Paying The Price

In the plane, the men talked about the mission ahead "We got some info about the buyer." Gabriel placed a tab in front of Wayne as he continued "It's a Spanish man named Martinez Garcia, ex convict, top head of an assassin group called 'Deal', CEO of Sky communications... excetra. Most likely the trade will commence at his mansion in New York City. We'll talk about the scheme in the safe house."

After a long pause Gabriel asked "Shouldn't you guys be familiar with him."

Leon looked at Wayne before answering "Yeah, a little. He was among the many behind the war, as Wayne and I were against it we're enemies now. But we haven't had any contact since then."

Martinez was one who loved chaos, peace didn't exist in his vocabulary. His aim for purchasing the nuclear weapon may just be to see humans running around like little ants while he blows them to pieces.

Wayne stole a glance of his daughter, although he wasn't as crazy as Martinez, things like these also excited him—watching people in pain. But with this child in his life, love grew stronger and stronger in him. That is, love for his own.

Joe and Stacey were about to welcome the newly arrivals but choked on their words when they saw a little girl alongside the three men.

"What the hell is she doing here!" Joe didn't whisper like Leon and Gabriel, instead he exclaimed loudly.

"If you can make her go willingly, I'll do anything you ask." Leon spoke up, he knew it was a mission impossible that's why he offered to anything.

"What!" Joe frowned and turned to Pearl "Sweetie, dangerous! can't come!"

"So you are bad guys! Wait till mom hears about this." Pearl pulled out her phone threatening to make a call.

"Wo! hold on, we're not bad, we're just doing a.d.u.l.t stuffs." Joe stopped her from making the call.

"Don't worry, I'll be in the safe house." Pearl heard the men mention it in their conversation. She then walked to Stacey and held her hand leading her away from the others.

Joe glared at the supposed responsible men "You brought her along?"

"You didn't make her go back?" Leon shot back.

Gabriel patted Joe's back heading him inside the building "She'll be fine in the safe house."

"And who's gonna watch her when you're gone."

"Stacey." Wayne didn't inform before hand but his commanding tone had the final say.

He placed her gently on the bed then c.a.r.e.s.sed her head.

"Are you really bad guys?" She asked in her sleepy state.

"No, we're heros stopping the bad guys from doing something evil." Wayne replied in a low and loving tone.

"Can you be mummy's hero?"

Always with the thought provoking questions.

"I'll try." Wayne kissed his daughter good night, then returned to the others to discuss the plan.
