bleeding into history

their body straying away

floating slowly in space

until the paint of reality

strokes over its color

that personal connection

static with your communication

the people you love the most

will hurt you even more

when you know

their lives don't orbit you

loyal and true

like the celestial bodies above

you don't see them

for who they are

because you'll spend more

precious, scarce time

remorseful in memories

as they circle you

like fireflies in the dense

pulsing and eager

to remind you

what you've lost
