Paying The Price

Everyone immediately focused on their work, those words were like death sentence making them pray fervently for Leon not to have noticed their previous scornful look at Sarah.

It was better to be on Sarah's black book than Leon. The chance of getting another job after his disapproval was very thin.

Beside that, there was an instance of a former chief financial officer who tried to embezzle from D.E.L and was never found till date after being caught. His family stopped investigating on his whereabouts when a single clue wasn't discovered.

Leon's innocent baby face combined with his gentle and mild traits often portray him as sackless and pure, but his rare nefarious actions unveils his benign cover.

Nikki rolled her eyes at him.

So what if she gets the boot for being able to do what he's not man enough to do?! she would spill coffee on, him even if she doesn't live after that she would still feel fulfilled.

Leon leaned on his glass table, his fingers taping slightly on it as his eyes combed the floor, searching for what obviously wasn't there.

His hair swept across his face as the sun shone on him giving off an alluring aura, his seductive posture would make every girl fall for him instantly.

Well every girl except....

"Sir, miss Finn is here." Timothy, his assistant, was referring to Nikki. After ushering her in, he left the two in roo.

Breaking from his floor gaze, Leon examined Nikki from head to toe as she walked in.

"What are you looking at?" Nikki frowned.

"Nothing, you've just become more beautiful than before." He complimented casually.

"Wow, your compliment makes me wanna run under a bus."

"Your really haven't changed." Leon said with a half smile at Nikki's sarcastic words. "Anyway how's Diana?"

"So there's why you hired me, to be your informant?"

"Among that, Yes."

"If the other reason is to be your guard dog against Sarah, then you have no balls, come on dude after four years you still haven't told her off. I am so disappointed in you."

"First, me and Sarah's relationship is complicated you'll never understand, second, am your boss, so mind how you talk to me." Leon's eyes were clear as the sky and his expression was straight as he talked to her.

"Your only my boss in the company when people are around aside that you're an a**. If there's nothing more 'Sir', I'll go back to my post." Nikki turned to leave not waiting for his response.

Leon's ringing phone stopped him from calling after her.

"What is it?" He asked the person on the other line.

The voice spoke in an unfriendly way, giving the piece of information urgently.

"Really?!, I have no idea about it."

"OK, I'll be there soon." Leon ended the conversation.

Diana was swamped attending to customers and stealing glances of her daughter by the corner of the shop, when a familiar tall and broad figure entered the shop with an intimidating aura.
