Komi shouted loudly, and the four combat suits immediately raised their guns and aimed at the monster, unleashing a hail of bullets with a series of bangs.
The bullets struck the monster, peeling away layers of its armor that had been rusted for who knows how many years. The pale flesh beneath the armor was incredibly tough, and the powerful bullets only left shallow dents when they hit it.
The monster wouldn't just stand there and take the beating. Komi watched as his arm swelled up, sprouting hideous bone spikes that transformed into a shield that blocked most of the monster's body.
The bullet shattered part of the shield, causing mineral powder residue to fall to the ground, but these wounds quickly healed and repaired periodically to the sound of the monster's extremely loud heartbeat.
The monster moved clumsily, but its speed was by no means slow; the combination of the two gave its running a strange, deceptive quality.
He seemed to traverse the tens of meters in a single step, moving through the dim corridor and occasionally disappearing for a moment from the enemy marker on his combat suit.
Unsure of his ability to destroy the twisted thing in close combat, Koji reached into the Soul Path and pulled out a handful of cheap but sturdy javelins.
"It is the Saint's spear!" Phitia cheered for Komi, whose spear had become a symbol on the Exterminator and the Port of Nowhere, with many citizens making similar five spears arranged in the shape of hands on the wall.
Komi held his spear, not choosing to aim at the bodies exposed outside the shield, but instead trying to forcefully break through his defenses.
shhhhhh!
Komi swiftly hurled several spears, and the mysterious power carried by the fifth spear puzzled and surprised Novia.
The first spear got stuck in the gap where irregular spikes emerged from the shield; the second and third spears were bounced off; and the fourth spear missed as the monster dodged.
Bang! The fifth javelin struck, the immense force causing it to shatter completely as it pierced the shield, scalding metal fragments splattering all over the monster.
Such an attack was far from enough. Koji reached into his coat and took out more javelins. Novia wondered how his coat could hold so many things.
Soon the shield became riddled with holes and teetering on the brink of collapse, with only some dark red muscle tissue and yellow fat sticking it together.
"Concentrate your firepower!"
Fithia shouted as she took the plasma gun out of her backpack and connected it to the spherical storage tank on her chest with a cable.
Blue plasma bursts explode on the shield, the intense heat melting the biological tissues and causing half of the monster's body to burn. A mouthwatering aroma of burnt food wafts out, accompanied by thick black smoke.
The black smoke spread too quickly; even the smoke grenade launchers installed on the Leman Rustank couldn't match its speed. Soon, the corridor made of black stone became even darker.
Tsk... This thing has incredible vitality. What on earth caused the Space Marines to turn into this terrifying state?
Koji cursed inwardly, then he heard the crisp sound of metal being torn apart. He quickly threw a few spears in the direction of the sound, using the speed to make the smoke flow so that a certain area could be more clearly revealed to him.
The four combat suits were askew, missing arms and legs.
The monster now gripped Filde's combat suit. His arm, which had mutated into a shield and then been torn apart, grew new deformed limbs—a wolf claw covered in thick fur, its sharp claws looking as if they were forged from ice.
As the claws tore through, the mountain-patterned armor plating on Fei Ling's combat suit and the Xuan-style defensive armor underneath were destroyed. Soon, Fei Ling in the cockpit would be dug out and killed.
"Damn it..."
Neither spear-throwing nor sword-wielding charges were enough to save Filde. All Komi could do was hope that the monstrous Space Marine's mind remained in a state of chaos.
"Hey! Holy Blood Angel! Why didn't you conjure up a shovel and an iron bucket? I smashed your father into mincemeat, he's stuck to the floor and can't be pried off! If you like, I can build a meat sauce canning factory, and its name will be Saint Gillespie Sauce, hahahaha!"
Komi easily described the scene that would drive the Holy Blood Angel to madness and plunge it into black fury, and this was extremely effective against the monster that was about to break through the last layer of protection in the cockpit.
May Saint Gilles forgive my verbal offense...
Komi felt a little guilty, thinking that all the Primarchs had some serious illnesses, but Saint Gilles was indescribably perfect compared to his brother.
The monster abruptly stopped moving. It turned to look at Komi and charged at him without uttering a single word, enveloped in thick smoke.
"Horus, how dare you!!!"
The shrill, furious roar made Komi's coat flutter, and he immediately drew his sword and held it in front of him, narrowly blocking the monster's attack!
Holy crap! Is this the strength of a Space Marine?
Komi was certain that even if Markus wore the Terminator armor, he couldn't overpower this monster in terms of strength!
