Super God Academy: Kabuto

Chapter 5 The Gluttonous Attack

On the top floor of the Angel International Building, a tense merger and acquisition negotiation involving hundreds of millions of dollars was underway at a gleaming conference table. The air was thick with the scent of caffeine and a heavy silence, and every word was carefully crafted.

Suddenly—

"boom--!!!"

A blinding white light, as intense as a meteor, tore through the sky without warning, penetrating the top floor with precision and brutality at a speed exceeding the sound barrier!

A tremendous explosion was accompanied by the creaking of glass, and the entire expensive curved glass curtain wall shattered instantly! It didn't crack, but turned into billions of diamond-like fragments, which flew wildly in the sudden blast of air and sunlight, like a deadly rain of glass.

Screams erupted in the conference room, and documents scattered everywhere. Beneath the shattered dome, amidst dust and shards of light, a tall figure slowly stepped out of the pillar of light.

Her golden hair cascaded down her back, and her pure white wings unfurled behind her, each feather shimmering with a faint halo, making her appear sacred and awe-inspiring. Tiny shards of glass floated around her, refracting sunlight, as if draping her in a veil woven from stars.

The shocked female CEO barely maintained the composure of a business tycoon, waving her hand to dismiss her terrified subordinates who stumbled back. She took a deep breath, following the instructions of an ancient tradition deep within her memory, lifted her skirt, and knelt on one knee on the gravel-strewn ground, her voice trembling almost imperceptibly:

"...This is the first time I've ever seen a real angel."

Angel Yan's gaze swept calmly over the extravagance and chaos that belonged to humanity. Her red lips parted slightly, and her voice, ethereal and direct, resonated in the shattered space: "I remember that two thousand years ago, your ancestors swore to us that they would let the faith of angels dominate the earth."

The female CEO's throat went dry as she struggled to find the right words: "We have always remembered... However, now that Earth has the Super God Academy, we... need to balance the interests of all parties..."

"Super God Academy?" Angel Yan's lips curled into a faint, yet all-knowing smile. There was no mockery in that smile, only a detached indifference that seemed to survey the torrent of time. "The catastrophe on Earth has only just begun. Evil has already rioted, and darkness is about to engulf everything. As for justice…"

She shook her head slightly, her pure white wings fluttering gently behind her, creating subtle streams of light, and looked at the tiny yet resilient humans before her: "You are, after all, just Earthlings, not angels. What you bear is on a different dimension than what we protect."

"Who... are you?" The female CEO looked up, trying to see the face in the light.

Angel Yan stepped forward, completely stepping out of the radiant dust. Her wings spread wide, casting a massive shadow imbued with divine power. Her voice echoed clearly in every inch of the shattered space:

"Angel Yan."

At the same time, the atmosphere was completely different at a police station in a certain district of Juxia City.

Ge Xiaolun sat on the hard interrogation chair, gesturing wildly, his face clearly showing his innocence: "Officers! Officers! You all saw the surveillance footage, right? I was truly acting bravely! That Liu Chuang started it all, I was just trying to stand up for myself and was forced to fight back!"

A middle-aged policeman, experienced and with deep frown lines between his brows, rubbed his temples. His tone was one of formulaic patience mixed with barely concealed weariness: "Young man, we've reviewed the scene records. We understand your intentions in principle. However," he abruptly changed the subject, tapping several photos of the scene on the table with his knuckles—a dented wall, a deformed trash can, a mangled air conditioner unit—"look at the consequences and commotion caused by your 'good Samaritan' act. At best, it's excessive self-defense; at worst, it constitutes intentional damage to property and endangering public safety, understand?"

Upon hearing this, Liu Chuang, who was standing nearby, became indignant. He tried to stand up abruptly, but the police officers next to him pressed him back down. He could only stubbornly glare and shout, "No way! Do you even know who I am?! Trying to put on airs with me?"

Not far away, policewoman Qi Lin, who was rapidly working on her computer, didn't even look up. Her clear, calm voice rang out as if she were reading a report, each word as distinct as an ice bead falling onto a plate:

"Liu Chuang. ID number XXXXXXXXXX. Unemployed. High school diploma. Apprenticed at XX Watch Shop for three months, later worked as an insurance salesman and health product promoter. Police records show he was administratively detained three times for participating in group fights." She finally raised her eyes, her clear, sharp gaze meeting his through a few strands of hair, her tone flat. "Do you need me to retrieve more detailed medical records or related cases?"

