"Waaaaah!" The Chaos servants were cut into pieces, their wounds turning to charcoal in an instant, giving no chance for blood to flow.
The Chaos Space Marines were startled and instinctively dodged the laser attacks. Their speed did indeed cause Demas some trouble.
However, this furious fearlessness was not a lone battle. Komi activated the chainsaw sword and controlled the Terminator power armor to run at high speed.
He believed that Demas could control the deadly lasers so they wouldn't hit him. Providing fire support for comrades engaged in close combat is a skill that almost every Space Marine must learn.
The chainsaw swords clashed fiercely, but Komi still managed to firmly suppress the chainsaw swords wielded by both hands with just one hand. Taking advantage of this opportunity, Komi extended several spikes from his mechanical arm and struck the enemy in front of him fiercely.
Komi's simple fighting style demonstrated that his combat strength far exceeded that of these raiders, and dozens of enemies soon died under his fists.
In the end, only the warlord remained, panting at the feet of the ancient man, his panicked face trying to utter words of pleading for mercy.
Koken, too lazy to listen, simply stomped on his head and crushed it.
"I still remember what you said... The weak are not worthy of joining my battle gang." Demas couldn't help but sigh as he watched Komi's clean and efficient execution. Komi curled his lips and remained aloof, offering no reply.
They left the corpses behind, gathering the steel warriors loyal to Demas as they made their way towards a towering cooling tower.
“If we can blow up the base of that thing, the devastating collapse will create a passage directly to the Demon's Womb area,” Demas warned. “Are you sure you want to do this? I mean, even if your friends don’t die from the many modifications made to the Demon's Womb, they could very well die in this collapse.”
To Demas's concerns, Komi simply chuckled, replying with a confident yet slightly mad tone, "Go ahead and bomb them. They're tough guys; they won't just die here like this."
"Heh...you guys really are..." Demas thought for a long time, finally finding only one simple word to describe it, "Interesting..."
He then ordered the Iron Warriors to launch rockets. These missiles, forged with the demon, were guided and, guided by Demas, crashed deep underground into the cooling tower and exploded.
The collapse and fall of the cooling tower seemed insignificant amidst the shattered steel fortress engulfed in war.
Komi rushed into the smoke and dust. Demas glanced deeply at Komi's back before heading to the secret dark harbor where the Marauder-class battleships were sealed, as they had agreed beforehand.
"I swear in the name of the Primarch, I will wait for you until the very last moment when the Shattered Steel Fortress falls."
Chapter 144: We're Not Going to the Devil's Womb
If you put two Space Marines and a mortal who know a lot about the situation at Broken Steel Castle together and ask them the same question: What place would you least like to go?
The answers obtained may be surprisingly consistent.
We don't want to go to the Devil's Womb area.
As a production area, the environment here is quite terrible.
The Hell Factory is known for its intense labor. Thanks to the deliberate maintenance of the Iron Warriors, the factory is exceptionally clean when it stops operating. The regular steel is free of any graffiti or decoration, and there are no strange creatures or demonic faces hiding in the dark corners.
But the situation in the Demon's Womb was the complete opposite of the Hell Factory. Countless meat hooks hung from the top of the towering corridors, where slaves who were too weak to be considered laborers by the Iron Warriors were hung to slowly bleed to death.
The special drug on the hooks allows people to utter cries of agony even in their final moments before death, and the millions of hooked slaves form an endless chorus within the Devil's Womb.
Their blood dripped onto the floor, and piles of flesh and blood debris lay at the vertical angle between the wall and the floor. The steel warriors used mindless automatons to do the most basic cleaning work, ensuring that the clutter piled up in the corridor did not obstruct their path.
The environment here is so terrifying that even a machine servant whose brain has been cut out and who has completely lost the ability to think will gradually go insane during long hours of work.
Much of the output and trade revenue of Broken Steel Castle is consumed in this brutal region, much like a mother constantly ingesting more and more nutrients to nourish a healthy child.
If you have any pity for those slaves hanging on hooks, their fate is far better than that of the true queens of the devil's womb.
Outside the tightly closed gates were countless prison cells containing slaves, arranged in three passageways along the edge of the most central area.
A corridor was filled with strong men from leather farms. They would be dragged out and skinned alive, their bloodied remains minced into meat paste, mixed with drugs to keep the prisoners sane and prolong their lives.
A passageway was filled with fattened women, who were controlled on a feeding table like livestock to be raised for thick foie gras. A tube was inserted straight into their throats, giving them no chance to refuse.