Thrown a hundred meters away, Koji completed a spin in mid-air and slid a distance on the black stone floor to dissipate the force. He felt that the bones in his arms were almost shattered. Before he could catch his breath, the monster charged at him again, covered in thick smoke.
Damn it! That was too much of a sarcastic remark!
Komi gritted his teeth, suppressing his physical discomfort, and kept his eyes fixed on the monster's movements, trying to dodge.
The icy, sharp claws swept across, and in a moment of desperation, Komi performed a difficult backward lean. Antoine's court swordsmanship was not only suitable for combat, but also for making his stiff body flexible.
Using the momentum from leaning back, Komi raised one foot and kicked the monster in the chest, trying to escape a greater distance.
But to everyone's surprise, this kick caused Koji's boot to stick to the monster's flesh. Now, instead of using the kick to back away, Koji was even closer to the monster.
Horus! You will die by my hand!
Koji wasn't afraid of the approaching claws. He had previously obtained a fragment of an ancient coin that could protect him, but he never imagined that this life-saving item wouldn't be used in the battle against Abaddon, but would instead be taken away by a twisted monster.
"I will never allow you to harm a saint!"
With an angry roar and the roar of four chainsaws, Phitia clung to the monster's spiked back and launched a frenzied attack on its thick, swollen neck.
Chapter 482: The Spirit Race: Give Luda Oil!
The chainsaw, imbued with demonic power, tore through the monster's flesh, releasing the thick, viscous, greasy blood plasma, before severing the cervical vertebra covered by armor-like bones.
Even after mutating into this distorted form, the monster's body still remained within the realm of living beings. When the neural structure connecting its head and torso was destroyed by Fithia, the claw that was slashing at Komi became powerless.
Komi straightened his leg, which was stuck to the monster's torso, tightened his core, and twisted his entire body to the side to avoid the claw. He said with immense relief, "Well done, Fithia!"
But that was all Fithia could do. Such a short time was not enough for her to completely destroy the monster's head. A horn suddenly burst out from the monster's helmet and pierced through Fithia's body.
"Ugh!" Fithia screamed in agony. Her current modifications did not allow her to ignore the pain coming from her nervous system. Her abdomen had been pierced, and her stomach and intestines, which were used to digest food, had been squeezed behind her by the sharp horn. Blood and engine oil were splattered all over the monster.
The sharp horns continued to extend, pulling Fetia further and further away from the monster. She could only watch helplessly as the torn cervical vertebrae healed once more, and then the saint she worshipped and loved would die under the monster's claws.
She wouldn't allow that to happen...
Fithia gritted his teeth and swallowed blood. Since the four sharp chainsaws couldn't touch the monster, he would use them to tear himself apart!
She ruthlessly disemboweled herself, letting the two spherical energy storage devices installed on her chest smash into the monster's wounds. Uncontrolled plasma flowed out, melting the monster's neck.
Komi seized the opportunity, using his legs and waist to pull himself up, and with both hands he grabbed the monster's flesh and tore at the front of its neck, finally ripping its head off.
Having lost its mind, the monster became nothing more than a lump of flesh twitching with its remaining vitality. It swayed a few times and collapsed to the ground.
Komi was trapped underneath, and it took him a lot of effort to climb out. He immediately jumped behind the monster, cut off the sharp horn that was wearing the Fetia, and then caught her as she fell.
Fitaia's condition was terrible. The gash in her abdomen was so big that a cannon barrel could fit through it, and four chainsaws had torn her chest apart as well. Only her spine and head remained intact. Komi could feel the warm flesh and cold cables sliding out of her body and into his hands.
Before long, Phitia will die here, and then become a broken brick in the hall.
The bricks formed from the souls of mechanical monks are always incomplete. Koken doesn't know why, but he knows that the less flesh and blood they have and the more mechanical parts they have, the more incomplete their soul bricks become.
"Fitia, can you still hear me?" Komi asked with concern. He was prepared to bleed Fitia and feed her his blood. He had saved many lives with his blood, but Fitia's situation was somewhat special.
She wasn't a Space Marine, just a mortal with some mechanical modifications. Even the demon chosen by Koga couldn't elevate her body to the level of a superhuman.
Fitia blinked slowly, the pain of tearing her body to this state was consuming her sanity, but she regained a moment of clarity when she heard Komi's voice.
She opened her mouth, but because she couldn't get any air out and her vocal cords were vibrating, she couldn't say anything.
“You have done well, Phitia. Your courage and loyalty will be seen by the Savior. Now drink this blood.” Komi’s voice softened as he fed Phitia a mouthful of blood from his palm.
