Demigod Mage in America

Chapter 32 Would you be willing to make a trade?

Raine emerged from the crack and stood before the stool that belonged to him.

He was wearing a white short-sleeved shirt and beach shorts, looking extremely casual.

Seemingly realizing that his outfit wasn't quite right, Renn raised his hand and gently patted his body.

His casual clothes transformed in the blink of an eye into an exquisite black robe. Only after it was finished did he sit down and look up at David.

"Good evening, Mr. David. It seems you've made your decision."

David, who had been staring in disbelief, finally came to his senses.

"It's you!" he exclaimed, his voice trembling.

He never imagined that all of this was actually done by Ryan. How did this mysterious man manage to do it?

Ryan snapped his fingers, and an invisible servant who was on standby immediately brought him a glass of red wine.

He naturally had to spend some money while out. He bought a wine rack, plus these two rows of cabinets, though he made the cabinets himself.

"Please sit down."

As soon as Ryan finished speaking, a leather chair suddenly appeared under David's buttocks.

Unlike the previous simple chairs, the current chairs look more luxurious, and even the material has been changed to gold.

David exclaimed again, "This is gold!"

He discovered that Ryan's chair was not gilded, but made of gold, because when he gently rubbed it, a layer of gold paint came off.

"Please don't worry, they won't ask you for compensation."

Anyway, he can use magic to create more if needed.

In this divine realm, Renn can create any known substance if he so desires, except that he cannot take it out of the divine realm.

Of course, only inanimate objects are allowed; living objects and their derivatives are not permitted yet.

That's why he went out to buy alcohol instead of conjuring it up himself. Of course, the coffee machine and the wine rack were things he created himself.

David sat down in a daze, only snapping out of it when Ryan handed him a glass of wine.

"Thank you, but now I have to go save you, my family." He prepared to get up, but was stopped by Ryan.

Ryan took a sip of his drink and gestured for him to sit down: "Don't worry, you see."

Eagle Eye formed naturally as he finished speaking, projecting a scene.

Inside a relatively upscale apartment building, a mother and son were shivering.

At their door stood a gunman, now suspended in mid-air, a chain piercing his throat and protruding through a hole in his buttocks, hanging from the ceiling.

"This...this is? This is my house! My God!" David's face turned red instantly, and his blood surged in his chest.

His fears came true: Murphy arranged for a gunman to take care of his family.

But what's going on now?

"It's nothing, I just added a tiny little curse to him."

curse?

Upon hearing this word, which he had only ever heard of in rumors, David couldn't help but shudder.

He might have questioned Ryan's words in the past, but after experiencing such a legendary scene, he really doesn't dare to say that what the other party said is false.

"Yes, I just froze his life in that one second, but I didn't expect him to die so tragically. Hmm, that's a bit unexpected." Ryan shrugged, indicating that he really didn't know, because he really didn't do it.

He only wanted to leave the name of someone who was destined to die in the Death Note, but he didn't write down how that person would die.

So he didn't know why his abdication was so unlucky; he was hanging upside down from the ceiling like a teru teru bozu (a Japanese doll), and coincidentally, he got caught on it.

but……

Ryan looked at the child in the picture, lost in thought.

That's interesting. A superpower that suddenly awakens after the mother is in danger.

The use of magic is never about rigidly applying spells.

People like Raine can call themselves manipulators of magic, as can monks who convert magic into internal energy, and naturally, people who suddenly awaken superpowers.

Renn's finger glided lightly through the air, as if he were operating a mobile phone.

The scene in the Eagle Eye technique changed, transforming into a farm.

There was an elderly couple on the farm. At that moment, the hook-nosed white man was holding a shotgun and embracing his wife tightly.

At their doorstep, a brown bear was enjoying its dinner, with a black bodyguard.

"Dad! Mom! Damn it!" David roared, and he even prepared to get up and rush out.

"Don't worry, Mr. David. This little cutie will leave once it's full."

cute?

David stared at Ryan in disbelief. Was this really something a human would say? That was a brown bear, one of the best hunters in the wild.

Without weapons, no adult can guarantee their chances of survival if they encounter a brown bear in the wild.

He could only obediently sit down, not because he had calmed down, nor because he had figured something out.

It's not because his parents live far away in Kansas, but because even if he's furious now, he can't cross more than 1,000 miles from New York to get there.

However, he still stared intently at the screen, his pupils already bloodshot and the veins on his face bulging.

Perhaps it was a coincidence, or perhaps it was true as Ryan had said, but the brown bear outside the door actually turned and left after finishing its entrails, without trying to open the door or launch an attack.

"Phew..." David let out a long sigh, leaning back in his chair, feeling somewhat exhausted.

Raine gently stroked his palm.

"What do I need to give in return? And how should I address you?" David asked slowly after taking a deep breath.

He knew that no help was free; Murphy's help wasn't, and neither was Ryan's.

From the moment he stepped into this office, a memory surfaced in his mind.

All the rules here.

"You can call me boss, as for what I want..."

Ryan looked the white man up and down.

"You have two things you can exchange, but I don't know if you want to exchange them."

David clenched his fists, veins bulging on the back of his hands, and cautiously asked, "What do you mean? What can I exchange it for?"

He glanced back at the office; the door was still open, and the still-standing crowd inside remained.

"Your freedom, and your abilities."

David's face darkened when he heard this.

Freedom is something that cannot be traded, but this firm happens to possess that possibility.

Upon hearing the latter, however, he was delighted: "Is it really possible to trade abilities?"

Ryan smiled and corrected him: "It's not your extraordinary ability, but everything about you. From now on, you will be an incompetent person. You will even forget how to use tools."

David's smile froze.

"What do you mean by 'tools'?"

"From now on, you will need others to serve you in terms of food, clothing, shelter, and transportation. In return, you will receive a huge fortune from me, as well as the safety of your entire family."

Raine braced himself on the table, stood up, and looked down at him: "You... are you willing to make a trade?"
