She began to sing an ancient hymn.
"The Lord of Gold sits on his throne."
The monster's first claw lashed out at her face.
She dodged to the side, and the power rapier pierced the monster's abdomen.
"The father of mankind, who sees the stars."
The second claw tore open her shoulder armor, and blood splattered on her face.
She gritted her teeth and refused to back down. Her boots slid half a step on the gravel before firmly stopping.
"Our flesh and blood are offered to the Empire."
She gripped the sword with both hands and thrust it upwards through the monster's chest cavity.
"Our souls return to your throne."
The orc collapsed, convulsing.
She drew her sword, staggered, and nearly fell to her knees.
The veteran behind him, panting, said:
"Miss."
Aurelia turned around, her eyes fierce as if she wanted to kill someone.
"You'd better have some last words."
The veteran grinned, revealing a mouthful of bloody teeth.
"You sang off-key."
Aurelia glared at him.
"Shut up, you old man."
The veteran laughed so hard his chest was practically leaking air.
"But he's better than our group's pastor. That old dog's singing sounds like he's been hit in the balls by a cannonball."
Aurelia smiled too.
The next second, the explosion shattered the laughter.
The orc leader charged forward.
The monster was a size larger than the orcs around it, with three human heads hanging on its body, and the large cleaver in its hand looked like armor plates taken from a tank.
It cleaved through the cover in front of Viktor with a single strike.
Gravel and steel bars flew everywhere.
Viktor dodged to the side, his power rapier piercing the orc leader's armpit.
The blade cut into the muscle, but got stuck in the bone.
The orc leader grinned and raised his fist to strike.
Viktor released his grip and stepped back, but was still struck by the force of the punch, crashing into the crumbling wall.
The sternum is concave.
Blood gushed from his mouth, his knees buckled, and he nearly collapsed to his knees.
The orc leader stomped down.
Victor rolled away to avoid it and reached for the pistol at his waist.
empty.
The ammunition has long been used up.
The orc leader raised his greatsword.
Aurelia lunged forward and stood in front of him.
Victor roared:
"Aurelia, step back!"
She didn't turn around.
"Shut up, Kaslan."
The orc leader's shadow enveloped her.
She lowered her body, holding the rapier horizontally in front of her.
The orc leader brandished his sword.
Aurelia took a half step forward, sliding close to the blade, and thrust her power rapier into her jaw.
The blade pierced through the mouth and emerged from the top of the head.
The orc leader is not dead.
It roared and grabbed Alleria's shoulder armor, trying to tear her apart.
The shoulder armor cracked.
Her knees bent little by little.
"Victor!"
Viktor stood up unsteadily.
He removed the high-explosive, heat-melting amulet from his chest.
Aurelia's expression changed instantly when she saw his actions.
"No!"
Victor bit open the lock.
"Miss Van En."
He spat out a mouthful of blood and then smiled.
"Do not command a Kaslan."
"Victor!"
He charged toward the orc leader and pressed the Melt Charm into the gap in the bullet chain on the monster's chest.
Aurelia reached out to pull him.
Victor kicked her away.
She fell to the ground, her fingertips slipping along the edge of his cloak.
“Tell my father.”
Victor turned to look at her.
"I'm not here to gain prestige."
A burst of white light.
The orc leader's upper body was swallowed up by the thermal explosion.
Viktor was sent flying, half of his body torn apart by the shockwave, and crashed against the rubble.
He was still breathing.
Aurelia crawled over, knelt beside him, and pressed her hands against his wound.
But that was no longer a wound.
It was a pool of blood that couldn't be stopped.
Viktor looked at her, his eyes somewhat unfocused.
"That one time..."
"How much worse is he than Sergeant Brock?"
Aurelia burst into tears: "Not nearly as good."
"You even kicked me."
Viktor blinked.
"Feel sorry."
"The force should be lighter."
"you shut up."
"Please tell my father..."
"Go back and tell him yourself."
Viktor looked at her, the light in his eyes gradually dimming.
I will tell him.
Victor loosened his grip.
Aurelia bowed her head and knelt for two seconds.
The sounds of gunfire, roars, and tearing metal pressed in from all directions.
She reached out and tore the corona badge from Victor's tattered cloak, then tied it to her wrist.
Blood stained the gold badge dark red.
She stood up.
The position is on its last breath.
The remaining soldiers of the Corona Guard Regiment and the 82nd Regiment, numbering less than a hundred, formed a circular formation back to back.
Noble young masters and ladies mingled with commoners and veterans.
It's no longer possible to tell whose blood is more noble.
