

He stood on his tiptoes, knees extended forward, and leaned back at almost a 90-degree angle, yet he felt no tension whatsoever, as if his body were made of liquid, smooth and fluid.

Philip's expression changed slightly. He glanced at his revolver, where he still had five "Demon Hunter Bullets" left. If he used them all up, he could easily rush in for hand-to-hand combat when he reloaded, given the opponent's skill level.

If we were to run, with Elliott as a burden, I definitely wouldn't be able to outrun him.

If it really comes down to close combat, I'll have a very hard time keeping the notes. The only good news right now is that he's out of guns. Philip sighed inwardly, closed his eyes and let out a slight breath.

A short time passed.

In the quiet atmosphere, two more gunshots rang out. Philip pulled the trigger again, without making any unnecessary movements. The sudden firing gave the enemy almost no reaction time.

He didn't dodge the sharp piece of paper that the other party had fired, but instead let it graz his cheek, causing a few drops of bright red blood to flow from the cut.

The clown in the tuxedo clearly hadn't expected Philip to play such a trick. His exaggerated smile faltered slightly as a bullet narrowly grazed his left shoulder, leaving a dark red tear in his black suit.

Wow, that's some serious dodging!

Feeling the venomous gaze of the clown in front of him, Philip knew that with his current abilities, he probably couldn't defeat the other party using any legitimate means, so he turned his gun around and pointed it at the black-clad figure behind him who was wrapped in the notebook.

"Don't move!" he shouted, the gun pointed precisely at the ancient notebook. "Stop what you're doing, or I'll shoot and destroy this tattered notebook!"

"You!" The clown in the tuxedo, who had quickly adjusted his expression, froze again. His gaze involuntarily turned fierce, but a hint of unease and fear flashed in his eyes.

Judging from the expression on the man's face, he seemed unaware of the Antigonus Notebook!

Or perhaps, they simply don't care.

Could this notebook stop bullets?

The clown in the tuxedo didn't dare to make the slightest move, racking his brains. He had long forgotten about the wound on his shoulder. At this moment, he was thinking about this most crucial problem, but he couldn't come up with a solution for the time being.

Aside from idiots whose IQ is high enough to make a curly-haired baboon laugh, who would normally ask such a stupid question!

"This thing is actually that important?"

Philip, who had initially only been testing the waters, narrowed his eyes and smirked maliciously, saying, "Alright, I'll give you two choices. Will you just let your gunshot wound bleed to death, or will you choose to come back to the base with me and be killed by my teammates?"

The clown in the tuxedo didn't speak, but just stared intently at him, his fingers suddenly twitching twice.

"Understood." Philip smiled innocently, gave an OK sign, then took a regular bullet from his pocket and loaded the revolver.

boom!

Gunshots rang out, and the edge of the black vest covering Antigonus's notebook was pierced by bullet holes. This sudden commotion made the clown in the tuxedo, who had been clinging to a sliver of hope, dare not make any further attempts in this regard.

He dared not gamble.

Even if I die, the notebook must not be harmed.

Time passed slowly as the clown hesitated. He managed to avoid making any physical or facial movements, but the continuous heavy rain and the wound on his shoulder made him extremely anxious every second.

Finally, another drop of rain fell into the wound. The clown in the tuxedo, having gotten used to the pain, gritted his teeth and prepared to make a move.

But just as he began to act, a deep, gentle voice suddenly came from behind him, serene, sorrowful, yet captivating: "Ah, the threat of fear, the crimson hope!"

"At least one thing is true: this life is fleeting. One thing is true, everything else is a lie; after blooming once, one will depart from this world..."

The song echoed through the rain-soaked streets. Philip, already exhausted both mentally and physically, couldn't help but yawn, covering his mouth, but his gaze and the gun in his hand remained fixed on the target.

He squinted slightly, his eyes still wet with tears, and looked into the distance. He saw two familiar faces stepping down from a carriage:

Klein and Leonard!

Reinforcements! The reinforcements have finally arrived!

While Philip was moved, he did not let his guard down. He exchanged a barely perceptible glance with Klein across from him, and then the two of them fired their guns at the same time, hitting the tuxedo clown in the heart and chest.

The latter's eyes widened, and his arm was about to move slightly stiffly when Philip kindly fired a few more bullets at him, emptying the magazine again.

God knows what really happened this time.

What was supposed to be a perfectly good money-making commission suddenly turned into an encounter with a young man across the street who had transformed into a monster because of a broken laptop. After dealing with him, he ran into the Joker on the way back, which was really exhausting.

Klein and Leonard cautiously approached the clown in the tuxedo. After confirming he was dead, they asked Philip, "Lawrence, are you alright? Where's Elliott?"

Not a single mistake, not a single poem, not a single post, not a single piece of content, not a single look!

"A little tired," Philip said, twitching his eyelids and waving his hand with a sigh. He then pointed to a little boy hiding behind a pillar not far away, observing the scene. "200 pounds. No, Elliott is right there. The situation wasn't looking too good, so I had him hide here for the time being."

He briefly told Klein and Leonard what had just happened, but to his surprise, the two, who had been calm, were both stunned and stared at him in disbelief, as if they were looking at a monster.

"W-what are you doing?" Philip was a little nervous about the sudden situation.

Leonard's expression was strange. He adjusted the brim of his half-high silk hat and sighed softly, "Lawrence has to admit, even I envy your good luck. If you're not mistaken, that notebook is very likely the 'Antigonus Notebook'."

Klein nodded in deep agreement, then looked at the clown in the tuxedo lying on the ground and sighed, "If I had learned the necromancy ritual and brought the materials with me, I could verify it now."

"Don't worry, the captain should be able to tell the difference," Leonard said with a smile.

"That's true."

"Whatever." Philip didn't seem to care much about it. He'd touched the notebook, so be it; he was completely numb to it now.
