"Ouch! Let go!" Summit screamed immediately.
When Mireille couldn't tear off Summit's 'wig' after several attempts, a look of disappointment crossed her face, and she said somewhat discouragedly, "Fine, forget I said anything before."
Hearing Mirei's words, Summit's face darkened with anger. He clenched his fists and looked at Mirei with a smile, asking, "President, if you were pulled on the head so many times for no reason, would you let it go so easily?"
Seeing that Summit had turned the tables and threatened her, Millie wasn't afraid at all. Instead, she straightened her chest and looked at Summit, saying, "Of course I won't let them off so easily." The implication was clear: 'What do you want?' Seeing Millie's expression, Summit could only sigh helplessly and continue with his work.
Seeing Samite's humiliated state, Kallen and Lelouch couldn't help but laugh. Kallen laughed because she didn't expect Samite, the Knight of the Round Table, to lose to Milly, the student council president. Lelouch laughed because Samite's humiliated expression was very amusing.
As the pleasant ringtone of his cell phone rang, Summit stood up and said to everyone, "I'm going out to answer this call!" He then quickly walked out.
At the entrance to the stairwell, Summit exclaimed in surprise into his phone, "Back to Britain tomorrow? So soon?"
Cornelia's voice came through the phone: "Yes, His Majesty the Emperor hopes that after you return to Britain, you will accompany your brother Schneizel on a diplomatic mission to the Chinese Federation to ease the current situation between the two countries."
After listening to Cornelia's explanation, Summit said in a somewhat heavy tone, "Okay, I understand. See you later." He then hung up the phone.
………………
"Brother, what happened?" Lelouch walked up to Summit, who was chatting with Nunnally, and asked. He could sense that although Summit's face didn't change much after taking the phone, his eyes revealed a troubled look, and his mood seemed much heavier.
"It's nothing, Lelouch. I just have to go back to Britain for work." Summit smiled faintly, reached out and took Nunnally's small hand, stroked her long brown hair, and said to Lelouch.
"Back to Britain, when?" Lelouch's expression changed upon hearing that Summit was leaving, and he asked, his face turning somewhat pale. Nunnally, on the other hand, gripped Summit's sleeve tightly, as if afraid he would leave her immediately.
"Don't worry, Nunnally and Lelouch, they're only going back for a short time. They'll be back soon," Samit said, patting Nunnally's small hand that was clutching his sleeve to reassure her.
Kallen, who was standing nearby, was shocked to learn that Summit was going back to Britain after overhearing Summit and Lelouch's conversation. She felt a mix of joy and worry. She was happy that if Summit left Area 11, she wouldn't have to worry about encountering him on the battlefield. But she was worried about what would happen if Summit didn't come back.
"What? Summit, you're going back to your home country? When are you leaving?" The office wasn't that big, and Summit and Lelouch weren't whispering, so the sharp-eared Mirei naturally overheard their conversation and immediately pointed at Summit, asking loudly.
"We'll fly to the capital of Britain at 1 a.m. tomorrow," Summit said after a pause, noticing Millie's sudden surge of excitement.
As Summit spoke, a gleam of excitement flashed in Mireille's eyes. She clenched her fist and looked into the distance with great enthusiasm, saying, "There's still plenty of time left, so let me prepare a farewell feast for you!"
"A farewell banquet? What's that?" Summit, Lelouch, and the others were stunned by Millie's inexplicable excitement, and couldn't understand what she was thinking.
"Ding-dong... A farewell banquet! This is Mirei Ashford, the student council president. Because our student council vice president's brother, Summit Lampenok (it's a mouthful!), will be returning to his home country tomorrow for work, we're holding a farewell banquet tonight at 7 PM. Every club, big or small, has three spots available. By the way, there's a raffle tonight; lucky attendees will receive a kiss from a student council member. Again, this is the student council..." Mirei's excited voice echoed throughout the campus via the loudspeaker.
"President Millie, why are you..." Summit looked at the excited Millie and opened his mouth to speak.
Mireille seemed not to be listening to what Summit was saying, and pointed directly at Shirley, saying, "Shirley, you and Nina take people to buy food and snacks, ready-made ones, and also order 200 pizzas. It's 1:47 pm now, and there are still 6 hours before the banquet starts, so hurry."
