The strong and the weak are clearly distinguished, and their affiliation is clearly defined.

The Demonhound is not under the command of the Four Gods. He is a masterless demon who relies on his instinctive keenness to avoid those overly dangerous demon devourers, avoid the ancient battlefields where the gods never cease to exist, and occasionally respond to the call of the magic circle, growing stronger through one deal and betrayal after another.

Even if they are banished, there's nothing to be afraid of. Warp demons rarely die in the true sense; they can solidify again in just a while.

Weapons capable of killing demons are extremely rare; if you happen to come across one, you might as well cheer for your good luck.

But the current situation is quite unusual for the Demon Dog.

Slaves of the god of war and blood?

Why didn't I smell a strong, pungent odor of blood and sulfur before?

The demon hound cursed inwardly. Demons of their low rank never dared to address the gods by their names. Even the Emperor, who was on the verge of godhood, was referred to by the dried corpse on the throne.

He didn't know what he should do. Based on his understanding of the Blood God, His followers only knew how to hack and slash and kill.

This Blood God slave will tear him apart and offer him to the Blood God himself; he will then be forced to become a brick in the Blood God's war domain.

From then on, freedom was gone, replaced by headcount KPIs and relentlessly demanding colleagues weighing on him...

Caw! I don't want that kind of future!

The demon hound grew increasingly nervous, and the beast mask on the blanket adopted a pleading, crying expression.

Komi sensed the fear in the demon hound, and gestured with his chin, indicating that Elaine should continue communicating with the creature.

Elaine walked up to the skull and, taking advantage of Komi's imposing presence, presented the demon hound with the terms of the deal she had just made.

"How about we talk about half a bowl of fresh blood now?"

Why is there even a bargaining involved?

The demon dog's chin twitched with a mixture of anger and helplessness as it agreed to the price Elaine offered.

“He’s willing to help us now.” Elaine breathed a sigh of relief; this was the first time she had summoned a demon using the method Sharon had taught her.

They even outsmarted the devil, using a little trick to minimize their losses, though not too much.

This technique is also based on Sharon's experience: fair trade can only be discussed when both sides are of equal strength. When there is a gap in strength, the stronger party must make good use of its advantages.

Although this was ultimately due to Komi's influence and had nothing to do with her own strength, it was still a good start.

Elaine took out the sacrificial dagger that Sharon had given her, slashed it at her arm, and a large amount of blood flowed from the wound and was collected in a metal bowl.

The unique scent of blood, exclusive to navigators, lured Komi into the demon dog he was holding, making him as impatient as a Labrador Retriever waiting for its meal.

Just seconds before, this demonic dog had mocked Elaine's asking price, saying it was like trying to fool a beggar.

He offered half a bowl of blood to the demon hound, from which a long, black, thread-like tongue emerged from its skull.

At this moment, Koji pressed down on the demon dog's skull, making its upper and lower teeth firmly bite down on the tongue, preventing it from extending. "No rush, give him the blood after he finishes his work."

"Huh? But Sharon said..."

"Are you going to listen to that idiot Sharon or to me?" Komi asked impatiently, tapping the demon hound's skull with his fingers.

“Of course I will listen to you.” Elaine had no intention of disobeying Komi, and placed the blood bowl on the ground under the hungry gaze of the demon hound.

The demon dog was on the verge of tears. He didn't like tasting cooled blood, but he was firmly controlled by Komi's big hand and had no choice but to obey the guy's orders and work obediently.

"Smell your skin and lead us to the location of the person who smells like this."

At Komi's command, the demon dog sniffed the animal skin blanket it was using, and the complex scent of death wafted into its nostrils.

He wasn't stupid; he knew that certain scents weren't what Komi wanted, so he used his nose to analyze the arrogant, self-important scent unique to Bennett.

Komi let go of his hand, and the demon dog sniffed as it walked towards the door.

The two followed behind the demon dog. Elaine stopped the bleeding from her wrist and took a blood-soaked iron bead from Komi's hand and put it in her mouth.

These iron beads were made by Komi cutting off the rivet caps from his shoulder armor. The blood on them was naturally from Komi's body, which ensured that Elaine's body remained healthy and wouldn't die from some strange disease.

Ferren was quite curious about Elaine's good health, and even cooked a plate of maggot spaghetti and served it at Komi's door.

Elaine did not accept the offer, while Komi was so disgusted by the maggot spaghetti that he almost coughed up tears. After purifying the entrance with Promethium Fire, he picked up Antoine, who was clinging to him, at a gathering and threw him hard at Ferren.

The two men were entangled together, and Bennett and Sharon laughed heartily at their ridiculous antics.

The demon hound walked into the main ventilation duct in the middle of the ship. The structure here was quite complex, with ventilation ducts from many compartments and corridors converging here.

The subsequent addition of pipes and repair work exacerbated the chaos in the main pipeline. Komi felt as if he were walking through a thorny thicket of pipes, having to constantly bend down to avoid the abrupt bends in the pipes.

Looking at the wagging buttocks of the demon dog, Koken couldn't help but ask Elaine what the demon dog's true form looked like.

Elaine tried to answer the question seriously, using her third eye to see through the demonic nature hidden behind the skull and animal skin blanket.

You can only see a rough outline; it doesn't really look like a dog. This is because it only has four long, withered legs, and no neck or tail extending from the front or back.

With her head integrated into the front of her long, thin body, Elaine tried to summarize everything she had discovered in more concise terms, and ultimately gave Komi such a comical answer.

"His true appearance looks like a sausage with four toothpicks stuck in the middle, and then a face pieced together with black spots... a very abstract and crude one."

How abstract and rudimentary is it?

