His entire body was covered in deformed limbs, as if all the genetic problems of Space Marines had been combined and erupted at once!

Who did this?

What ancient creatures dwell in Blackrock Fortress?

Or were these Space Marines affected by some terrible force and turned into this?

Koji didn't know the answer to the question, and then he saw Ella, who was walking at the front, raise her fist to signal everyone to stop.

"Enemies!"

Ella didn't speak, but rhythmically twitched her ears, as if sending a telegram to the people behind her.

Komi wanted to go forward and check the situation. He first bent down and comforted Fetia, who had her eyes closed, so that he could pull his hand out. Then he ordered Kranka to put his hand back in.

Kranca did as she was told, and Fithia's hand gripped hers like a pair of pliers.

The pain was intense; Kranka's face contorted in agony as he grimaced and patted his thigh with his other hand to ease the pain.

Standing behind Ella, peeking out with only half his head sticking out, Komi saw a plaza where mutated monsters had gathered. There were nameless space marines with severe mutations, as well as some creatures that were a mixture of beasts and alien species.

“This is not something we can handle…” Komi murmured, his gaze drifting towards a corridor in the distance, where a dim light illuminated a triangular, sealed door.

That was the destination Komi chose based on the map. Compared to the corridors and halls that existed as transportation systems, Komi thought the place behind this door looked like an important central hub.

The whispered breeze and warm air reached Ella's ears, making her feel a ticklish sensation that spread from her ears throughout her body.

"Saint... what do we do?" Ella pursed her lips, suppressing the urge to scratch her ear.

After watching for a while, Komi decided to try the same trick again.

"Do you still have your battlefield recorder?"

"Yes, Sage."

"Give it to me, I need to record a few words."

"Is it the Saint Gillespie sauce you mentioned earlier?"

"Shh..." Koji stuck out a finger and covered Ella's mouth. He said very seriously, "I can say this, but you can't."

Ella stared blankly at Komi, then suddenly stuck out her tongue and licked Komi's finger.

It feels like sandpaper...

Before Komi could react, the unconscious Fetia seemed to sense that her home had been raided, and the hand that was gripping Kranka tightened even more, causing Kranka to kneel on the ground and silently shed tears of pain.

Koji frowned, and seeing Ella's dazed look as she tried to put his finger in her mouth, Koji immediately slapped her.

"Focus your mind!" Koken reminded him, but he knew it had nothing to do with Ella; it was simply because she was too close to him and was affected by the curse.

He took the battlefield recorder, which was originally installed on the combat suit to collect information so that the Sage of Sem could make specific upgrades and modifications to the combat suit.

Komi is now adjusting the recorder's wiring, turning it into a giant loudspeaker.

After adjusting the startup time, Komi assumed a baseball throwing stance, thinking, "Hopefully I won't break this thing..."

He threw it at the sticky back of a monster, and the monster was stunned when it stuck to it.

Huh? What's stuck to my back?

The monster reached out and touched it, just as the recorder started making a sound.

"The San Gilles brand meat sauce cannery, run by master hand-pounded meat maker Horus, has opened..."

The sound echoed, and the mutated Space Marines immediately turned to look at the innocent monster, their numb and bewildered eyes filled with boundless hatred for the word Horus.

"Ow!"

The monsters fought fiercely, mistaking everything around them for Horus.

The long, thin Horus; the short, stout Horus; the seven-headed Horus; the eight-armed Horus...

Horus! Horus! Horus is everywhere! Kill! Kill! Kill! Kill! Kill! Kill!

The monsters showed no mercy, and the square was soon littered with corpses.

Seeing this, Ella couldn't help but ask, "Saint, why do those two words have such a profound influence on these monsters?"

"Don't ask!" Koken glared at Ella with displeasure. This girl really was as curious as a cat. "The more you know, the faster you die, understand?"

"Oh..."

They waited in the shadows for almost half an hour. The monsters' battle had come to an end, and the remaining monsters were broken into pieces. Koji thought this was the perfect time for them to rush towards the corridor door.

Before standing still at the gate, Komi prepared to tear it open with brute force.

Bang bang bang bang bang...

The sound of punches echoed in the corridor and drifted into the square. Upon hearing this, the dying monsters immediately abandoned their hatred for Horus and crowded outside the corridor to try to stop Komi's actions.

"Fire!"

The Roarer shotgun fired again. If they were wearing combat suits, they could have stopped the monsters from advancing, but the individual firepower was too weak. The four of them smashed the broken head of one monster, and another monster stepped over the corpse and roared forward.

Fifty meters... thirty meters... twenty meters...

The monsters drew closer, the muzzle flashes illuminating their hideous faces, and a lingering stench assaulted the senses.

"Prepare to engage the enemy!" Gates drew his saber. He was not afraid of dying at the hands of the monster, for he knew that his loyal soul would stand by his savior's side.

He was brave, but not very useful.

The monster simply raised its hand and slammed him and his knife against the wall. If he hadn't been modified by the beast brew for a long time, this blow would have shattered his internal organs.

Gates struggled to his feet, but before he could even steady himself, he saw a claw coming down on his head...

At this critical moment, the sealed door finally crumbled under Komi's relentless punches.

Then a smell even more ancient and terrifying than these monsters wafted over...

Chapter 484: You are a second, second, second... second legion.

call!call!call!

