Paying The Price

Chapter 50 - You Really Can't Wait.

His electrical shop looked normal, with computers and other electronic accessories occupying most of its room and some few neatly arranged tables and chairs and a high quality leather couch for customers in the waiting room.

Diana didn't see how here was safe even a little bit. She sighed deeply, she couldn't believe this was Zach's idea. Oh wait, how could she trust him.

She walked to the couch with the intention of laying Pearl down on it "Don't put her there." Zach stopped her.

"Where should I put her, your office?" With one brow lifted she asked.

"No, in here." Zach pointed towards the counter.

"On top of the counter?"

Zach didn't reply but walked to the back of the counter and pressed a button under it.

Astonishingly, the wall opened up, leading to a secret room. Even if she had stayed here for years, Diana would never have suspected that there would be a room hidden behind this wall.

Slowly she walked in while carrying Pearl. The room had a king size bed with solid wooden platform, a standard sofa about 6 feet long and 34 inches deep and a small bathroom and toilet by the corner. The room wasn't that big, in fact it was small but sufficient for three.

After carefully placing Pearl on the bed, Diana sat on it facing the couch were Zach was sitted "Now, fill me in. I want to know everything."

"You really can't wait." Zach teased.

"Well put yourself in my shoes, I am lost, scared and going nuts."

"I don't want to be in that shoe."

"Zach!"

"Ok ok, I'll tell you. First let's start from the beginning, your parents. The Blacks and Anistons had always been enemies but you know what happens when love meets."

"A baby is born and there is peace between both sides?" Diana's eyes shone in expectation as she said.

"Is your life peaceful now?"

"No." She said in disappointment.

"Now don't interrupt me." Zach proceeded to continue "When love meets, it first gives birth to stubbornness and that was why your parents got married despite strong opposition. To secure their marriage and lives they fled to a remote side in Texas, later when they were traced, to here, Titan city. Yet again they were found, this time they were unaware, that's why the accident happened, claiming their lives except yours."

"No-one knew how you disappeared from the vehicle. The assassin's job was to retrieve you for the Anistons and end your parents life but you weren't found. There were no cameras around, cause it was outside the city but he swore he say you in the car while he was up the tree. I guess your parents outsmarted him."

"Hold on, if the assassin was asked to retrieve me for the Anistons that would mean Simeon sent him. To kill his own daughter." Diana said in disbelief. If he could kill his daughter what was a granddaughter or even a great granddaughter to him.

"With the situation at hand she was useless to him that's why he settled for you instead."