"Yes, President!" Shirley replied excitedly.
“Mirey, um…” Summit spoke again.
"Lelouch, Rival, you two lead a group to set up the scene, and be quick," Mireille said to Lelouch and Rival, ignoring Summit.
"Yes, Chairman." Lelouch and Rival immediately obeyed and left the stage.
"Mirey, this..."
"Karen, go and tell each club to prepare some performances. Anyone who performs will not be considered for the raffle. Be quick."
“Me? Oh…yes, President.” Karen said, somewhat surprised.
"Suzaku... doesn't seem to be here. Oh well, Nanali and I will go prepare the prizes for the raffle!"
"Yes, Sister Mirei."
“Mirey, I…” Samite was almost speechless.
"Sammet, you can just stay here." Milly said this and pushed Nanali out of the office, humming a little tune. Watching Milly leave the office, Sammet felt like dying. He hadn't said a word the entire time.
Chapter 344 Returning to the Homeland
In the central square of Camillo Castle, the palace of the Knights of the Round Table in the Holy British Empire, a manned aircraft using a levitation system slowly descended, kicking up a cloud of dust. With a 'click,' the door opened, and Summit, dressed in the uniform of a Knight of the Round Table, wearing a black cloak and a silver metallic mask, stepped out. After surveying his surroundings, Summit calmly addressed a member of Cornelia's personal guard, saying, "Lieutenant, convey my message to Her Highness the Princess that I am safe."
"Yes, Your Highness." The tall guard immediately saluted respectfully, then closed the aircraft door and ordered the pilot to fly away from the castle. Except for necessary guards, no one other than the Knights of the Round Table and His Majesty the Emperor was allowed to set foot inside Camillo Castle.
Summit knew the castle’s layout by heart and immediately set off towards the Emperor’s study, knowing that Bismarck and Emperor Sharuru were waiting for him there.
*Whoosh!* Just as Summit turned the corner of the corridor, two sharp daggers shot towards his face with a whooshing sound. Summit paused involuntarily, a smile appearing on his handsome face beneath the mask. With a flick of his hand, he caught both daggers between his fingers. Then, a red light emanated from his fingers, and the two alloy daggers simultaneously broke off and fell onto the smooth floor.
A round of applause rang out in the empty corridor. A middle-aged man dressed as a Knight of the Round Table walked out from the side, a slight smile on his lips. He looked at Summit with admiration and said, "As expected of my respected senior, you can easily break the dagger that I had specially made."
“Bradley, I need to go to His Majesty’s study. Don’t block my way. Also, throw away that rubbish.” Summit lowered his raised right hand, strode up to the man, and said this before ignoring him and walking straight past. The Knight of the Round Table known as Bradley was none other than the Tenth Knight of the Round Table of Britain, the infamous British 'vampire'. He had fought alongside Summit for a time during the Belarusian War and, having witnessed Summit’s formidable destructive power on the battlefield, had become a devoted fan of Summit.
“Yes, senior.” Bradley replied respectfully immediately, then quickly got to work.
"Samit, you're back! It's been so long, haha..." Outside the Emperor's study, Gino, the Third Knight, rushed excitedly to Samit as soon as he saw him approaching and hugged him tightly.
"Gino, you're hugging me so tightly I can't breathe." Summit could only say helplessly to Gino, his close friend.
"Haha... I'm sorry, I won't do it again next time." Gino quickly let go of Summit, patted him on the shoulder and said with a smile.
“This is the seventy-third time I’ve heard you say that,” Summit said, looking at Gino who was joking around, his face full of smiles, in an incredulous tone.
"What... there can't be this many again, can there?" Gino asked with a surprised expression.
“What do you think?” Summit rolled his eyes and asked in return.
As they were talking, Summit and Gino felt a flash of light, and a pink-haired loli appeared behind them, holding a red digital camera in her hand, muttering to herself, "Record." Thus, the youngest knight of the Round Table made her appearance.
