Fuda's combat suit was pulled along by Mawen and Filde's combat suits. Ella and Gate aimed at Komi's front, but did not fire because of the erratic trajectory of the shotgun shells.
He sliced the Space Marine, whose body was still half-destroyed but could still charge forward, into even smaller pieces. Without turning his head, Komi shouted, "Head towards that damn rift! I'll be there soon!"
“Yes, Saint Otto!” Fita bowed to Koken, then immediately grabbed Kranka and plunged into the rift, taking Eldar with her as they passed.
However, her actions in dragging the spirit race were anything but gentle. She swung out a chain and directly bound it to the spirit race's body, dragging and pulling them into the rift.
Ella and Gate only called out to Komi after everyone had entered the rift, "Saint! We're all in!"
Koji also prepared to retreat. He swung his blade forward, severing the hands that were trying to grab him. He then lightly touched the ground with his toes and sprang backward, completing a mid-air spin. He then lowered his body and ran towards the crevice.
Before entering the rift, Gu Jian did not forget to collect the soul bricks. He swept his hand across the sharp stakes and guided them back into the hall.
The rift, no longer restrained by the spikes, bounced back, blocking the Space Marines who were closely following Komi.
clang!
Komi fell into the arms of Fithia, who had been waiting for him. His head slammed into Fithia's hard iron chest, and he immediately felt his brain shaking inside his skull.
"Sage! I caught you!" Fitiya didn't notice that Gu Jian's head was buzzing from the impact. She only felt that the impact was the most moving sound she had ever heard in her life, even the hum of the Great Bell of Ten Thousand Machines could not compare to it.
Komi struggled to break free from Fithia's embrace, rubbing his head and complaining, "Damn it...aren't you a member of the Flesh and Blood faction? Why is your chest as hard as adamantite?"
"I made changes to listen to the voice of the God of Machines. Do you like it?" Fitaia's pretty face flushed slightly. She didn't notice the sarcasm in Komi's words and directly opened her robes so that Komi could see clearly.
Komi didn't see two lumps of flesh; he only saw two spherical alloy storage tanks. Through a triangular lens on the outside, Komi thought that they contained high-energy plasma that Fetia used to power his equipment.
Snapped!
Komi slapped his face; he really didn't want to say anything more to Fetia.
He sighed, got up, and checked the current situation.
The Eldar lacked combat capability and even had difficulty moving. Only their own guards were capable of fighting, but they could only play a limited role against such a large number of Space Marines.
The only good news is that the Space Marines can't just break through these tunnels to attack; they're an obstacle for them too.
Komi took a few steps to Novia's side, grabbed her robe, pulled her up, and slapped her twice.
Chapter 480: A Cruel Joke
"Cheer up, you damn knife-eared idiot! You've been yelling about coming here all along, but now you're such a useless piece of trash you can't even stand up."
"I...I'm so sorry...Mother..."
"Who's your mother?"
Novia said timidly, her eyes blinking as if she were about to fall asleep.
Gu Jian was genuinely afraid that she would die. Only the prophet knew the way to escape from the black holes surrounding them, and he didn't want to be trapped here waiting to die after successfully exploring the Black Stone Fortress.
Komi was both angry and anxious, and slapped Novia a few more times in resentment.
After letting out a few soft screams, Novia seemed to be enjoying it, and the way she looked at Komi was really strange and indescribable.
As if abandoning a plague-infected corpse, Komi had no choice but to tell his guards, "Take these incompetent swords with you and stay close behind me."
“Yes, Saint!” Fithia immediately pounced and captured Novia, having witnessed Novia’s actions firsthand.
You despicable alien, how dare you so shamelessly enjoy the glory of a saint?
Fithia bound Novia tightly, each tightening clearly aimed at breaking the Elven bones, but Novia's body was far stronger than a human's, and Fithia's actions only allowed her to exhale a few breaths.
Using their memories to find the gaps and securing the surroundings with the soul brick stakes, Koken led the group deeper into the area.