Liu Chuang was choked by this series of precise blows, his face flushed red. He opened his mouth, but his imposing manner wouldn't allow him to back down, and his voice rose even higher: "I...I'm telling you! I'm going to be a superhero! The kind who saves all of humanity! Do you understand? You're hindering the progress of history!"

"Pfft—" A young auxiliary police officer who was taking notes nearby couldn't help but lower his head and cover his mouth.

The middle-aged policeman frowned even more, looking at him as if he were a lunatic: "Superhero? Who told you that?"

"When I fainted! In my dream, there was a deity, whose voice was like thunder, who said to me that I was... yes! 'God of War of Nuoxing'! God of War, you know?!" Liu Chuang spoke with spittle flying, as if he had already put on a red cheongsam.

"Behave yourself! Sit properly!" The male police officer increased the force of his banging on the table, his voice becoming stern.

Liu Chuang, however, was like a firecracker that had been lit. Especially after seeing Qi Lin, who had just "exposed his past," he was even more furious. He threatened across the table, "Let me tell you, little policewoman! Don't think you're so great just because you're pretty! You dare to actually lock me up and see what happens? When my old man Chuang gets out, I'll tell you, you'll be sorry! You just wait! You just wait!"

Just as chaos erupted, Ge Xiaolun was rendered speechless, and Liu Chuang was hurling insults in a farcical manner.

The door to the interrogation room was pushed open silently.

Two figures, a man and a woman, walked in, instantly bringing with them completely different, cold and oppressive auras.

Leading the group was a young woman with meticulously styled, wine-red hair and a refined face that seemed to be covered in frost. She wore a sharply tailored dark red leather jacket, and her gaze swept across the room, cold and aloof, carrying a condescending scrutiny. Behind her followed an exceptionally burly man with a buzz cut, wearing a well-fitting black suit and sunglasses. He was as silent as a mountain, every muscle exuding the power of rigorous training, like a top-notch professional bodyguard, yet possessing a more ruthless aura than an ordinary bodyguard.

"You've arrived." The middle-aged male police officer immediately stood up, his attitude becoming noticeably more formal, even carrying a hint of...respect?

The red-haired woman, Rose, with eyes like a precise radar, bypassed everyone else and locked onto Ge Xiaolun, who was still trying to explain. She spoke, her voice cold and utterly devoid of any superfluous words:

"Ge Xiaolun, come with us."

"Huh?" Ge Xiaolun was completely dumbfounded. He looked at the police, then at the two uninvited guests whose demeanor had suddenly changed. "Where...where are you going? Who are you?"

There was no explanation, no reassurance. Jess, standing behind Rose, stepped forward, his massive figure casting an oppressive shadow. He simply extended his hand, making a simple yet unambiguous "please" gesture, his expressionless face behind sunglasses conveying everything without a word.

Ge Xiaolun was dizzy and almost instinctively led out of the interrogation room in a mix of confusion, curiosity, and a vague fear.

The door closed gently, separating the inside from the outside.

The interrogation room fell silent for a second.

Liu Chuang stared wide-eyed at the closed door, then at the remaining police officers. He paused for two seconds, as if just processing the fact that he had been "ignored" and "overlooked." A surge of humiliation and anger at being utterly disregarded rushed to his head. He suddenly tried to stand up again, his voice cracking with agitation:

"Hey! No! What do you mean?! Huh?! Why are you taking him away but not me?! Hey! Police! This is discrimination! Blatant discrimination! Let me tell you, I fainted too! I dreamt of gods! I dreamt of a war god! Why is it him and not me?! Explain yourself! Hmph—!!!"

His shouts echoed in the small interrogation room, but only earned him a deeper frown from the middle-aged policeman and Qi Lin's profile as she refocused on the computer screen.

The sunlight outside the window was still bright, but it seemed unable to penetrate the room, which suddenly felt both exceptionally noisy and exceptionally isolated. Liu Chuang's "Declaration of War" shattered against the walls of the system, leaving only a scene of absurdity ignored by everyone and an unyielding resentment about to spread.