“Ania, you’re back too. Four Knights of the Round Table have returned all at once. Isn’t the war with the EU supposed to have reached a fever pitch?” Samit asked with a smile as he walked up to the petite Anya.
"You didn't know?" Gino asked, somewhat surprised, after hearing Samit's words.
"What's wrong?" Summit asked, puzzled.
"The battle with the EU has indeed reached a fever pitch, but so far it's mainly been naval warfare. Anya, Bradley, and I aren't suited for that kind of battlefield, so we came back to rest," Gino explained with a smile.
"Anya, is that so?" Samit smiled slightly when he heard Gino say that, and looked at Anya to ask.
Anya looked up at Summit, a hint of doubt flashing in her pink eyes, but she still nodded in response to Summit's question. At the same time, the study door opened, and Bismarck, in full military uniform, walked out. Upon seeing Summit still chatting with Anya, he immediately said, "Summit, come in quickly. His Majesty has been waiting for you for a long time."
“Yes, Professor Bismarck.” Summit still had some respect for his former teacher and said very politely.
Inside the study, Emperor Sharuru looked at Summit, who was kneeling before him, his face contorted with anger. He spoke in a stern tone, "Summit, I am very disappointed... What have you done in Area 11?"
"I am very sorry, Your Majesty, but there is a reason for this. Please allow me to explain," Samit said hastily, kneeling on the ground.
"What?" Sharuru didn't like subordinates who defended themselves, but Summit never made excuses for himself, so out of curiosity he allowed Summit to continue.
Summit immediately said with a mocking tone, "Something very interesting... In Area 11, I met a woman who helped me understand a question I had never been able to figure out before: why my memories from nine years ago are completely different from the memories I recorded myself, Your Majesty." As he spoke, he removed his mask.
Chapter 345: His Identity Fully Exposed and His Arrival in the Chinese Federation
Thousands of meters above the sky, Britain's newest floating aircraft carrier, Avalon, was hurtling towards Luoyang, the capital of the Chinese Federation, at supersonic speed. Inside a study within the cabin, Schneizel and Summit sat at a black round table, a chessboard between them. They occasionally picked up pieces and moved them across the board, clearly engaged in a game. Summit had long since removed his mask; he no longer needed to worry about others seeing his face. Both Schneizel and Summit maintained calm expressions, revealing no emotional fluctuations, as they carefully observed the chessboard.
“Checkmate!” Summit placed a piece next to the queen and said calmly.
Schneizel looked at the queen, who was surrounded from both sides, without any emotional fluctuation on his face, neither surprised nor pleased. "As expected of Summit, your chess skills are still as superb as before." After a slight silence, Schneizel smiled and said, picking up the wine glass from the table leg and taking a small sip.
“Your Highness Schneizel, you are still the same as before, you haven’t changed at all.” Samit also picked up his wine glass, swirled the red wine, and looked at the bright red liquid swirling in the glass, a smile appearing on his face as he spoke.
"Summit, with you here, I think this trip to the Chinese Federation will definitely be a great success," Schneizel said with a smile as he looked at Summit.
"I am only responsible for protecting Your Highness's safety. Political negotiations are handled by Your Highness. So, when Your Highness says this, I can only say that what you are saying is too untrue."
Count Cano Maldini, standing behind Schneizel, immediately said angrily, "Lord Summit, watch your tone. Although you are now the Second Knight of the Round Table, you were once His Highness's subordinate."
“Oh, Earl Cano, and please watch your tone. Things are not like they were five years ago.” Samit said calmly, without changing his expression, after Cano finished speaking.
“You…” Kano’s expression changed and he stopped speaking after being told off by Summit. It was true that this was not five years ago. Although Summit worked in the Special Technology Development Bureau under Schneizel five years ago, Summit was now a knight of His Majesty the Emperor. Kano, as a minor count, had no right to say anything.
Just as Kano was glaring angrily at Summit, Schneizel waved his hand and said, "It's alright, Kano. Summit is my brother. There's no need for too much formality between brothers; that would only alienate them."
"Brother?" Cano said, somewhat surprised.
“You didn’t know? I thought you, as a confidant of your brother Schneizel, would know these things.” Samit smiled slightly, picked up his red wine, and took a sip.
