Super God Academy: Kabuto

Chapter 69 Full-Scale Invasion

Earth, Great Canyon City, Purgatory Battlefield

The once bustling city of Juxia is now a scorched wasteland. The sky is shattered by the exhaust plumes of the Taotie warships' engines and the trails of anti-aircraft guns; the ear-piercing explosions, the sounds of collapsing buildings, and the hissing of energy intertwine into a symphony of destruction. Thick smoke billows, obscuring the sunlight, and the air is thick with the stench of gunpowder and blood.

On the city's outskirts, along a makeshift escape route, a desperate tide of people surged out of the city, fueled by the roars and commands of the army. Tanks and armored vehicles formed the last line of defense, their steel bodies shielding the deadly beams from the sky, buying every second for the evacuation.

At the heart of the battlefield, in the ruins of Wave Street

This is a meat grinder. The once bustling commercial street is now nothing but ruins, a death zone repeatedly fought over by both sides.

An officer, Wei Laoqi, whose face was covered in blood and mud, huddled behind a half-collapsed wall, letting out a hoarse roar into the communicator:

"I am Wei Laoqi! I am Wei Laoqi! Wave Street is full of alien dogs! Requesting artillery fire! Repeat, requesting artillery fire!!!"

A soldier, his face covered in blood, scrambled to his side, crying out, "Seventh Brother! It's no use! Our 67th Division... is wiped out! We really can't hold on any longer!"

Ignoring them all, Wei Laoqi's bloodshot eyes were fixed on the surging Taotie infantry ahead. He roared into the communicator again, "Where's the artillery?! Where's the artillery?! Damn it! Where's the communication?! Damn it!!!"

He slammed the communicator to the ground, shattering it into pieces. Despair, like a cold, venomous snake, coiled around the heart of every soldier.

On the communication channel, jumbled radio waves were mixed with intermittent shouts from other positions:

"Where's the Super Soldier Company?! Where is the Super Soldier Company?!"

"...The Super Soldier Company did not respond..."

"The Super Soldier Corps... at sea... has been destroyed..."

"We can only... fight this alone..."

The final message struck like a hammer blow, shattering the last pillar of support in many hearts. A bleak and dejected mood spread among the remaining defenders.

Just then, a sharp-eyed soldier suddenly pointed to the sky, his voice distorted with excitement:

"Look! In the sky! Red hair! Black armor! It's...it's someone from the Super Soldier Squad! It's Rose!"

All the survivors looked up in unison.

Rose, clad in black armor, her red hair billowing in the air currents of the gunfire, hovered above the battlefield like a phoenix rising from the ashes! She calmly surveyed the battle below, her fingers rapidly tapping in the void, calculating spatial nodes.

Immediately afterwards, her voice, amplified through the loudspeaker, resounded clearly throughout the ravaged battlefield, carrying a calming power:

"I am Rose of the Super Soldier Company! I stand with you all!"

As soon as she finished speaking, she pushed her hands forward forcefully!

The space ahead distorted, and several micro-wormholes opened instantly, precisely swallowing several teams of Taotie soldiers who had charged to the front. The next second, they were thrown into the Taotie's own fire network several kilometers away, causing chaos!

"It's teleportation! Comrade Rose is here to help us!"

"Brothers! The Super Soldier Company is still here! Kill them!!!"

Hope was rekindled! The surviving warriors mustered their last bit of courage, and with the help of Rose's elusive spatial abilities, they managed to withstand the Taotie's fierce attack, buying crucial time for the civilians to evacuate.

……

Outside of Juxia City, the rendezvous point for the evacuation convoy

Rose stood on a high slope, taking one last look back at the city ruins shrouded in flames and thick smoke—the place where she had grown up and fought. She took a deep breath, suppressing the sorrow in her heart, and turned to look at the survivors behind her, their eyes filled with fear and hope, and the exhausted soldiers.

"Everyone, keep up with the formation! Destination—North Star!" She climbed onto a military motorcycle, the engine growling.

The convoy began its northward journey. Rose, perched on her motorcycle, repeatedly adjusted the radio channel; her clear, resolute voice, carried by the airwaves, reached the vast and perilous land of China.

"This is Super Soldier Rose! I'm on my way to North Star! Calling all super soldiers, ordinary soldiers, and survivors who can hear this broadcast! Please do everything you can to reach North Star! That's our last line of defense, and they need us there!"

Her voice, like a beacon in the darkness, pierced through the smoke of battle, conveying an indomitable will and a rallying cry.

In a remote mountain forest

Zhao (the Sword Saint), carrying a longsword, walked cautiously ahead, followed closely by Feifei, who clutched the supplies tightly. Their portable radios were intermittently playing Rose's broadcasts.

Zhao paused, looked north, his eyes sharp as swords.

"Feifei, let's speed up. North Star, meet up."

Flower and Fruit Mountain, in front of the Water Curtain Cave

A makeshift radio base station had even been set up here. A communications soldier was tirelessly shouting into the microphone:

"This is the Flower Fruit Mountain base! All warriors who can hear this broadcast, please respond! We fight alongside the Great Sage Equaling Heaven, Sun Wukong! We resist the enemy together! We need more strength! Repeat, this is Flower Fruit Mountain..."

The sparks of hope have already been ignited in every corner of China. Although the road ahead is full of thorns and darkness shrouds the land, the flames of hope are gathering tenaciously and with difficulty, along with each indomitable figure, toward the lighthouse called "North Star".
