After all, even if Elaine knew the location of the edge of the hazy sector, this ship was not enough to support long-distance voyages in the warp.

The following days were peaceful. The looted supplies were sealed by Bennett in a warehouse that Faylen was forbidden to enter. Komi also took some steel to make simple repairs to the wounds left on his armor from the battle with the chieftain.

It's clear that the body's former owner, Markus, wasn't good at repairing equipment, so Komi could only rely on the crude techniques he'd learned from hanging out with orcs to make some repairs.

Komi's patched-up armor made him look comical and pathetic. If you put him and Sharon together, most enemies would assume that Sharon was the strongest of the two.

Antoine volunteered to make some decorations for Komi to enhance his master's bravery, but Komi, who never wastes words with him, stopped Antoine's good intentions with a punch.

Komi didn't want the emperor's son's hands, which had touched everything, to grope his armor and then make strange, irritating groans.

Elaine had nothing to do but watch Komi give Antoine three Iron Fist treatments each day, and then follow him to the bridge to learn more obscure and dark warp knowledge from Sharon.

Komi sat to the side with his arms crossed, making sure Sharon didn't say anything useless to Elaine, and pulling Elaine back from the brink of losing control.

On one occasion, Sharon tentatively preached to Elaine, causing the young man, who was deeply influenced by dark knowledge, to bleed from his eyes and lose consciousness.

Upon seeing this, Koji immediately leaped from his seat, placing one foot on Sharon and using increasing pressure to force Sharon to beg for mercy and apologize.

Time flows by, whether quickly or slowly, and the feeling is no longer believable. Only by listening to the hum of the mechanical clock can one tell that another day has passed.

Perhaps because they were too dilapidated, or perhaps because they were inhabited by undead, no warp creature was willing to waste its energy to take a look at the Blind Faith-class raider.

For a voyage, less trouble is a great thing, but for Komi, this peaceful life is driving him crazy.

During the relentless fighting at Red Mining World, Komi longed for a long rest.

Now that he can rest idly on this raider, he is beginning to be tormented by boredom.

Where's my computer? Where's my phone?

Oh... none of those things are there, only a lifeless ship drifting in the warp.

It's like boarding an unmanned train traveling on a fixed track. Komi is a passenger on it, and besides wandering around and looking out the window at the scenery, there's nothing else she can do.

Komi woke up from the bed, while Elaine was curled up on her own board, fast asleep, making soft breathing sounds.

Feeling insecure, she curled up, covered with a blanket made of colorful furs.

This blanket was made by Bennett at Komi's request, because he discovered that Elaine, who lacked the protection of power armor, would always shiver from the cold while sleeping.

This midnight lord is a master at tormenting people, and he's also incredibly efficient at needlework. In less than half a minute, the quilt was freshly made.

The quilt was also filled with Bennett's wicked sense of humor; he had sewn the faces of those wild beasts onto it, making the quilt look like several wild beasts tearing each other apart.

However, Elaine had already gotten used to the horror, and after spending some time getting used to the strange smell, she was able to cover herself with it without any psychological burden.

"Thank you, Master."

Elaine thanked Komi for his kindness, but the longer she spent with him, the less she understood his true character.

The sense of separation between killing and protecting ultimately reminded Elaine of her family's elders who had gone insane from spying on the Warp.

Perhaps his master... is already on the verge of madness?

As for the origin of these furs, you'd have to ask the bored Komi.

During this time, he circled the entire raiding ship, killing all the residents that others had been too lazy to deal with.

Unnamed alien beasts, chaotic creatures from the warp, and various mechanical objects parasitized by demons all became victims of Komi's axe.

He even started passing the time by gluing together the crushed skull fragments; several repaired heads were hung under the patriarch's head.

Staring blankly at the ceiling, Komi listened to Elaine's breathing.

Elaine's breathing was regular, which meant that she had not been invaded from her dreams into the realm of her soul by some demon.

Sometimes Elaine's spirit would attract predators, but Komi would always manage to drive them away when she began to groan in her sleep.

The method, naturally, was to tightly choke Elaine's throat.

This made Antoine, who was deliberately passing by Komi's door, extremely jealous.

Chapter 109: A Heart-to-Heart Talk with My Best Buddies

Koji couldn't sleep for very long each day; the Space Marine's body was far more efficient than that of a mortal.

It's just like those old cell phone ads advertised.

One charge lasts for a year.

Komi got up and sighed at his own excessive wakefulness, unable to even take a nap.

This body robbed him of so much joy that he longed for the ordinary body of a miner.

In the end, he could only get up, and the noise of his heavy body getting off the bed woke Elaine.

She rubbed her sleepy eyes and immediately jumped out of the blankets, which were full of Bennett's wicked humor, and followed behind Komi.

After spending some time together, Elaine found that Komi was actually quite easy to talk to, much more approachable than his eccentric and strange companions.

"Owner."

We pay our respects to the ancients.

Elaine has only two things to do every day: one is to perform the ritual of bowing meticulously.

She needed to use this etiquette to constantly remind herself of her status and situation, lest she lose herself because of Komi's friendliness.

Secondly, they would pray to the emperor every night before and after sleep to ensure that even though they were among heretics, they would not completely fall into the abyss.

Elaine was pessimistic about the role the second point could play, feeling like a rioting cultist in the Void Station, shouting "Long live the Four-Armed Emperor!" and committing unforgivable heretical acts.