The gust of wind surging out from behind the door caused Komi to cross his arms to shield himself. The monsters that had tried to stop Komi were so frightened by the aura in the wind that they dared not move and could only retreat step by step with eyes full of awe.

What's in here?

Komi was drenched in cold sweat by this eerie phenomenon, but he gritted his teeth and commanded, "Keep moving forward! There's no turning back until we've explored all the secrets of this fortress!"

He plunged inside, and the rest of the group followed closely behind, while the monsters drifted further and further away from the broken gate.

Any structure in Blackrock Fortress is large enough for the Titan legion to do a square dance, and this room, which exudes an ancient feel, is no exception.

But the room was large yet not empty; many devices were hidden in a thin mist.

Koken initially thought these were machines made of black stone, but upon closer inspection, he discovered that the raw materials for these machines were obtained from living organisms.

The conveyor belt is like tough skin, the gears are like dense bones, the light is maintained by bioelectricity, and the outer wall is covered with vein-like textures.

Everything in this machine is alive; it doesn't operate based on pre-written programs, but rather on the biological instincts that drive it to survive.

Such devices were everywhere in the room, and Koken felt his scalp tingle as he looked at them, wondering if he had stumbled into the playground of the demon Slaanesh.

But these devices are not designed to extract pain...

Komi fiddled with the wet brain, and the device in front of him trembled. Then, a piece of intestine in the distance wriggled and spat out a sticky cube with an eye staring at Komi on it.

It's so weird... The style is similar, but the core is so different. It's like someone is trying to use this kind of bio-machine to replace a real machine.

Upon reaching the center of the room, Komi saw a jet-black throne upon which sat a gigantic corpse. If this thing were human, Komi could only think of Primarchs as beings of such immense size.

However, he could not identify the corpse based on its size. After all, the man's face was indistinct, as if a bunch of intestines had been sealed in a glass jar. His armor was consistent with the style of the throne, and his body was covered with interfaces that connected to the throne.

Komi examined the details of the interface. Inside were purplish-red nerve bundles and some dark red blood vessel networks. These tissues were losing activity and turning somewhat white.

The details on the throne are also very interesting. Countless creature images that Komi has never seen before are densely piled together, and thousands of different faces can be seen on a surface of one square centimeter.

I've only ever seen a similar structure on the throne in a pure white hall, except that the creatures on that throne were arranged more neatly, and their faces didn't scream in pain at first glance.

what is this?

Between the throne armrest and the corpse, Komi saw something that looked like a book. He reached out, picked it up, and opened it. The writing inside was quite unfamiliar.

While he may not be called a language master, Komi believes that his knowledge of written language is quite extensive.

He could understand simple Eldar language, blasphemous demonic language, and even the Orcish language, whose meanings varied greatly depending on tone and context.

But this thing?

What's the difference between this and scribbles?!

Gu Jian frowned and stared at the text for a long time. He patiently turned the pages one by one and finally found some familiar feelings between the lines.

Is this thing in Chinese?

Looking at the square-shaped characters, Koken couldn't help but guess, but it didn't seem right. Was this vertical line Mongolian? Was this character connected by a horizontal line Hindi? And what about these? It looked like a broken ladder... Korean?

These things didn't bother Komi for long, because he found a book with a dictionary function in the crevice on the other side. It was filled with low and high Gothic language that Komi was familiar with, and each word corresponded to that string of familiar yet unfamiliar characters.

Gu Jian compared and translated each word, finally reading them aloud one by one, "Research notes and daily records... Author... Bai Yuheng?"

Isn't "white jade pendant" a name unique to Terran Asian culture? Jade pendant refers to a type of ornament and pendant made of jade, often regarded as a symbol of nobility and purity.

Koji frowned and glanced at the corpse again, thinking, "This thing can't really be a Primarch, can it? A Primarch whose records were erased by the Empire..."

If this Primarch was born with this deformed appearance, Komi could understand why the Empire destroyed all records of his existence.

As Komi continued translating and reading, his suspicions were confirmed by the book "Research Notes and Daily Records" in his hand. The corpse in front of him was Bai Yuheng, the Primarch of the Second Legion, and the monster-like Space Marines guarding outside were his offspring, known as the Legion of the Sons of the Dragon.

His research made Komi increasingly alarmed.

Each of the original entities has its own strengths: some excel at infiltration, some at raids, some at operations, and some at forging...

But none of the Primarchs were skilled in genetic technology; this work seemed to be monopolized by the Imperials and the lunar geneticists.

Before the Emperor found the Primarch, no Primarch could create his own Space Marine Legion; they were merely providers of the Primal Gene.

But after reading the book, Koji realized that not all Primarchs were helpless when it came to genetic problems. One Primarch named Bai Yuheng established his own Space Marine Legion, and before meeting the Emperor, he referred to these powerful modified warriors as the Sons of the Dragon.

He read through the text, trying to unravel the Primarch's past and figure out why he ultimately died in this eerie Blackrock Fortress.

He didn't realize that the back of his hand holding the book was also covered with a layer of vascular flesh that looked creepy. Tentacles extended from the holes in the book cover, tiny ones that could penetrate directly into the gaps between the cells that make up the skin.

When a stinging sensation came from his palm, it was too late for Komi to shake off the book. He felt his consciousness connected to the corpse on the throne, and a jumble of chaotic memories assaulted his mind.
