Chapter 35 The Murderer

Philip picked up the soaking wet black vest, then glanced at the suit jacket he had just thrown away, sighed, blinked, and as if remembering something, said to Klein:

"It's a pity you didn't use psychic abilities. If I remember correctly, the secret society has access to your 'diviner' pathway, and they might even be able to psychically discover the recipe for the future."

Klein was taken aback upon hearing this, then looked behind him and shook his head strangely, saying, "I am not a 'spirit medium.' I need to perform a ritual to communicate with spirits. I don't have the materials right now, and I'm not confident either."

He spoke calmly, but his heart felt like it was bleeding. He only wished that Ms. Daly could appear by his side right now and help him obtain information and formulas by using the tuxedo clown's incomplete spirituality.

Unfortunately, that's completely unrealistic.

Philip looked at Klein, who was holding an umbrella, then took out the Antigonus Notebook and handed it to him. "Here, take this. Don't get it wet, and don't look at it carelessly."

Leonard, who had only walked a few steps away, raised his hand as if to say something, but Klein had already taken the notebook.

The latter immediately froze on the spot.

In the few seconds it took Leonard to get close, Klein's bewildered gaze gradually regained focus. He covered his head and shook it gently. "Horner, Keith."

"What do you mean?"

Leonard frowned and asked, but to be on the safe side, he cautiously took the notebook from Klein's hand after obtaining his consent.

Klein blinked, his tense body relaxing as he said, "I heard it the instant I touched the notebook."

"You and this notebook are really destined to meet." Leonard said with a complicated expression, tucking the notebook under his arm. "Let's go. Lawrence's commission this time involves too many things. It's better to call the police sooner rather than later."

At that moment, the clown in the tuxedo also began to move; a ball of blue blood had somehow detached from his wrist.

Exceptional characteristics?

Philip's eyes flickered, a hint of greed rising in his heart, but he remained rational and did not act. Instead, he let Leonard step forward and put away the extraordinary properties of the tuxedo clown in a small silver box.

Even though Klein had some basic understanding of the extraordinary realm, he still lacked a concept of extraordinary characteristics, so he immediately asked:

"What is this?"

"Heh." Leonard chuckled faintly, not answering directly, but saying meaningfully, "The corpses of extraordinary beings always undergo certain changes. You'll get used to it eventually. Perhaps it's something extremely important? Who knows?"

That's extremely important.

Philip listened attentively, feigning calmness, and nodded slightly, adopting an expression of "I've learned something," while inwardly pondering: "Don't low-sequence official Beyonders know about the law of conservation of Beyond characteristics?"

That makes sense, since things could easily fall apart if it were exposed.

After recovering their extraordinary properties, the three walked along the road looking for the police. Unable to contain his curiosity, Philip asked the two beside him, "By the way, what are you doing here?"

If things had gone smoothly at the reception area, Klein and Captain Dunn should have been handling the missing persons case. Instead, Leonard took over, and they inexplicably bumped into each other.

Upon hearing this, Leonard and Klein exchanged glances. Leonard winked his left eye in cahoots, and Klein, after a two-second silence, also spoke up to explain:

"The boy in the morning was named Eric Brondy. Based on our deductions and investigations, his father, Joel, must have gone missing after going to the underground trading market at the Dragon Bar."

"Because we saw witnesses who said that Joel was following someone and then left the dragon to go somewhere else."

Philip stroked his chin. "So you followed the clues and ended up in this area?"

"That's right." Leonard shrugged. "But after arriving in this neighborhood, Klein's divination was interfered with and failed from beginning to end. Then we met you on the street."

"What a coincidence," Philip said in a low voice, his eyes slightly lowered, his emotions unreadable.

In a three-story building, Tyrell leaned against the window, reluctantly withdrawing his gaze from the battle outside. His crimson eyes gleamed with excitement. "It's so nostalgic. I was so weak back then, I really wanted to crush them all~"

"Boring." Jason's deadpan expression remained unchanged as he rubbed the table with his fingers, coldly commenting, "You're weak in my eyes right now. If you don't mind, I can beat you up."

"Besides, did that curly-haired baboon slap you in the head? Walking around here killing people like that, our biggest fear right now is that our target will escape!"

Thiel was speechless at these words, and could only snort, reluctantly sitting back in his chair, and muttering in protest, "Who told him to be so eager to follow me?"

"And who was it that couldn't resist the urge for blood and devoured that guy alive?! Hmph. After satisfying their desires, they've started putting on airs here!"

Not a single mistake, not a single poem, not a single post, not a single piece of content, not a single look!

Their sharp gazes met in the air, but they restrained themselves and looked away.

Not long after, the door was opened.

Steve strode into the room, his dark green eyes sweeping over the two men. He then adjusted his hat and said in a deep voice:

"News has come from Backlund that Marich and Sharon seem to have discovered our transfer and are now trying to completely escape our pursuit. We don't have enough manpower there."

bump--!

Upon hearing the news, "Werewolf" Tyrell and "Zombie" Jason immediately slammed their fists on the table and jumped to their feet, exclaiming excitedly, "Lord Steve, let's go! No matter what, we can't let those two get away!"

"I know, but this is ultimately the Mother Tree's mission." Steve's eyes narrowed slightly, his tone gradually shifting from deep to somewhat excited:

"So next, I will take the 'Crimson Crown' and secretly return to Backlund to set traps and eliminate them completely. At the very least, these outcasts of the Rose School must pay a heavy price!"

"Lord Steve, what about us?"

"You need to succeed within two months."

Steve looked at the astonished Tyrell and Jason, closed his eyes and took a few seconds to breathe steadily, then explained in as calm a tone as possible, "This has never happened before. The Mother Tree has sent down an oracle again, with the same request as before."

The gods have issued two identical divine decrees, which is tantamount to swallowing their pride and urging us on!

Tyre felt a tremor in his heart. He had been so confident that the only difficulty in solving the "prisoner" was finding him, but now he suddenly felt uncertain. His mind was already imagining the power struggles between the gods.

Is that Sequence 9 "prisoner" one of the other divine followers who are enemies of the Mother Tree?
