Chapter 35 Federal Parliament

Douluo Federation, Parliament

The Federal Parliament has 231 seats, or 231 members. Each member is elected from a different region. Some large cities will definitely have members, or even more than one, while smaller cities may not.

These 231 members make up the entire Federal Parliament, from whom 42 members of the Presidium are elected. The Presidium members decide on the day-to-day affairs of the Federal Parliament and can be considered permanent members. These 42 Presidium members include one Speaker, 15 Deputy Speakers, and 26 Commissioners.

They are the highest authority in the entire federation.

But as time went on, with the exchange of interests among various parties, different factions began to infiltrate the legislature. The original fairness and impartiality began to quietly change behind the scenes. Now, the final decision of the Federation has nothing to do with the people's vote; it depends entirely on which faction controls more seats.

These forces are divided into doves, hawks, and neutrals, depending on the objects they support.

The doves and neutrals are supported by Shrek Academy and Tang Sect, while the hawks are supported by Spirit Pagoda and Temple of War. The two sides have debated the issue countless times in the parliament, but each time they have maintained a balance, with neither side able to gain the upper hand.

However, this meeting of the Federal Parliament was to summarize and report on the special situations that have occurred in various parts of the Douluo Federation in recent days, and to make timely adjustments to policies.

It is said that this council was jointly organized by Yun Ming, Dean of Shrek Academy, Qian Gu Dongfeng, Tower Master of the Spirit Pagoda, Chen Xinjie, Hall Master of the War God Hall, and Duoqing Douluo of the Tang Sect. All major forces attached great importance to it, intending to share information.

The Speaker sat calmly in the main seat, his eyes slightly open as he glanced at the seats on either side. The opposition between the doves and hawks was a headache for him, but recently a future deity had suddenly appeared, throwing the Federation into chaos.

"Everyone, now that everyone is here, let's begin."

The speaker cleared his throat, his expression turning serious, and said in a deep voice, "Recently, several strange phenomena have appeared throughout the Federation. First, bizarre dreams. Second, the resurrection of the dead. Third, changes in martial spirits."

"Next, Councilor Meng Yanping will give a detailed introduction."

After the speaker finished speaking, he reverted to his aged and decrepit appearance and stepped aside.

A young, handsome man in a suit slowly walked out from the doves' seats. He quickly stepped forward, straightened his appearance, and operated the instruments on the control panel. The virtual projection was displayed directly in the center of the round table for all the members of parliament to observe.

The projection showed the contents of a dream: on the far north ice plains, shouts of battle shook the heavens as the Federation Legion fought desperately against the abyssal monsters, and finally, a blurry, enormous figure appeared.

Meng Yanping solemnly said, "I believe that some of you may have seen this scene in your dreams. According to the information we have collected, tens of thousands of people in Shrek City, East Sea City, Heaven Dou City, and major cities in the Federation have inexplicably become sleepy and have seen scenes in their dreams that are almost like premonitions of the future."

"Although the Federation is trying its best to find clues, we have no leads so far and we are still unable to stop the spread of dreams."

Just then, a hawkish congressman interrupted Meng Yanping, saying rudely, "Enough of this nonsense, let's get straight to the point. A deity named Wanye will be born in the future. How should we deal with him?"

No councilor was surprised by this statement. They had all received information, to varying degrees, about the existence of precognitive dreams, and how deities were sending dreams to humanity in the future to gain faith.

Meng Yanping, slightly dissatisfied, continued, "Besides, we believe that the birth of Wanye is related to the recent resurrection of the dead and the change in martial souls. Some people have witnessed corpses coming back to life, with blue faces and fangs, and bodies as strong as refined steel, which cannot be destroyed by ordinary soul-guided weapons. So far, we have not been able to capture any of the resurrected ones alive."

"The change of Martial Soul is of great importance. According to federal statistics, the probability of Martial Soul mutation among recently awakened Soul Masters is far higher than in the past. The strangest thing is that a very small number of exceptionally talented individuals can continue to cultivate and level up without needing Soul Rings, or rather, they are no longer able to absorb Soul Rings."

!!!

"Do you have any examples of the gifted individuals you mentioned?" someone stood up and asked in shock.

Meng Yanping replied calmly, "Yes, there is a boy named Tang Jun who has already joined Shrek Academy and is being personally mentored by the Dean of the Outer Court."

"."

Upon hearing Shrek Academy's announcement, the councilor who had just asked the question was instantly rendered speechless. Since the person had already been taken in by Shrek Academy, there was nothing that could be done.

"Furthermore, His Majesty the Dean of Shrek Academy, Lord Qingtian, wishes to convey a message to everyone in the Federation: This upheaval in the Myriad Industries was not his doing, but the Myriad Industries may be the best opportunity to break through the shackles of the Douluo Continent plane and reach the limit."

Upon hearing this, the entire room fell silent.

The members of parliament present all knew that this was not addressed to them, but to the forces behind them.

In today's world, there are countless Limit Douluos. Who among Qian Gu Dongfeng, Qian Gu Die Ting, Yun Ming, Chen Xinjie, Tangmen Cao Dezhi, Zang Xin, and the commanders of the Federation's various legions doesn't want to break through the limits and become a god?

But the meaning behind Yun Ming's release of this statement is rather intriguing.

It seems he can't control it.

The latest novel is first published here!

The members of Congress looked at each other, none of them daring to speak, waiting for the news to be relayed after the meeting, so that the important figures from all sides could make a decision on the matter.

Meng Yanping smiled slightly, satisfied with the effect of the meeting, and continued, "His Majesty Qingtian conveyed more than just these words. He also said that the emergence of Wanye has changed the laws of Douluo Continent, and it will only intensify in the future. This is just the beginning."

"He is an extraordinary deity, a monster; Your Majesty is more inclined to believe He is an evil god than a benevolent one."

Even among deities, there are distinctions between good and evil. Shrek Academy has records of one of the two gods of the Spirit Hall, a Rakshasa evil god, who lived 20,000 years ago.

No one can say for sure what a god will do after becoming a god. If he ascends to the God Realm like Tang San, the Sea God, and benefits the world, that's fine. But if he intends to kill, then probably no one will be able to stop him.

The speaker turned a blind eye and listened quietly to the news that was enough to shake the soul master world. Anyway, he wouldn't get any benefits. Shrek Academy, Spirit Pagoda, and Tang Sect were ultimately the mountains weighing on the Federation.

In a sense, it's not that they need the Federation, but that the Federation needs them.

"I'll just live one day at a time. If something big happens someday, I'll resign and let you fight it out," the speaker thought to himself.
