Paying The Price

Chapter 32 - Nothing Would Happen To Her, Nothing Would Happen To His Daughter.

Crowds gathered the car that just lost control, it injured a few people as it crashed. Stacey was alive but unconscious, the driver? long gone.

The ambulance arrived quickly to aid the affected, in the midst of the commotion, a little girl with a messy hair and some serious bruises watched as panick was in the air.

'What just happened?' she thought.

All she could remember was talking to the nice uncle when blood splashed and..... Stacey.... where's Stacey?

Pearl looked at the direction of the ambulance, a woman filled with blood was rushed in.

Should she follow?

Pearl had the intention of running to meet up with Stacey in the ambulance but her foot was rooted in the ground. She could only watch the ambulance speed off.

The ambulance was no longer in sight before Pearl regained her senses, she saw the odd stares people had, so she quickly walked to the next street.

Whoever made that shot was no amateur, it was accurate and the car stopped at the predicted spot.

The first to get to the car were some men in casual clothing, they were prepared to pick up a little girl but found none.

No matter how hard the car crashed, Pearl would only have sustained some injuries nothing more.

The men were shocked, they tried looking for her but the crowds made it difficult. One of them talked through his earpiece "Boss, she's not here."

"What do you mean 'she's not here'?!" The other voice was full with rage. "Look for her." He commanded and ended the call.

The ruby man stole a glance of the old fellow who sat quietly, he was calm and deep in thoughts "Oliver, check the security footage." He finally spoke up.

"Yes sir." Oliver pushed the man in front of the screen and checked the footage himself.

In slow motion, the back door was vividly seen opened agar and a girl jumped out. No matter how hard they tried the video couldn't find where the girl was thereafter.

"Where do you think a smart little girl who would jump out of a moving car go?" The old man asked slowly.

"Er..... the hospital or maybe the police." Oliver quickly answered.

"You know what to do."

"Go to the entrance of the hospital and the police station right now." Oliver ordered through his earpiece.

Wayne and the rest were having a discussion with some government officials when the breaking news talked about an incident that just happened. The news showed the only survivor of the accident.

"That's Stacey!" Leon exclaimed in disbelief with his eyes wide open.

Only survivor.

Where's Pearl?

Nothing would happen to her, nothing would happen to his daughter.

Arriving at the scene, he grabbed every black haired girl he found but they weren't his daughter.