Elaine organized her thoughts, suppressing a smile as she softly replied, "It's like dipping your fingers in water and flicking them a few times onto dry sand."

"Ah... then the skull actually enhances his appearance."

"That's true."

The conversation between the two greatly displeased the demon dog walking in front. It had just let out a few angry growls when Komi shut it up with a cold glare.

Continuing along the ventilation duct, an hour later the Demon Dog finally found Bennett's secret hideout.

Komi didn't thank the demon dog for its work. After approaching the door, he kicked open the rusty hatch with a powerful kick.

The hatch suddenly swung open, and amidst the painful groans of metal, Komi could hear indistinct human voices.

Then came the clicking sound of something shutting down, and a dark shadow flashed past Koji's eyes as a lightning claw, gleaming with an eerie light, attacked his head.

Komi's movements were even faster than the panicked counterattack. He dodged the lightning claw by turning to the side and grabbed the attacker's arm with one hand, while his other hand reached for the body of the demon hound that was curiously peering inside.

The demon hound was startled and crashed into the hard armor the next second.

Chapter 111: Bennett's Little Secret

The demon dog howled and limped to the side.

Bennett, who had launched the attack, staggered after being struck by the thing. Komi stepped forward and grabbed Bennett by the throat, using just the right amount of force to warn him to stop attacking.

“Heh…” Bennett gave Komi a stiff smile. When he saw the demon dog, he understood how Komi had found him.

Now all Bennett wanted to ask Komi was, "Marcus... what are you trying to do?"

Komi released his grip and, under the devil dog's angry but unspeakable gaze, leisurely replied, "I was bored, so I came to see what you've been up to."

"So bored..."

Bennett choked on his answer, coughing a few times before recovering. "I can't play any blood games with you. You might as well go find Antoine. He knows a lot of dark and perverted ways to play, and he'd be happy to cater to your emptiness."

Then his gaze swept past Komi and landed on Irene.

Elaine felt as if she were being dissected by Bennett's gaze, every blood vessel and nerve exposed to his eyes, awaiting the onslaught of torture.

"You can also bring your little pet along; Antoine will surely be able to arrange a suitable spot for her to participate..."

Elaine blushed, turning her head away in embarrassment and annoyance, ignoring Bennett.

Komi pushed Bennett's chest, pinning him against the wall, and said coldly, "Watch your words, Midnight Lord. I am not a damned son of an emperor!"

You are indeed not the son of an emperor, but you are a mad world-devourer! We're evenly matched! Bennett cursed inwardly.

Bennett was feeling a bit suffocated by the pressure. He chuckled, feigning innocence with a mocking tone, "You say you're bored, so I'll give you a way to relieve your boredom. Whether you like it or not is up to you."

"Heh..." Komi responded with a cold laugh, then remembered the voices that had been flowing out when the metal hatch was open, so he asked, "And you? Who were you talking to?"

Bennett's expression changed, and even though he knew that Bennett could not defeat Komi, he revealed a bloodthirsty hostility. "Marcus, my affairs are none of your business."

Having caught Bennett red-handed, Komi naturally wanted to make good use of it. He looked at the demon dog that was sniffing around against the wall and shouted, "Dog, search carefully for me."

Dog?

This title is too crude and vulgar; even a demon wouldn't accept it.

Determined to fight for his dignity, the demon dog wanted to help Bennett, who was pinned against the wall, and together they took down the unreasonable world-devourer.

He opened his skull and twisted his long, black tongue into a spiral thorn, aiming it at Komi's head.

Gu Jian hadn't expected the demon hound to choose such a good time to backstab him, and instinctively turned his face to dodge the demon hound's attacking long tongue.

The long tongue pierced through the helmet and went in through the megaphone grille.

Just an inch ahead are Komi's lips and teeth. With a single upward thrust, the demon hound can pierce the back of Komi's head, severely injuring the world-devourer who humiliated him.

The long tongue passed through the lips and teeth, gliding through Komi's mouth which was secreting acidic saliva. Just as it was about to reach Komi's throat, the tongue was firmly fixed and could not move forward an inch.

"Ugh...ugh..." The demon dog dragged and pulled, its long tongue unable to return, only feeling Komi's teeth slowly slicing it open like two guillotines.

Once the long tongue was severed, the demon dog howled and curled up to the side, unable to move, only able to utter some pitiful whimpers.

The tongue that Komi bit off lost its sticky properties and became exceptionally smooth, sliding down Komi's mouth with a gurgling sound.

How did I end up swallowing it?

Koji was startled. Before he could even think about the effects of consuming a part of the demon's body, a strong, bitter coffee flavor returned from his stomach to his mouth.

He clicked his tongue, and his gaze toward the demon dog held a hint of something indescribable.

Elaine was completely caught off guard; she only saw the demon dog stick out its tongue before curling up into a ball and whimpering.

As the apprentice who summoned the demon, Elaine approached the demon dog and asked it how it was doing.

Bennett witnessed the entire process of the demon hound's sneak attack and its failure, and even heard the gulping sound of Komi swallowing his severed tongue and the soft "oh" that it tasted good.

His mind was a mess because of all this information, and it exploded when Komi's gaze fell on him. Then, he suppressed his fear and trembling and spoke to Komi.

"Heh... If you really wanted to know, why did you have to involve this demon? As comrades and the only two normal people in this team, we should be closer."

"Oh? Really? But what you just did..."

"The past is the past, the present is the present."

Bennett's serious and earnest answer amused Komi, but seeing him give in, she released her grip on him, allowing him to leave the embrace against the wall.

Bennett breathed a sigh of relief upon confirming that Komi had no appetite for him, and then showed the hidden items to Komi.
