Learning to Love Again

Walking into the hall, they see that the rest of the family members and guests have been seated. They are talking to each while waiting for Su Kong, the star of the show to arrive.

The hall is not too big, but it is decorated very nicely.

It is a simple banquet, with only members of the family and very close friends.

The group entered quietly so they did not attract a lot of attention.

But someone inside spotted Su Lian and exclaimed.

"Lian."

Instantly, nearly all the eyes in the hall were directed on the group of four young people who just entered. Most of the gazes were locked onto Su Lian's slim figure.

Caught off guard, she could only give an awkward smile before following her brother and cousins to a table.

"Look at you, the belle of the ball. If I disappeared for ten years no one would notice I was gone or even remember what I look like." Su Yanyu unhappily chimes before stuffing a piece of shrimp in her mouth.

"If you left the house, even for a day, you would probably end up dead on the streets." Su Duyi takes a sip of water and says with a smirk.

Listening to her brother's mean comment, Su Yanyu nearly chokes on her shrimp. "I am more than capable of taking care of myself. If I left, I would come back a millionaire."

"hmmm, sure you would."

Feeling unhappy, Su Yanyu decides to ignore her brother and turns to face Su Lian with a smile.

"Kim Xia is really famous now. Do you think you could get me her autograph? She's my idol."

Kim Xia.

A popular singer and songwriter who had risen to fame overnight.

Su Lian pauses briefly before looking up to reply. "I haven't spoken to her since I left four years ago."

Su Yanyu pouts slightly. "That's too bad. You two were like best friends."

Four years ago Su Lian did have a close friend.

Yang Xia who is now known by her stage name, Kim Xia.

Kim Xia just started her career and was very occupied with that. Su Lian, on the other hand, had just met Han Yuan. As a result of their different schedules, they stopped seeing each other as much and eventually grew apart.

There was no fight, they just lost contact.

Some relationships just fade away without any conflict.

"Once I graduate, my dream is to design clothing for celebrities. If Kim Xia could wear a dress that I make, then I would die content."