Blasphemous runes were inscribed around the feeding platform, using the endless pain within this demonic womb as a source of energy to distort the life structure of these women, allowing their bodies to expand to their limits layer by layer without exploding.
The bulging belly was no longer fat and an enlarged stomach, but a deliberately twisted, enormous uterus. The maturity of this uterus meant that these female slaves could undergo the next step of modification: removing all unnecessary organs and inserting chemical cables to serve their destructive ambitions.
At this point, the prisoners in the last passage also came in handy. They were all underage children, filled with boundless fear of the world, and were stuffed into that inhuman womb to undergo transformation.
Captured gene seeds or the mutilated corpses of Space Marines were pulverized into a paste and injected into the demon's womb via chemical cables, attaching themselves to the children.
The whispers of demons and chaotic genetic material swelled within the children's bodies, making them like insects waiting to metamorphose from their cocoons, tearing through the old skin that bound them to become powerful warriors qualified to wear power armor.
Skinless people were splashed out along with amniotic fluid. Some of them passed the test, donned fresh human skin, and pledged allegiance to the cause of destruction.
Some were identified as scrap and were thrown into a blender to be crushed and recycled...
Those steel warriors who oversaw the Demon's Womb district and remained loyal to Demas's orders have died or been captured for their betrayal, but the factory continues to operate. The warriors loyal to Honso believe that Broken Steel Castle will become Honso's territory in the blink of an eye, and there is no need to worry about Demas cleaning house.
The fighting above was fierce, while below it was gloomy and resentful.
Elaine was fitted with a collar that suppressed her psychic powers and was personally handed over by a steel warrior to the Dark Mechanicus monks, who were clad in tattered red robes and had undergone mechanical modifications beyond recognition.
To be more specific, the Demonic Womb was not created by the Iron Warriors, but by the Dark Mechanicus monks who, in their quest to reach the pinnacle of technology, resorted to any means necessary, including inhumanity, and called themselves the Savage Funeral Masters.
Honsau's deal largely involved allowing these Dark Mechanicus monks to work under Demas. Although Demas loathed the Dark Mechanicus monks conducting dirty and chaotic experiments in his shattered steel fortress, he didn't question their work much because the Demon Womb was constantly producing warriors.
Elaine was deathly pale. The clothes she had changed into in the Broken Steel Fortress were ripped to shreds by the Dark Mechanicus monks' claws, leaving her body exposed to the air in a state of extreme shame.
However, neither the Iron Warrior nor the Dark Mechanicus monks looked at her pale body with any strange gaze; the eerie, shimmering look emanating from their eyepieces was more like an old woman examining fresh pork at a market.
"Healthy...Active! Material grade: Excellent...This material can be used to repair the Demon's Womb."
The Dark Mechanicus monk's voice had no human quality whatsoever; it was a purely mechanical sound that made even the Iron Warrior feel deeply uncomfortable. He was very interested in the repair issues the Dark Mechanicus monk raised.
"I had no idea that thing could be repaired."
The Dark Mechanic monk, shaking his modified machinery somewhat nervously, replied, "Of course it can be repaired. If it can be produced, it can be repaired. If it can be repaired, it can be produced. Repair materials are quite scarce; in most cases, the damaged parts can only be replaced with new ones."
"What happened to that damaged demon's womb?"
"The modified creature inside was too active and damaged the lining of the demon's womb, requiring minimally invasive repair. I need to fill it with the supplies you have."
In just a few words, Elaine's fate was sealed. She was powerless to escape the clutches of the Dark Mechanicus monks and could only be dragged toward the room where the demon's womb was sealed.
When Elaine saw the demon's womb, she felt like she was about to collapse. She had never seen such a terrifying creation, even in the demon's palace.
The woman's head was empty; her features had been blocked for so long that Elaine could no longer tell whether it was the front or the back of her head.
A gigantic stomach, its skin bulging with over-expanded lines, and an open, demonic uterus dripping warm amniotic fluid and emitting an indescribable odor.
At this moment, the ailing and dying human empire revealed its true glory and righteousness.
Chapter 145: If you miss me, I will descend to your side.
The Dark Mechanic monk wouldn't waste words on a material. He bound Elaine, moving with extreme care to ensure the integrity of the repair, afraid of even scratching her skin or wasting a drop of blood.
As her head drew closer to the dark, deep entrance of the palace, Elaine prayed to the Emperor in vain, receiving no response. In the end, only one name echoed in her despairing heart.