Just then, the phone rang in the study. Kano quickly suppressed his surprise, walked to his desk, picked up the phone, then put it down and hurried behind Schneizel, saying, "Your Highness, we will arrive at our destination in 15 minutes. We need to get ready."
Schneizel nodded slightly, then looked at Summit and smiled, "Summit, I'm very happy today. Let's play chess again next time we have the chance." Without waiting for Summit's reaction, he turned to prepare to log off.
....................................
In Luoyang, the capital of the Chinese Federation, two thousand soldiers clad in black individual armor, along with dozens of armored vehicles and Knightmare drones named 'Steel Skull,' formed a dense defensive perimeter in the square outside the Holy Britannian Embassy. The only exit was crowded with reporters. Amidst a commotion, their long-awaited target finally arrived: the massive floating aircraft carrier, Avalon, slowly landed on the open ground. With a series of mechanical whirring sounds, Avalon opened its nacelle, and a hundred Britannian soldiers immediately rushed out, quickly forming two lines. Then, Summit, in full military uniform, followed Schneizel to the right rear. The Chinese Federation's envoy in charge of receiving them, Li Xingke, and his adjutant immediately went to greet them. The reporters hurriedly pointed their cameras and webcams at the approaching group.
"I am Li Xingke from the Chinese Federation. Welcome to Luoyang, Your Highness." Li Xingke, dressed in blue, spoke first.
"What a grand welcoming ceremony," Schneizel said with a slight smile, glancing at the fully armed troops around him.
“Our Chinese Federation has made all the necessary preparations within the Imperial City. Your Highness, please follow me.” Li Xingke glanced at Samit, who was not wearing a mask, and said to Schneizel.
“Okay, please lead the way,” Schneizel said politely as always. After Schneizel finished speaking, Li Xingke immediately gestured for him to proceed and turned to walk slowly towards the luxurious car that was responsible for receiving guests. When everyone had reached the vicinity of the car, all their faces appeared in the camera's view.
Meanwhile, at Ashford Academy, Millie, Nina, and a few other student council members (excluding Lelouch, Summit, and Kallen) watched a close-up of the Second Knight of the Round Table on television. Except for Suzaku, everyone's mouths were agape.
“No way! Samit… Samit… It’s Rounds of Two. Nanali, tell me this is true? Isn’t he a lieutenant colonel?” Rival exclaimed in surprise.
“I don’t know, brother. He’s never told us any of this.”
"Haha... No wonder you're my fiancé, Miley!" Miley said proudly.
"President, please don't discourage me," Rival immediately complained.
"Suzaku, did you already know this?" Nina, wearing glasses, asked, looking at Suzaku sitting beside her.
"Um, I'm sorry, I didn't tell everyone before." The honest Suzaku said somewhat embarrassedly after Summit's identity was exposed.
"Summit is the second knight, does Lelouch know that?" Shirley thought to herself as she watched the slow motion on TV.
Just as Suzaku and the others were speaking, cheers erupted from the girls throughout Ashford Academy: "Your Highness Summit!" The sound soared into the sky that it shook the entire academy.
Mirei immediately stuck her head out the window, watching the female students cheer after reading the information on their phones. She clenched her fist and muttered, "Samit, you'd better watch out when you come back."
As Summit got into the car, he suddenly felt a chill down his spine and looked around. This action puzzled Li Xingke, who asked, "Lord Summit, what happened?"
“No…it’s nothing,” Summit said with a slight smile to Li Xingke.
"Since there's nothing else, let's set off!" Li Xingke nodded slightly and gave the order.
Meanwhile, inside the secret headquarters of the Black Knights, Lelouch, disguised as ZERO, was stunned when he saw Summit on television. He had guessed Summit's true identity countless times, but he had never imagined that Summit would be a Knight of the Round Table.
“So this is the Knights of the Round Table? Just a little kid.” Tamaki immediately remarked.
"It's unbelievable, is this one of Britain's strongest forces? You can't judge a book by its cover, can you? Karen... Karen, what's wrong?" Fan nodded in agreement.
"Oh...it's nothing, I was surprised too," Karen stammered, regaining her composure.