Simply learning warp knowledge from a Word Bearer follower was enough to make her an exonerated heretic in the eyes of the Imperium.

"Hmm." Koji nodded, then stared blankly at Elaine, unsure of what to do next.

Seemingly sensing Komi's confusion with her third eye, Elaine suggested that Komi go and see what his brothers were up to.

Komi thought so too, so he took Elaine to the bridge to find Sharon and ask about Bennett's room. He didn't want to have too much contact with the filthy Ferren and the perverted Antoine.

"Praise be to the dark gods, my clever apprentice." Sharon looked at Elaine with a smile. He had only started teaching Elaine because of Komi's influence.

As Elaine absorbed more and more of the dark knowledge he shared without going mad and falling into depravity, he became infinitely curious.

He was curious to see how long Elaine could rely on so-called loyalty to sustain herself. When her faith crumbled and she devoted herself wholeheartedly to the path of destruction, would a beautiful flower of chaos bloom?

This current endeavor will surely make his future missionary work more efficient.

However, Komi didn't bring Elaine here for studying; he simply asked Sharon directly, "Where does Bennet usually stay?"

"What do you want with him? Bennett doesn't have a fixed room. He's always suspicious and can't trust anyone."

"So what are his patterns of behavior?"

"Explore the darkest places?" Sharon gave a vague answer. "If Bennett wants to hide, no one can find him. It's a special skill of the Midnight Lord, that superb affinity for darkness."

"Alright..." Seeing that Sharon couldn't provide any useful information, Komi immediately took Elaine back to the room.

At this point, Sharon asked again, "What do you want with Bennett? Did he steal your skull?"

“No…” Komi replied without turning his head, “I’m just bored…”

This simple sentence sent a chill down Sharon's spine. The last time Komi complained of being bored, he had suggested that Komi go to the lower deck of the ship to relax.

The result was an eighty-day bloody battle. The screams of nameless beasts and demons from the lower levels echoed through the deathly silent ship, making Sharon's scalp tingle.

Now Komi is bored again and wants to find Bennett to relieve his boredom....

Sharon dared not think any further, nor did he dare to stop Komi's steps, for fear that this boring killing god would become interested in him.

He broke out in a cold sweat after Komi's footsteps faded into the distance, and then prayed to the Dark Gods that Komi would not accidentally kill Bennett.

He immediately contacted Antoine and Ferren, hoping to come up with a good way to keep Komi quiet.

Back in the room, Komi threw the animal skin blanket that Elaine had been covering herself into her arms.

Seeing Elaine's confused look, Komi said, "Now is a good opportunity to test your learning. Use this quilt sewn by Bennet to find his location."

Elaine nodded and sat cross-legged on the ground.

Although she loathed Sharon for teaching her blasphemous knowledge, she had to admit that Sharon had opened a new door for her to understand the subspace and psychic powers.

Many spells flashed through her mind, but they were all rejected because she lacked the materials to carry them out. In the end, she obtained a skull from Komi and wrapped a blanket under the skull to make a simple little hill.

If a demon responds to the magic circle's call, this skull and animal hide will become its physical form.

According to Sharon, the demons summoned by this spell are not very powerful; a well-prepared and determined squad of Astragalus light infantry could easily dispel them.

Such spells are generally used only by dark apprentices who have just begun to explore the path of destruction; they are insignificant in the eyes of the dark gods.

Blood was used to inscribe intricate magic circles, and Elaine uttered evil incantations, all of which were drawing beings from certain subspaces to this place.

The skull hung in mid-air, its eye sockets growing ever darker and deeper. The upper and lower jaws clashed repeatedly, weaving whispers. Finally, a dark substance flowed from the skull, polluting the animal skin blanket and solidifying into the form of a demon.

Making demons do things is never without a price to pay. Elaine could only pray that the demons attracted by the ritual wouldn't have too big an appetite, since she could offer nothing but blood and chastity.

The demon demanded Elaine's radiant soul, her navigator. Of course, Elaine was unwilling to offer her own soul, so she tried to bargain with the demon.

"How about a bowl of fresh blood? Sharon said the navigator's blood tastes very good."

"A bowl of fresh blood? Are you trying to fetch a beggar?"

Enraged by Elaine's perfunctory attitude, the demon's skull, covered with an animal skin blanket, dangled higher and higher in the air, its dark form becoming increasingly solid, eventually taking on a canine shape.

“But I really can’t offer any other sacrifices…and my soul has long been controlled by others.”

"What kind of ritual are you holding without offerings?" The demon, who resembled a hound, insulted Elaine mercilessly. He had seen many fools who had tried to grasp a sliver of knowledge about the warp, but he had never seen anyone as unprepared as Elaine.

The skull's eyes gleamed with hunger, and the beast face on the blanket came to life, roaring at Elaine in unison.

The demonic hound wasn't going to waste any more words with Elaine; it was planning to swallow her whole and slowly digest her soul.

The spirit of the demon's contract is closely related to the strength of the summoner. A weak person who rashly summons these immoral beings will only lead himself to a hell without redemption.

However, Elaine was not alone. Just as the demonic hound lunged at Elaine, a large, scarlet hand grabbed its head tightly, using immense force to warn the demonic hound not to do anything foolish.

"Who? Damn it! Let me go, you coward who dared to ambush me!" The demon dog roared as it turned its head 180 degrees, and immediately became docile when its eyes met Komi's.

He was certain that he could not defeat this World Devourer.