Having finally escaped the passage, the sight of the deep black stone filled Koji with joy, while the spirits who had been listless in the passage gradually regained their spirits.
"Can you let go of me..." Novia pleaded, the confusion and languor on her face disappearing, replaced by her usual aloof and taciturn demeanor. It was unclear whether she still remembered calling Komi "Mom."
"You're finally awake." Gu Jian shook his head and sighed, "Do you know how much effort it took us to get you out of here? My hands are numb from slapping you... I've never slapped anyone more in my entire life!"
Novia's aloofness shattered for a moment, after all, she could see out of the corner of her eye that Bishop Alissa, who had a verbal conflict with Komi, had been slapped into a pig's head, and it was hard to say whether Komi was deliberately retaliating against him.
The deeply depressed prophet also received special treatment; her suicidal thoughts were nipped in the bud by Koji's hand, and now her neck is even more purple than an eggplant.
Without removing the chains from Novia, Komi said to her in an unfriendly tone, "Alright, Eldar, let's be honest. We almost died here just now. Tell me everything you know, okay? Stop hiding things."
"I didn't hide anything..."
“Ah, I didn’t hide anything.” Koji rolled his eyes. “A standard Eldar lie, as ridiculous as an orc saying I’d definitely not mess with you. Now I’ll give you a chance to speak, Novia.”
Komi raised his chin, and four combat suits forced the Elven race to kneel before him. Fithia placed four chainsaws on the necks of these Elven race members, and she could disembowel them in less than a second.
“Tell me everything you know, or prepare to watch them die before your eyes. I know you all very well, and I know how to make your deaths the most painful.”
Komi weighed the soul stone in his hand and told Novia that his threat was no exaggeration. The prophet remained silent for a long time before slowly replying.
"My understanding of this place comes entirely from the clown troupe's performances, and I can't guarantee I understood all of those plays..."
“I understand, I understand. You don’t even speak human language to your own people. Say what you know, preferably about this Blackrock Fortress. And don’t speak your Eldar language to me, translate it into Low Gothic.”
"But the meaning of those words is definitely not..."
That's your problem, not mine.
Fytia obligingly made the chainsaw click twice, and Novia could only say helplessly with a cold face.
"This fortress was built by the great craftsman god Vaal, a war fortress constructed to defeat the Fearful Death Dynasty and the Star God. However, unlike the Blackrock fortresses that tear everything apart with their magnificent cannons, this fortress's strength lies in long-distance transport."
"Long-distance transport? Do you still need those? During the War of Heaven, your network spanned the universe; there was no place you couldn't reach."
Fithia interjected, "What is the War of Heaven?"
"Quiet down, these things can't be explained in just a few words." Komi glanced at Fitia and told her to be quiet. Novia followed suit, saying what she had just said.
"The Dreadnecks and the Star Gods were overwhelmed by the Web's surprise attack. Among them, the Void Dragons, who wielded the mechanical principles, and the most powerful and wealthy dynasties joined forces, constructing arrays across the land using unimaginably vast amounts of blackstone to seal off the warp..."
Does this refer to the Black Stone Obelisk on Kadia used to restrict the Eye of Fear?
Listening to Novia's description, this was all that Komi could think of.
"And the network path is located in the subspace. When the subspace itself is blocked, the network path becomes useless, right?" Koken asked with some understanding.
"Uh... I guess so?" Novia's gaze darted around, and Komi knew this was her reaction because she couldn't fully understand those dramas.
Novia then recalled and shared her understanding.
"The blocking of the Web has tipped the scales of war in favor of the Star Gods. The almost limitless soul energy in the Warp cannot reach the battlefield, and many star systems have fallen to the enemy. Our Creators are determined to reverse this situation; they have decided to use a new mode of transportation to replace the blocked Web and support the front lines..."
Komi got goosebumps all over. He seemed to sense what Novia was about to say next, but after waiting for a long time, he still hadn't heard the rest of the sentence. He asked impatiently, "Why did you stop? Keep going!"
