Chapter 11.11: The Contract

Why is it that after a 100,000-year-old soul beast transforms into a human, it can automatically obtain soul rings of each level without needing to hunt other soul beasts, and even after being killed, it can still drop 100,000-year-old soul rings and soul bones like a normal soul beast?

But that's not the main problem!

The most bizarre thing is that since these 100,000-year-old soul beasts have already transformed into human form, why can their true forms still be seen through by experts above the Soul Douluo level?

It's probably difficult to explain the problem clearly by simply saying that it's in its infancy and hasn't yet entered the mature stage after level 70.

Luo's intuition told him that there must be some mysterious connection between them!

That's why he thought about how to lure Xiao Wu out so he could study her properly.

However, this is something to do tonight. Luo needs to go to the Spirit Hall to complete the contract before he can receive the subsidies he is entitled to.

By asking a passerby for directions, Luo quickly and successfully arrived at the Martial Soul Branch Hall in Notting City.

After clearly explaining his purpose to the gatekeeper, Luo was led to the reception hall by a guard, where he happened to run into Su Yuntao, the "Blind Douluo" who had awakened his martial soul before. Su Yuntao was talking face to face with an old man with white hair.

"Brother Su! What a coincidence, we meet again! I'm here to process the contract." Luo quietly walked up behind Su Yuntao and greeted him softly.

Upon hearing the sound, Su Yuntao turned around, and Luo's incomparably handsome face instantly came into view, making him immediately remember Luo's identity.

"Oh, I remember you. You're the young man from Holy Soul Village three months ago. If I'm not mistaken, your name is Luo, right?"

Su Yuntao smiled and nodded at Luo, then continued, "It's nice to see you again, Luo. You should be enrolled by now, right?"

Luo didn't say much, just nodded quietly. Then, Su Yuntao introduced the old man beside him.

"This is Master Matthew, who, like me, is also a Great Soul Master. You can call him Grandpa Matthew. Master Matthew will be in charge of processing your contract this time."

Luo bowed respectfully to Matthew and said politely, "Hello, Grandpa Matthew. My name is Luo, and I come from Holy Soul Village. Brother Su held the Martial Soul Awakening Ceremony for me."

Matthew looked to be over eighty years old. Seeing Luo's politeness, he was very pleased and couldn't help but reach out and touch Luo's hair.

Then, he cheerfully pulled Luo along towards his office, muttering to himself:

"Three months ago, Su Yuntao mentioned you to me. I never imagined that such an insignificant little Holy Soul Village could produce a genius like you. It's truly a blessing from His Holiness the Pope. I've been waiting for you to come and complete the contract these past few days, but I didn't expect you to only arrive today."

Upon arriving at the office, Matthew personally poured Luo a cup of tea and helped him sit in a comfortable chair. He then pulled a parchment from a pile of documents on his desk and handed it to Luo.

"This is the contract for joining our Spirit Hall. Once you sign this parchment, you must join our Spirit Hall and serve us no matter which city you are in after you turn eighteen."

Matthew explained the contents of the contract to Luo with a serious expression, explaining every clause and sentence clearly without any concealment.

"Before you become a first-ring Soul Master, you can go to the Spirit Hall every year to receive an extra five gold soul coins as a living allowance. After you reach the first ring, you can receive an extra fifty gold soul coins every year, and after the second ring, it's five hundred gold soul coins every year, and so on."

"Furthermore, no matter which college you attend in the future, as long as you present this contract, you can be exempted from tuition and living expenses."

Luo listened attentively to the explanation while carefully examining the contents of the contract on the parchment.

After confirming that there were no problems with the contract, Luo looked up and said to Matthew with a serious expression, "I've seen it clearly. Now we can sign the contract, Grandpa Matthew."

Upon hearing this, Matthew nodded, then took out a quill pen and a box of red clay, instructing Luo to sign his name, innate soul power level, martial soul name, date of birth, place of birth, and family relationship at the bottom of the parchment, and finally press a thumbprint on his name.

This contract is made in duplicate, with one copy kept by Matthew and one by Luo. If Luo leaves Notting City to study elsewhere in the future, he will need this contract document in his possession to receive subsidies from the local Spirit Hall.

After all the procedures were completed, Matthew stood up, took five gold soul coins from the cabinet behind him, solemnly placed them in Law's palm, and earnestly advised him:

"Luo, once you turn eighteen, you must strictly abide by this contract and never betray it in the slightest. Otherwise, you will face a severe manhunt from the Spirit Hall!"

"No matter where you flee to on the continent, or which faction you join, you will not escape the pursuit of the Spirit Hall!"

Luo carefully tucked the five gold soul coins into his pocket. Hearing Matthew's serious warning, he nodded firmly, indicating that he would never break the contract.

Afterwards, Matthew regained his previous kind and amiable demeanor, inquired about Luo's recent situation with concern, and then instructed Su Yuntao to personally escort Luo out of the Spirit Hall's gate.

…………

In an office at Notting Junior Academy, after listening to Tang San's description of Luo's Yama Martial Soul ability, Grandmaster fell into deep thought, as if he were tightly entangled by some question.

The latest novel is first published here!

"Teacher, is there anything special about Luo's martial soul?" Tang San asked softly, unable to contain his curiosity, after seeing that the master had remained silent for a long time.

Upon hearing this, the master first shook his head slightly, then nodded as if he had understood something.

This contradictory behavior left Tang San completely bewildered. Filled with doubt, he asked, "Teacher, don't you think that Luo's martial soul might just be a useless, worthless martial soul?"

At this moment, the master finally spoke slowly, his voice carrying a hint of determination:

"I always say, 'There are no useless martial souls, only useless soul masters.' Every martial soul has its unique function; only those useless soul masters fail to utilize their martial souls effectively."

"So, teacher, you think Luo's martial soul ability is very powerful?"

However, the master shook his head again, a gesture that completely baffled Tang San. He opened his mouth, but hesitated, his heart filled with confusion.

Just then, Grandmaster suddenly looked up, his gaze fixed intently on Tang San, and asked in a serious tone, "Little San, if you possessed Luo's martial soul, how would you begin to develop it?"
