Ultraman: I am really just a human.

Chapter 89 The New War of Sealing

"Class 3, head north!"

"Where is Captain Shimura?"

"The captain went to the city..."

Suburbs of Tokyo.

Kenzaki Kazuma leads a team alone to search for undead creatures, but after entering a dark forest, he suddenly loses contact with his combat team.

"Hey! Can you hear me? Where is everyone?"

After making a round of calls without getting a response, Kenzaki Kazuma angrily put down the communicator and summoned his belt ahead of time to continue his investigation.

Scattered green blood among the fallen leaves on the ground indicated that the pursuit was not misguided.

I just don't know exactly how many there are.

Kenzaki Kazuma nervously inserted his transformation card, the Ace of Spades, into his belt.

This time, the original plan was to borrow a few cards from the research institute to improve combat capabilities, but this major event unexpectedly occurred.

If all these undead creatures were to escape into the city, who knows what kind of chaos would ensue.

"ah--!"

Suddenly, a scream echoed through the forest, and a terrifying aura spread out of nowhere.

"Who's over there? What happened?"

Kenzaki Kazuma looked in the direction of the sound by the moonlight and tentatively called out, but there was no response at all, only gusts of cold wind blowing.

This place is really scary.

But he couldn't not come. He didn't know if the undead creatures were truly immortal, but right now the only way to seal them was through the Knight System.

He wouldn't allow himself to back down.

He must keep fighting in order to find redemption and forget his pain.

“Wuwu!”

The deeper they went into the forest, the more intense the eerie atmosphere became, and the sound of the wind seemed to turn into the wailing of ghosts.

Soon after, a series of dark shadows hanging from the trees came into Kenzaki Kazuma's view. Upon closer inspection, he realized that they were the combat team members who had disappeared earlier.

"asshole……"

Kenzaki Kazuma's eyes trembled as his fingers clenched tightly. He didn't bother to continue examining the surrounding darkness and shouted.

"Get out here!"

"call!"

There was no response from the surroundings, only a faint buzzing sound of the wind, like a spell, drawing ever closer.

"Come out!"

Kenzaki Kazuma tensed up, and as he roared, a vine tendril suddenly shot out from behind him, wrapping tightly around his neck before he could react.

"Hmm!"

The vine tentacles continued to tighten, and a tremendous dragging force came, as if trying to pull Kenzaki Kazuma into the darkness and hang him on the treetop like the others.

hateful……

"Transform!"

Kenzaki Kazuma pulled his body backward, urgently grabbing the tentacle around his neck, and quickly closed the core of his belt while struggling to breathe.

"Turn up!"

As the Ace of Spades' energy merged, a giant, glowing card resembling a door appeared in front of Kenzaki Kazuma, transforming and donning the new outfit while simultaneously repelling the tentacles.

Only then did the undead creatures in the forest fully reveal themselves.

Its blackish-green body was mixed with various vine colors, and its tentacles originated from the opponent's right arm. Overall, it looked like a distorted stem, which was extremely disgusting.

"Whoosh!"

Kenzaki Kazuma hurriedly drew the awakened sword blade from his side to block the vine tentacles' attack, while simultaneously charging towards the vine monster.

"Oh my god!"

"call!"

Kalis Natsukawa ascended the hillside, his sharp, aggressive stance gleaming coldly under the full moon. His heart-shaped compound eyes followed the Blade that Kenzaki Kazuma had transformed into below, finally locking onto the vine monster.

The undead creature fighting Kamen Rider Blade was of a lower rank, so he wasn't very familiar with it, although he had glanced at it when picking up the cards.

It happens to be an undead creature from the Hearts deck.

Undead vines, 7 hearts.

"Bang!"

Xia Chuan shifted his gaze slightly, quietly watching Kenzaki Kazuma's frenzied slashing attacks.

He has the same volatile personality as the protagonist of "Blade," and when he fights, he goes all out, as if he's risking his life.

However, the actual effect was worrying. The attack had almost no effect, and most of it was dodged by the vine undead creatures. In the end, even the sword-shaped weapon was knocked away by the tentacles.

They are no match at all.

This undead creature is equivalent to a Level 3 monster, but Kenzaki Kazuma seems to be quite far from being a Level 3 Rider, and cannot exert much of the power of Category A in the Rider System.

Most importantly, Kenzaki Kazuma doesn't even seem to be able to swipe a card.

It was even worse than the protagonist's early days in Blade.

"Ugh!"

