Chapter 171 Maserati
Chapter 171 Maserati
After resolving this minor issue, Sieg sent a message claiming that he had returned to the city. Zhang Ailun immediately instructed him to bring his men to the auto repair shop.
Soon, Sieg drove to Old Pick's auto repair shop and was surprised to find that it was full of his own people, all members of the Beggars' Sect.
"What happened? They stopped collecting cans and begging on the streets and started working here? Did you find them jobs? Do you know the owner here?"
"I bought this auto repair shop," Zhang Ailun said, crossing his legs.
"..."
Sieg fell silent after hearing this.
As expected of you, you've made a fortune again without making a sound.
"Boss, when can you help me invest in a gun shop?" Sig asked ingratiatingly.
"Once we finish this deal, we might have some money." Zhang Ailun stood up and waved, signaling them to follow him.
Upon reaching the second-floor office, Zhang Ailun closed the doors, windows, and turned off the lights. He then connected his phone to the computer and projector.
Sig and the others looked at each other, puzzled as to what this mysterious person was trying to do.
Zhang Ailun projected the downloaded photos onto the screen and said seriously, "Today we're going to retrieve a Maserati, a Chevrolet Camaro, and a black Corvette."
The group watched the projection on the screen, which showed several young white men with shifty eyes driving away in a silver-gray Maserati parked in an upscale neighborhood, into the underground parking garage on the second basement level. They were identified as members of the Silver Fox car theft team, numbering five or six in total.
Big B's gang consisted of several Black men, and Sieg vaguely recognized them. They seemed to be street thugs he'd met in the warehouse district of Tianlong Avenue; he hadn't expected them to be involved in car theft.
The Eagles are Mexicans who run a modification shop.
"These three cars are worth around $20 in total! If we can steal them from these three car-stealing gangs without them noticing, modify and repaint them, and sell them on the black market, we can make at least $18!"
"These cars are all half-dead fake zombie cars. The owners are all wealthy people in the rich neighborhood, but they are all temporarily locked up. They will be released soon after they pay bail. But there is no need to worry about the risks. By then, the cars will have already been sold."
"Also, there's a job involving robbing a jewelry store for free. Those guys hid the stolen jewelry on a rural ranch, worth at least $200,000! It's just a bit too far, outside our jurisdiction, so we can plan that later. Right now, the main thing is to get the vehicles back!"
Zhang Ailun zoomed in on the video taken from the jewelry store's perspective. Several people carrying black bags, masked, and holding AK-series guns were seen pulling the bolt back with their hands. Judging from their professional positioning and job assignments, they were clearly repeat offenders and ruthless bandits!
They then pulled up a random passerby's perspective of them fleeing in a van, with gun barrels pointing skyward and still firing blue sparks.
It doesn't look like an escape at all; it's unhurried and more like a professionally taken portrait!
"This is a big deal!!"
After Zhang Ailun finished speaking, the Beggars' Sect disciples also felt a surge of excitement.
"Those parking lots and warehouses are full of cameras, and there are people monitoring them. How can we get our cars back openly and legitimately?" Sieg glanced at them. This is not like vehicle recycling, where employers pay for and guarantee the retrieval of vehicles.
This is a classic case of double-crossing!
However, it is a high-risk, high-reward proposition.
It's incredibly profitable! As long as we can get the vehicle back, the full amount will be deposited into our account, and we'll become rich.
People are not rich without windfall, and horses are neither night nor fat.
"Don't worry, we can easily handle the camera issue."
Zhang Ailun sent Blitz a message, asking him to come here to meet up when he had time, as there was a professional task that required his help.
Another task was assigned to the team: first, to retrieve the most valuable Maserati Quattroporte and modify it, and then to transfer the vehicle from the black gangs and Mexican teams.
Blitz arrived shortly afterward. Upon learning that the mission required him to hack into communication devices and cameras, a task he considered a piece of cake, he readily agreed.
Zhang Ailun devised a plan, announced a temporary adjournment, and instructed everyone to prepare their equipment and proceed with the operation after dark.
Evening came quickly.
The night was dark and the wind was high.
Zhang Ailun and the others gathered, drove the Wrangler with Sieg and Blitz on board, and headed to the underground parking garage where the Maserati was parked.
Blitz calmly opened his laptop, wrote a program in the car, and connected via voice call to notify Bailey and Melvin's team, instructing them to keep watch there.
