The dead body wasn't there,

Oh gosh, that gave me quite a scare,

I looked around, but I found nothing new,

Suddenly something gnarled,

Oh please tell me this, isn't true.

I looked around,

and saw the stinking head of the rotten undead,

Scared, I didn't make a sound,

As I wish this thing didn't bother leaving its bed.

It swiped its hands towards me,

But as you have guessed I dodged it luckily,

Never wanting to be zombie food I ran,

I ran and ran, I poured the best I can.

I felt exhausted and still frenetic,

My heart almost jumping out of my rib cage,

I tried to calm myself, but I still feel hectic,

That look of hunger looks kinda savage.

I warned the others to run away,

Leave this place or die in dismay,

They apparently felt undisturbed,

Even though I told them what I had just observed.

They insisted they can fight it,

With courage and a bullet,

They aimed at it and hit!

Its head even surprisingly split.

Mar looked at me with a daring smile,

They mocked my cowardice for a while,

Is it my fault I don't want to die?

I just kept quiet, but in my mind's a lot of whys.

I held my bag tightly as I prepare to ascend,

If I'm gonna survive I'd rather not be brave,

I'll be the one, to be saved not to save.

Selfish as you call it but I don't want to get killed,

They laugh at my presence but I won't drown in guilt,

Never again would I do, something as stupid as that,

But because of it, they teased me as nothing but a scared trembling cat.