She swallowed weakly, the blood sticking to her mouth and throat, but it wasn't enough; her life was clearly slipping away faster than the blood could heal her.
A machine is needed to temporarily fill the gap in her organ supply...
"Take a break first." Koji gently placed Fitaia on the ground. He scanned the surrounding battlefield and saw Felix's hand emerge from the cockpit of her combat suit.
Komi rushed over and found that Feiling was unharmed but her face was full of pain. This was because her consciousness, which was integrated into the machine body, resonated with the pain of the machine soul.
Grabbing someone by the neck and slapping them hard—that's Komi's method of maintaining composure.
Fei Ling slowly woke up. She stared at Gu Jian for a moment before asking, "Is that monster dead?"
Koji wiped the blood from his mouth with the back of his hand and replied, "We ripped her head off, she should be dead." Then he reached out and tried to pull Feiling out of the wrecked combat suit.
Fei Ling blushed slightly as she looked at Gu Jian's hands, but she still remembered the driving rules. She reached behind her head and unlocked the brain-computer interface. Then she closed her eyes and slowly moved her body. A sound of flesh being slowly torn apart reached Gu Jian's ears.
Ugh... It hurts the same whether it's inserted or pulled out... No matter how many times I experience it, it doesn't lessen at all...
Fei Ling touched the back of her head; only a drop or two of blood had flowed from the tiny, pinprick-sized wound.
Only after doing all this did she take Komi's hand and leave the cockpit of the combat suit.
Upon seeing the monster's cold corpse, Fei Ling's face paled as she asked, "Merciful savior, what exactly was that thing? A corrupted Space Marine?"
“An ancient Space Marine, so ancient that no one knows about them,” Komi replied casually, then went to check the condition of the other combat suits.
Ma Wen, Gates, and Ella were all unharmed and woke up after receiving a refreshing and invigorating treatment.
The inspectors found that only the half-spirit Fuda had disappeared in the melee, along with the other spirits.
“Disgraceful aliens... They have absolutely no sense of honor in battle! All they know how to do is retreat when faced with danger!” Ella cursed angrily as she disassembled the multi-barreled Howler shotgun and the intact Xuan-style defensive armor from her combat suit.
Meanwhile, the others were performing emergency surgery on Fithia, stitching up her wounds with cables from their combat suits and using steel plates to support her broken bones.
This is the only thing they can do right now, to slightly delay Fithia's passing.
Komi had never held any hope for the Spirit Race, and now, even knowing they had cowardly fled, he was too lazy to criticize them. He kept an eye on Fithia's condition while calling to Dog and Mimi, instructing them to track down the Spirit Race's location.
“Head…” the two demons said weakly, “The environment here is too oppressive and stagnant. Even your domain is like a lively karaoke bar compared to this place. We have done our best to respond to you. Asking us to find someone… is really impossible. I have a feeling we will fall into a deep sleep halfway and become part of those ghostly white passages.”
"Is that so...?"
Komi didn't force the two demons, after all, in the pale passage earlier, Kranka and the Eldar were as if their souls had been stripped away, their limbs weak and powerless. It was as if something here was devouring the vitality of nature, allowing creatures to live only in a twisted, zombie-like state.
I hope those spirits don't kill Fuda... I haven't figured out what the use of half-spirit blood is yet.
The group disassembled the combat suits and even removed a square iron plate to place Fitaia on. They lifted Fitaia by its four corners and looked to Komi for instructions.
Komi closed his eyes to recall, then pointed in one direction and said, "Let's head that way. As for those spirits, we'll settle accounts with them properly once we get out."
Chapter 483: Too Many Suspects of Horus
Leaving the dead monster and walking through Blackrock Fortress, Komi stood beside the iron plate where Fithia was placed and held her hand to offer some psychological comfort. Although this gesture made the others envious, they couldn't utter any jealous or harsh words, as Fithia's performance had already earned their respect.
Even Filyn, who had always been at odds with Fitia, simply tried to keep her face away from Fitia, silently watching the situation further away.
Komi had no romantic feelings for Fithia; at most, he felt concern for his subordinate.
Fetia cannot die here. Her technique for installing the Xuan-style defensive armor is the best on the Punisher. Her soul returning to the Pure White Hall means that equipment production will be disrupted. Even if we break apart the Sage of the Sem, we still cannot meet the production needs.
As Fita's hands grew colder, Komi fed her a mouthful of blood to keep her alive. His rarely fluctuating gaze was not because he was cold-hearted, but because his thoughts were focused on another matter.
How exactly were those Space Marines created?