Novia's pretty face turned red as she looked at Gu Jiandao expectantly, "That's all, that's all for the first half."
"What about the second half? Don't tell me there wasn't a second half!"
"The second half... the second half is about you. A Primarch led the Legion to find this Blackrock Fortress..."
"And then?" Komi approached, his eyes wide, and lifted Novia up, shouting, "And then!"
"It's gone!" Novia screamed. "It's really gone! I swear in the name of the Pantheon, that's all that clown troupe performed! Please don't hurt my people!"
Fithia also shouted amidst the chaos, "She must be deceiving us! Sage, give the order, and I will cut these spirits into pieces as fine as canned starch!"
"Ugh! Cough..." Koji felt like he had swallowed a fly. He gritted his teeth and put Novia down to let Fitaia calm down.
"Hoo..." Komi sighed. "Since you haven't figured anything out, what makes you think the knowledge in this fortress can save your people?"
Novia immediately tilted her head back, her face showing a sickly expression, and replied, "Because that's knowledge left behind by the ancient saints! They were omniscient and omnipotent! They must have foreseen the predicament our race would face millions of years ago. You must know we are the proud eldest sons of the ancient saints! Would they protect those orcs if they didn't take care of us?!"
Koji was amused, not by Novia's determination to save her people, but by her stubbornness in placing her hopes in something unrealistic.
Were the ancient sages omniscient and omnipotent? If they were truly omniscient and omnipotent, how could they have died so quickly that not even a trace could be found?
But looking at Novia's appearance, Koken knew he couldn't wake someone who was pretending to be asleep.
How does her behavior differ from that of Ifreni, the future leader of the Death Army?
The oracle told her to gather five swords of the old woman to kill Slaanesh. Now we have four, so where is the fifth one?
Oh my god! The fifth sword of the old woman is actually in Slaanesh's palace. We have to defeat Slaanesh to get the fifth sword of the old woman!
Let's try a different approach! If 99.999999% of the remaining Eldar die, Death will awaken, and Slaanesh will be destroyed by Him.
So, if Slaanesh dies, will my race be revived?
Of course not! Our race exhausted its last bit of strength to revive Death, and now the living cannot even defeat the Tau Empire...
Komi felt that Novia's ending was similar; she wanted to find a way to save the Elven race, but in the end, all she could find here was a harsh remark that made her give up on living.
So stupid... Everything about the Eldar is so stupid...
Their decadent gods, their twisted populace, their heightened senses...
Koji covered his face, suddenly wanting to throw his head back and laugh out loud, but just as the first sound of laughter escaped his throat, he suddenly realized a problem.
Whether it's the five old women's swords or the excessively obsessive Novia... they all seem like a cruel joke that gives people hope only to cruelly snatch it away in the end...
And the God of Laughter, Sigucci, loves this kind of cruel joke the most.
Komi felt he had fallen into the God of Laughter's conspiracy, and suddenly heavy footsteps echoed through the quiet corridor.
He looked in the direction of the sound and saw a monster, even more massive and taller than the Dreadnought, walking towards him.
The monster was a Space Marine, and the ancient rust on his armor proved that he was not one of those mixed-up souls, but a real being.
However, compared to the monstrous appearance of the Space Marines, Komi began to miss those illusory and bizarre pure white things.
Black horns, frosty fur, gleaming scales, scarlet eyes, enormous body, sharp spikes on its back, pale skin, withered muscles...
Komi felt that he could see all the genetic defects of the Space Marine Chapters in this one Space Marine.
But what truly terrified Komi was the monster's hoarse utterance.
"Horus...why did you betray us...?"
Phitia asked again, "Who is Horus?"
Komi felt a chill run down his spine as the monstrous, crimson eyes of the Space Marine stared at him. He muttered, "Now we are all Horus..."
Chapter 481: Saint Gillespie...
"Horus...why did you betray us!" the deformed monster roared, his scarlet eyes fixed on the crowd, his overwhelming killing intent almost tangible.
"Destroy this monster! Aim for its head!"
