Paying The Price

Chapter 30 - I Want That Girl.

Stacey called early at the safe house the next morning to babysit Pearl. The guys bade little sugar goodbye then moved to their location.

The plan was simple, go in like one of them, take them down and get the weapon successfully. Well on paper it was simple, now the real deal began.

With Wayne's connection, other basic informations were obtained, estimated number of guards, types of gun they had, one of Wayne's men was planted as a spie before hand. As professionals, things were bound to go smoothly.

Taking their positions they were ready to strike.

....

In a room filled with surveillance monitors, a man around his 70's sat on an office chair, he tapped his fingers on the arm of the chair watching the screen intently.

"Sir, no one has existed the building till now." A ruby middle aged man informed him.

"No one?" His old voice was firm and unfriendly.

"Yes sir."

"Mmm, make sure Wayne gets what he wants successfully, I want him to leave early, I want that girl."

In the morning in Titan city when Diana arrived at the coffee shop, she found it a little in disorder. Employees looked troubled as they formed a circle around Gwen, asking different questions in despair.

"What's going on?" Diana asked the female waitress.

"The shop is closing down." The waitress answered with a careworn look.

"What! why?"

"The Linemans bought it, it was so quick that the Gomez only knew about it yesterday and the effect is immediate, by tomorrow it's goodbye to our jobs."

'The Linemans.' Diana thought then she asked again "Do you know why they bought it?"

"I heard it's for Miss Fiona's new studio."

Fiona.

Of course she wouldn't let her have peace. Time to put her in where she belong.

Diana wasn't going to allow her bring her down, she'll act first before Fiona took another step.

Z's coffee shop may have another branch, but it wouldn't be able to accommodate all the employees here and they all need the job.

Diana took an excuse then walked out of the shop, she pulled out her phone and made a call "Hey Kayla, do you have Fiona's contact. I need it."

For more than an hour Diana had waited in a middle class restaurant, to avoid trouble she ordered something light while she waited.

A woman dressed elegantly in Chanel's outfit suddenly walked in, her black hair was neatly done. She then sat in front of Diana "You wanted to see me?"

Diana examined the woman in front of her then smacked her lips "I didn't think you'll come, you must be really desperate."

Fiona scorned at her words "Do you think I'll miss seeing you embarrass yourself?"

"I want you to hands off from the building." Not beating around the bush, Diana went straight to the point.

"And why should I do that?"

Diana leaned back on her chair with her arms folded "Cause I need you to help me get a lawyer for a divorce."
