Courtyard House: The Cultivation System Takes Me Flying

Chapter 174 Peace of Mind Without Thoughts - Eternal Return to Gentleness

After the True Constant Transformation, within the eternal Chang'an, all living beings completely entered a state of peace and tranquility, a state of eternal gentleness. This state of being without thought is not the absence of any desires, but rather the absence of greed, desire, attachment, and delusion; the heart is filled only with peace and warmth, without a single extraneous thought. This state of gentleness is not weakness, but rather the transformation of all things in heaven and earth into tenderness, the transformation of the Great Dao's power into warmth, the concealment of all sharpness, the melting away of all rigidity, leaving only a gentle warmth that envelops the entire homeland and the entire world.

Within the garden, the concept of "protection" no longer exists, for there is no need for protection; there is no inherent safety. There is no longer a pursuit of "perfection," for perfection is inherent. There is no longer an expectation of "eternity," for eternity is inherent. All beings, including all spirits and spiritual beings, are free from attachment, undisturbed, and without emotional fluctuations, as pure as a newborn infant, as clear as an ancient mountain spring, and as free as drifting clouds.

Qin Lintian's Dao heart had long since transcended all thoughts and attachments. He was no longer a "guardian," no longer a "Daoist," but simply "Lintian" by his family's side, a member of his home. He had no obsession with protection, no burden of the Great Dao, no responsibility to heaven and earth, simply because his home was inherently peaceful, his family inherently harmonious, and heaven and earth inherently tranquil. His existence was gentleness, peace of mind, and a return to gentleness. Every breath he took resonated with the warmth of his home, and every heartbeat he made echoed the tranquility of heaven and earth.

He would casually sit on the bank of the Spirit Stream, letting its waters flow over his fingertips, gently seeping into his heart; he would casually lean against the pillar of the Qinghuan Pavilion, listening to the soft tinkling of the wind chimes, feeling the freedom of non-thought; he would casually lie on the Starry Night Cloud Bed, gazing at the Milky Way filling the sky, experiencing the perfect harmony of returning to gentleness. Non-thought is peace of mind; peace of mind is returning to gentleness; returning to gentleness is eternity.

Qin Huairu was free of desires and wants. She no longer worried about her family's safety or the changing years; she simply followed her heart and found peace in simplicity. She would casually pluck a spirit flower and tuck it behind her ear, her smile gentle; she would casually scoop up a handful of water from the spirit stream and lightly sprinkle it on the ground to nourish the plants; she would casually sit beside her children, quietly watching them play, her heart filled with tenderness. Her gentleness was the very essence of her home, and her peace of mind was the answer to the passage of time.

He Yuzhu was free of attachment and desire. He no longer deliberately cooked spiritual dishes, nor did he deliberately pursue deliciousness. Instead, the warmth of everyday life naturally brought forth the spiritual dishes, and his simple actions were filled with tenderness. He would sit on the steps of the Spiritual Food Pavilion, looking at the beautiful scenery, and laugh heartily, his smile warm and comforting. He would casually pick up a piece of spiritual cake and hand it to a child beside him, the warmth of everyday life transforming into the gentlest comfort. His gentleness was the foundation of a stable home, and his lack of attachment was the essence of peace of mind.

The four elders, Jia Zhangshi, Jia Dongxu, Yan Bugui, and Liu Haizhong, lived a life free from worries and anxieties. They spent their days simply sitting and chatting, playing chess and sipping tea, naturally enveloped in an aura of longevity and peace. They no longer dwelled on past hardships, nor did they yearn for a stable future, for the present moment was eternity, and this very moment was perfection. Their aged faces always wore kind and serene smiles; every wrinkle was etched with a tranquil peace, and every glance held an eternal gentleness.

The children, carefree and without a thought, still play and run around all day, but there is no more fighting, no more fatigue, no more ups and downs of joy, anger, sorrow, or happiness; only pure joy, pure companionship, and pure peace of mind. Their innocence is the purest manifestation of carefree joy, their laughter is the most beautiful sound of gentle warmth, and their presence adds a touch of vibrancy and brightness to the gentleness of their home.

All creatures are without thought or ferocity. The white jade rhinoceros no longer possesses the majesty of an auspicious beast, but simply lies docilely curled up, like a gentle child; the herd of spirit deer no longer harbors any vigilance, but simply strolls leisurely, like a carefree traveler; the spirit birds and exotic beasts no longer have any thought of survival, but simply dwell freely, like the scenery of their home. Their docility is the natural state of being without thought, and their tranquility is a testament to returning to gentleness.

The spirits of nature are without thought or desire. The morning dew transforms into a refreshing mist, the spirit stream into gentle waves, the spirit chimes into a tranquil breeze, the spirit tree into a beacon of life, and the ever-burning lamp into a warm flame. They have no attachment to intelligence, no thirst for existence; they are simply one with their home, one with gentleness, and one with a peaceful heart free of thought.

The entire ancient city of Chang'an was enveloped in an ultimate gentleness. All the laws of heaven and earth, the origin of the Great Dao, the spiritual energy of heaven and earth, and the passage of time were transformed into a warm, gentle flow, permeating every inch of land, surrounding every living being, and soaking into every wisp of Daoist charm. There was no hardness, no sharpness, no coldness, no indifference, only gentleness, only peace, only warmth, only harmony.

This gentleness is not deliberate, but rather natural;

This peace of mind is not something that can be forced, but rather something that arises naturally from a state of non-attachment;

This gentleness is not something acquired through cultivation, but rather something naturally formed throughout the ages.

Between heaven and earth, no power is stronger than this tranquil peace of mind, and no Daoist principle is more eternal than this timeless gentleness. Demons are subdued upon encountering it, strife vanishes, suffering dissipates, and turmoil finds peace. It is the most primal power of heaven and earth, the core Daoist principle of our home, and the most perfect destination for life.

Qin Lintian and Qin Huairu sat side by side on the banks of the Spirit Stream. Behind them were elders chatting quietly, beside them were carefree children playing, and beside them were all gentle and peaceful spirits. All around them was the scenery of the True and Constant Transformation, and between heaven and earth was the warmth of eternal gentleness.

No words, no actions, no emotions.

Only the peace of mind without thoughts, only the gentle warmth of returning to tenderness, only the eternal companionship.

The stream flows gently, the wind chimes chime softly, the lamplight casts a gentle glow, and the fragrance of the herbs permeates the air. All this tenderness intertwines to form an eternal net of peace, firmly protecting the entire homeland and the whole world, forever undisturbed, forever safe, forever free from worries, forever returning to gentleness.

"No thought is peace of mind, peace of mind is returning to gentleness, returning to gentleness is Chang'an." Qin Lintian said softly, his voice as gentle as the water of Lingxi, drifting with the wind, merging into heaven and earth, becoming an eternal footnote to Chang'an.

As the words fell, the heavens and earth trembled slightly, and tenderness deepened.

Peace of mind without thoughts, eternal return to gentleness.

A single thought without thought brings peace; eternal gentleness and eternal joy prevail.

Tender feelings forever surround our home, and the world is wide and carefree.