Her master... her only trustworthy master in this mad warp... Markars...
The enormous roar and tremor interrupted the Dark Mechanicus monk's movements. He looked up at the ceiling, trying to figure out where the tremor was coming from.
The ceiling collapsed the next moment, and countless pieces of rubble and scrap steel fell together. The entire Demon Womb area almost lost its ability to continue operating under the heavy blow of the cooling tower.
"What chaos is going on! What are those fleshy sacks up there stirring up!" The Dark Mechanicus monk didn't die in the chaos; he even managed to protect Elaine.
The demon's womb was struck in the stomach by a stone, and its head shook violently.
The Dark Mechanic immediately leaped to her side, preparing to roughly shove Elaine inside to stabilize the demon's womb.
A cold glint flashed past the side of the Dark Mechanicus monk, severing all the mechanical tentacles binding Elaine before he had any chance to react.
The Dark Mechanicus monk, attempting to identify the attacker, was instead struck in the chest by a heavy iron fist, his head shattering amidst crackling sparks and his own scientific ambitions.
“Master…” Elaine slumped to the ground, staring at the huge figure in the smoke and dust, unable to believe what she was seeing. Koji glanced back at the navigator who had almost been stuffed into her womb and ordered the dog to protect her.
The dog forcefully split its body in two and covered Elaine with it, giving her a sense of security like a thick, warm blanket.
"Where are the others?" Komi asked directly, addressing the most pressing question. Elaine, snapping out of her daze, quickly replied to Komi.
"They were captured by the Iron Warriors! They were stripped of their armor and sent here with me."
Well... these guys are definitely going to get beaten to a pulp.
But as long as they are still alive, it means they haven't turned into mush.
Can the dog lead the way?
The dog barked, sniffing at Bennett and the others, "It's difficult... the smells here are too complicated! I can't find their scent at all..."
Koji pursed his lips tightly, feeling Elaine very close to him at that moment.
He suddenly remembered something. The reason he was able to find Elaine so quickly was because of her faint, unadulterated prayers, just like when he was trapped in the pit of flesh and was silently prayed for by Mi Yang and others.
If...if this really works...then Antoine, you...
Komi's mind flashed with Antoine's shy, adorable face. At this moment, he truly hoped that this emperor's son, whom he so despised, would miss him a little more in this godforsaken place.
He immediately set off, intending to explore the Devil's Womb district based on his intuition, and took a gamble that he could wander around Antoine.
Before leaving, Koken heard the faint groans of the demon's womb. He glanced at it, felt a pang of pity, and beheaded her, giving her a swift death.
That chaotic and hopeless soul thanked Koken deeply before disappearing completely into the vast tide of souls in the subspace.
......
What's happening outside?
"It was probably a naval shell that landed on our heads... Let's get back to work."
The steel warriors stripped the armor off the corpses one by one, then stuffed their naked bodies into a mixer and crushed them.
Bennett and his companions were hung in a special slaughterhouse, where the binding platform, specially designed for Space Marines, became their prison of fate.
This place is not only home to members of the Losers' Warband, but also to Iron Warriors who survived the War of Betrayal, as well as Space Marines from other Warbands who were captured and imprisoned here earlier.
Some, like Bennett and his companions, remained intact, while others were mutilated beyond recognition and began to frantically beg anyone who passed by to end their lives.
"Damn it..." Bennett cursed under his breath. He was unable to move and could only watch as the Iron Warriors began to feed a Iron Warrior who was still able to resist into the grinder and turn him into a paste.
Some of the steel warriors with spare time even took matters into their own hands, using knives to slowly cut off the flesh and blood of their enemies, collecting it in a bloody dish before throwing it into a shredder.
Such a fate was bound to befall them sooner or later, and at this moment, these people could only place their hopes for survival on Komi, who had not yet returned, and Sharon, who was always unreliable.
"Shalang... use your invincible magic to think of a way..." Antoine said through gritted teeth. Sharon was already sweating profusely from the soul-wrenching screams.
"I can't do it... That ever-changing demon lord is affecting my magic..."
"Damn it!" Ferren cursed for Antoine. "Sharon, your magic is the most useless! Just as useless as you!"
Everyone was naked, their armor stripped off and contained, and no one felt they had too much power armor.
Bennett wasn't worried about his own fate, but rather about the torment and humiliation Hela would suffer. He knew Hela had a stubborn nature, and if these steel warriors dared to lock him, their client, in this slaughterhouse, his Hela would surely be whipped by those terrible instruments of torture until she was unable to resist.