Kenzaki Kazuma was trying to retrieve his weapon in the woods when he was suddenly entangled by vine tentacles and lifted into the air, where he was flung around and bumped about without any ability to resist.

"Bang! Bang!"

"No, we can't beat him at all!"

Kenzaki Kazuma screamed as he fell to the ground, and before he could recover, he crashed hard into a tree trunk. Looking at his teammates hanging around him, his voice became even more pained.

No one can save him.

Perhaps I will die here too...

"call!"

Kalis Natsukawa leaped into the woods, his gaze sweeping over the shouting Kenzaki Kazuma, and he drew his bow and arrows, firing several beams of light in quick succession.

Still too young.

"Bang bang bang!"

The tentacles binding Kenzaki Kazuma snapped off instantly. The undead vines recoiled in pain, glancing in shock and anger at the source of the light arrow.

In the moonlit mist, Xia Chuan embedded the Awakening Device component into the Kalis Bow and Arrow, gently brushing it past the 6 of Spades as it faced the undead creature.

"Thunder!" Bucks, lightning buff.

"Sizzle!"

Xia Chuan raised his bow and arrow again, pulled the trigger and aimed, and immediately, rings of lightning energy spread out under the moonlight.

"You are...Kalis?!"

The undead vine suddenly recognized Kalis's figure, turned around in alarm and fled, but was shot through the heart by a lightning arrow from behind after taking only one step, instantly activating the core of its belt and immobilizing its body.

"Whoosh!"

It's the same as during the Extreme Battle era.

Once the intensity of the attack exceeds a certain limit, the belt will open and enter a sealable state.

Xia Chuan waved his hand and threw out a blank card.

The moment the card touched the undead vine, it automatically absorbed it, transforming back into a sealed card before spinning back into Xia Chuan's hand.

7 hearts.

Its ability is to instantly generate tentacles to launch a powerful attack on enemies.

It doesn't seem to be of much use.

After reading the card information, Xia Chuan casually put the card back in the card box, turned around, picked up the Kalis Bow and Arrows, and left the forest.

"rustle!"

A gentle breeze rustled the leaves, and the sound of footsteps gradually faded into the distance.

Kenzaki Kazuma struggled to break free of the tentacles binding him, panting as he looked up, only to vaguely see a long, elongated knight's shadow in the moonlight.

"Kalis?"

That's what the undead creature called out just now.

It sounds like a name.

The ability to seal undead creatures must be a knight system like his, but he had no recollection of it at all.

"Could it be that the new Knight System has been successfully developed?"

Kenzaki Kazuma, puzzled, took out his communicator and called for help.

Their knight system is a machine that can be artificially created. It is said that the research institute has been working backwards, and there are three more Category A cards that can be used to create the knight system.

……

The next day.

After receiving treatment at the hospital, Kenzaki Kazuma rejoined the team. Just as he was about to inquire about the condition of the undead, he was suddenly approached by Captain Shimura.

"I heard you were saved by an unknown rider?" Shimura asked with a smile, "Kamen Rider Kalis?"

"Yes," Kenzaki Kazuma nodded excitedly in response, "that's what the undead creature shouted. It seemed to know Kalis and was quite afraid of him."

"Did you see that knight?"

"this……"

Kenzaki Kazuma's smile faltered slightly.

"I didn't see it clearly, but since it can seal undead creatures, it should be a knight system from the same system as mine, right?"

"Sealed?" Shimura's eyes changed slightly as he turned to Kenzaki Kazuma and explained, "Actually, there was another theft at the research institute last night. Some of the sealed cards suddenly disappeared, including the spade card that was originally meant for you."

"Stolen?" Kenzaki Kazuma's body stiffened. "Weren't all the cards unlocked?"

"Of course not. The sealed cards were not all placed together at the time, but were stored in two separate locations. Only the cards prepared for the experiment were unsealed."

Shimura smiled and looked at Kenzaki Kazuma.

"How about I leave the investigation to you? After all, the other side stole the card that originally belonged to you."

"Does the captain mean that Kalis took those cards?"

Kenzaki Kazuma's expression changed.

Kalis was not actually part of the Knight System developed by the research institute, and he even stole the institute's cards.

"What exactly is going on? A knight system that has never appeared before, if it doesn't belong to the research institute..."

"The Knight System may not be the only one capable of sealing undead creatures; some undead creatures may also possess this ability."

Shimura sighed and shook his head.

"Don't overthink it, Kenzaki. That guy... Kalis might not be saving you. Maybe he's just sealing away other undead creatures."