The underground parking garage is equipped with surveillance cameras that monitor the area around the clock. However, these cameras do not belong to the traffic management bureau or the police station; they were installed privately. This is also a private hideout for theft gangs, and the garage has clearly been abandoned for a long time.
There's not much development around here; there are rusty construction signs and many potholes in the road.
Zhang Ailun parked the car on the side of the road and waited for a moment. After a series of skillful operations, Blitz deciphered the code, and the camera was affected by signal interference and went out instantly.
"The camera is malfunctioning, they'll definitely send someone to check it. We only have five minutes to drive away unnoticed." Blitz looked at the location marker on the map; the criminal gang's apartment was only two blocks from the parking lot.
"Five minutes is enough," Zhang Ailun smiled. They had all the advantages—timing, location, and people—if they still couldn't handle it easily, they might as well retire and not even think about making this kind of money again!
After getting out of the car with Sieg, they swaggered into the underground garage without any hindrance, and with flashlights in hand, they quickly found the Maserati parked there all alone.
These guys are really unprofessional. They didn't even paint or modify the car. They just parked it here, probably thinking of selling it after things calm down.
Zhang Ailun circled the Maserati with the testing device, which emitted a series of beeping sounds. He then bent down and pulled a black locator from under the chassis. Those guys were indeed very cautious!
He handed the locator to Sieg, who took out a screwdriver, pried it open, unplugged the red wire connector, turned off the power, and put it in his pocket.
Zhang Ailun put his newfound knowledge to use, taking the crude and simple jammer Blitz had made, sticking it to the door handle, and adjusting it. The frequency band worked on the same principle as the remote control, and after two beeps, the car door unlocked, opening it with extreme ease.
"As expected of high technology, now you don't even need to connect the wiring to steal a car. You can just forge a car key and drive the car away."
Zhang Ailun couldn't help but marvel at how knowledge can change one's destiny.
Sieg took out the prepared spray and drew a black gang graffiti on the wall. Having framed the person, he returned to his car, satisfied.
Once Sieg got into the car, Zhang Ailun started the Maserati Quattroporte, reversed out of the parking space, and smoothly drove onto the road.
After getting out of the car, I got back into the Wrangler and gave Blitz a pleasant high-five. The whole process only took about three minutes.
What does it mean to be professional? This is what it means to be professional!
Sieg drove the vehicle behind the Wrangler, while Zhang Ailun drove the vehicle ahead to clear the way.
Blitz had already prepared a detour route in advance, and also planned a safe route. There was no need for risky operations like hacking into the Department of Transportation. After all, there are plenty of roads in Los Angeles without cameras, and some don't even have streetlights.
No sooner had Zhang Ailun left than the theft gang erupted in chaos.
They were drinking and partying in their dilapidated bungalow, celebrating their big success! They were sure to earn tens of thousands of dollars in a few days! Everyone would get a share!
As a result, the engineers in charge of monitoring the cameras saw that the screens on all the cameras suddenly turned into static, and not just one, but all of them.
I rubbed my eyes to make sure I wasn't seeing things, and I was startled.
Sensing something was wrong, he hurriedly notified his team members, who also noticed something was amiss. They quickly dropped their beer and rode their motorcycles erratically to the parking garage.
Looking at the empty underground parking garage, I instantly felt a bit overwhelmed.
"Fxxk! My car!!!" The team leader instantly transformed into a pale-skinned, red-faced brute. Veins bulged on his forehead, and he stomped his foot in anger, leaping three feet high.
"Which son of a bitch did this?! Why did this happen?!"
"Didn't you say that installing surveillance cameras here would be foolproof?" He turned around and blamed the technical staff on the team.
The engineer was also getting annoyed. "It's obvious! We've messed with a cybersecurity expert! He hacked into our backend system, and what could I do? I'm just an air conditioner repairman, and you insisted on inviting me to join your team to be in charge of communications security. This is just putting me in a difficult position!"
"Some people say you're an expert in internet technology! You've even won awards! Otherwise, why would I have invited you here?" the team leader said indignantly.
"Yes! But that was a third prize I won in a computer competition when I was in elementary school! And it was Tetris!" the engineer said irritably.
"The first two times were fine, weren't they? They went smoothly, so why did this happen this time?" The team leader was furious and couldn't understand.
"The last few times we did small deals of one or two thousand dollars, but this time we're getting cars from a wealthy area, it's a big deal worth tens of thousands of dollars, how can it be the same!"
The engineer said sarcastically, "I already told you! This kind of work is very risky! It's easy to get disconnected."
"But that rich man is already in jail for illegal operations. I attended the court hearing as a bystander. He won't be out for at least half a month. So who called the police?" The intelligence officer in the team was also very puzzled.
Soon, people noticed the graffiti on the wall.
"Was it those black guys from the warehouse district? Fxxk! I knew it was them! They're notorious for double-crossing! It's their fault for being black! This must have been done by one of their cronies!"
The team leader was furious. He immediately grabbed a baseball bat, got on his motorcycle, and prepared to take revenge on the other party!
"Boss, that's their territory. We should at least bring a gun, right?"
"I'm not going to fight them head-on! I'll just go over there and smash their windows! I'll puncture their motorcycle tires!" the team leader cursed.
"Boss, it might not be them. We don't usually have any business conflicts with them. Could it be another team?" someone advised the boss not to act impulsively and to avoid being scammed.
But the engineer's phone suddenly rang, and he quickly discovered that the locator was working.
He couldn't help but yell, "They did it! The vehicle was located in the warehouse area!"
Upon hearing this, the group didn't say anything more, angrily got on their motorcycles, twisted the throttle, and headed towards the warehouse area.
On the other side, Zhang Ailun took a long detour and spent more than ten minutes getting back to the old Pick Auto Repair Shop.
He parked the Wrangler on the side of the road and honked the horn twice. The Beggar Clan disciple responsible for waiting at the shop immediately opened the warehouse door, and Sieg drove the Maserati into the warehouse with a throttle.
On their very first day of business, their first luxury car drove back home without any risk or notice.
"Boss, how should we modify this car?" The Beggar Clan disciple looked at the Maserati, feeling a bit unsure where to begin.
"Make sure the modification is so that it doesn't look like the same car. Remove the license plate and throw it away. Find a scalper on the street to register a new license plate." Zhang Ailun instructed the Beggar Clan disciples to modify the car to look expensive so that it could be sold for a better price.
After stating his requirements, Zhang Ailun left the repair shop and returned to the Wrangler.
They drove to the next area, and had Sig turn on the locator to conduct a sting operation.
They soon arrived at the warehouse area on Tianlong Avenue, where Bailey was on guard. From a distance, they could see several black men smoking opium at the warehouse entrance. Perhaps they thought that security cameras were unreliable, so they didn't install any and relied on the most primitive method of manpower to take shifts and watch over the vehicle overnight.
To be honest, Lao Hei is quite honest. He clearly has a brain, but he just doesn't want to take any action.
Zhang Ailun pretended to be passing by, stopped on the street, picked up Bailey, and Sieg spat out the window, casually tossing the GPS tracker aside. He then sped away.
"Fxxk! What a bunch of rude guys! Spitting everywhere! And driving a Wrangler! These rich white bastards deserve to be beaten!"
A rather robust black man, speaking fluent West Coast rap, was filled with envy and jealousy.
He then turned to look at the tall, skinny Black man next to him, nicknamed "Stinky Leaf," and said, "How about I come over to your place after my shift ends, bro?"
"Get the hell out of here, you just want to fuck my sister." The black man cursed.
"Oh, don't be envious of me, buddy. Seriously, if you fixed up your loser hairstyle, maybe someone would want to talk to you. Guess what? Your ex-girlfriend even called me. As long as she doesn't mess around with that lawyer or that white guy, I think I'll get back together with her." Old Black was beaming.
Are you planning to take the postgraduate entrance exam?
"Fxxk you!"
"Fxxk you to!"
The two started hurling insults at each other.
Soon, motorcycles came from the end of the road, and the Silver Fox theft team found the location by following the GPS.
"This is it? Hey! Fxxk you! You're the ones who broke the rules and stole my car?"
Silver Fox got out of the car, grabbed a baseball bat, pointed it at the two black men's noses, and started cursing.
Old Hei was stunned for a moment, then became annoyed. "Where the hell did you come from, you idiot?!"
"Hey! Get out of our territory right now!"
The two sides confronted each other and soon began shoving and clashing. Although the two black men were physically strong and could fight back, they were no match for the many hands that could fight them. They were quickly pinned to the ground and given a good beating, their faces bruised and swollen, their heads still bulging. They sat on the ground, yelling angrily.
Zhang Ailun and the others sat in their Wranglers, turned off the engine, and parked by the roadside, watching this scene. They took out their phones, snapped a picture, and sent it to Simone.
Zhang Ailun: Your compatriots are suffering again.
Simone: ? Are you even human?
