Praris breathed a sigh of relief, praying that the DARKs would run fast enough and not be caught by the Slytherins.
The entrance to the Gryffindor Tower common room, like the Room of Requirement, is on the eighth floor. If they could get caught so easily from that distance—
"Look, what's that!" Praris pointed haphazardly around a corner. "Someone ran past!"
The Slytherins quickly gave chase, and Praris pretended to run alongside them, her eyes catching a fleeting glimpse of red hair in front of the girls' restroom on the eighth floor.
"Professor!" Draco suddenly shouted, "I've caught one!"
Umbridge exclaimed something in surprise, saying that she would add fifty points to Slytherin's score.
Praris leaned closer to take a look, and his heart sank.
Harry Potter's green eyes came into her view—that definitely deserves a 50 from Umbridge!
Umbridge grabbed Harry by the arm and walked away, ordering the remaining students to continue the search.
“What can we find now!” Pansy pouted. “Everyone’s run away.”
Praris agreed with her: "That's true—I'm planning to go check out that room."
“Let’s go together!” Pansy said. “Maybe they left behind something ‘good’.”
Praris blinked. "But Umbridge told you to search the restrooms."
As a prefect, Prarese is inactive in dealing with the enemy and often plays dumb in front of Umbridge on behalf of Dumbledore's men.
Umbridge treated her like a bookworm and didn't want to give her any orders, while Pansy became her right-hand woman.
Who could blame them when Pansy said such nice things last time? Prarese's art of language struck a chord with Umbridge.
As soon as Pansy left, Praris immediately took two steps back, turned around, and pushed open the door to the Room of Requirement.
With her back to the door, she casually pulled the door shut and gave the room a sharp look around.
Defense Against the Dark Arts books, thick foam pads, a spyglass… Praris glanced over them, and soon her gaze was fixed on the wall—on a familiar parchment.
Praris cautiously turned to listen to the sounds outside, making sure no one was approaching for the time being.
She quickly walked to the wall, stood on tiptoe, tore off a piece of parchment, rolled it up, and stuffed it into her pocket.
Praris took a deep breath. Oh no, she had to watch out for Draco trying to slip his hand into her pockets all day.
Now, she has parchment in her left pocket and a two-way mirror in her right pocket, either of which could cause her some trouble.
"How about it?"
As soon as Praris stepped out of the Room of Requirement, he encountered Pansy on her way back.
The girl shrugged: "Nobody got caught—but Harry Potter is enough, what about you?"
Praris said calmly, "They're just some common black magic armor. They were very cautious and left nothing behind."
Since Praris said there were none left, Pansy didn't bother going in.
“We should search Potter.” Pansy nodded. “He might have been caught while trying to cover things up. Yes! Let’s go to the principal’s office and tell Professor Umbridge about this.”
Praris followed behind the troublemaking Pansy with his eyes downcast, rolling his eyes inwardly.
Come on, Harry Potter not only ran last, but he didn't even put away the list, and the group name "DA" was still blatantly written on it!
The principal's office was not far from the House of Requirement, and soon they saw the stone statue at the entrance of the principal's office.
Near the corner close to the stone beast, the two of them encountered the menacing Umbridge, with Marie Etta covering her face beside her.
“Professor Umbridge!” Pansy called out to Umbridge.
Pansy told Umbridge her guess, and Umbridge's eyes lit up: "Excellent! Miss Parkinson, Miss Prince, come with me!"
As soon as Praris entered the principal's office, he found it to be incredibly lively!
Dumbledore and Fudge are there, needless to say, as is Professor McGonagall, the Vice-Headmaster. Also present are an unnamed man (presumably one of Fudge's men), Fudge's secretary Percy Weasley, and Harry Potter himself.
As soon as Umbridge entered, she began to coax Mary into testifying about the DA's illegal activities.
But when Mary looked up, everyone present was startled—her face was covered in purple pustules, which spelled out the word "informant" on her face.
To reiterate, Hermione Granger is a woman of great ability. Her decisiveness surprised even the adults present.
Is Mary's behavior understandable?
If anyone can understand Percy Weasley, then they should understand Mary Etta.
Percy Weasley stood against the Weasley family for power, serving the Ministry of Magic, even though he didn't reveal the family's secrets.
Mary stood on the opposite side of the DA for her mother, serving Umbridge, but not for herself.
Humans are inherently selfish, have selfish desires, and are prone to making mistakes.
It's understandable, but she doesn't deserve sympathy; she deserves to be disfigured.
Just like Prarese, who secretly committed adultery for her family, she deserved the torment she suffered.
She will pay the price for this, but she won't cry or regret like Mary.
She has no regrets.
To her surprise, Mary shook her head when Umbridge asked her if she had attended the six-month party.
Prareas narrowed his eyes. Mary's gaze—a very good silent spell, but not Dumbledore's.
Interesting, is he one of their undercover agents?
Yes, it's another undercover agent, but not Percy Weasley, it's one of Fudge's men.
“I don’t care if there were parties before, but there’s a party tonight, isn’t there!” Umbridge shook Mary’s shoulder angrily. “Didn’t you tell me that tonight?”
Mary stood there, stunned, as if she had been frightened by Umbridge.
Dumbledore immediately stood up to stop Umbridge from continuing her outburst: "Dolores, I will not allow you to treat my student like this!"
Umbridge glared at Mary fiercely for her last-minute betrayal.
She remembered what Pansy had said and wanted to ask to search Harry Potter. But Dumbledore wouldn't even allow her to be a little rough with Mary, so how could he possibly agree to let her search Harry Potter?
Wait a minute, Parkinson's—
She reached out and pulled Pansy aside, saying to everyone present, "Of course, Miss Mary changed her story at the last minute, there's nothing we can do about it. But I don't have only one witness. Miss Parkinson, Miss Prince, right?"
Harry looked nervously at the two Slytherin girls, not understanding why Parkinson and Prader were witnesses. He prayed silently, hoping that Prince would say something for them.
“Yes!” Pansy said without hesitation. “I heard Mary Etta say with my own ears that they have a secret organization called Dumbledore’s Army!”
She was very familiar with dealing with Gryffindor, and besides, Umbridge wanted her to tell the truth!
“She’s a Slytherin student!” Harry said incisively. “Slytherins have always been at odds with me, so why would they tell the truth? Her testimony doesn’t count!”
“That’s absolutely true!” Umbridge said. “Even if you brought the other Slytherins who helped with the capture here, they would say the exact same thing. Headmaster Dumbledore, you can just point to anyone and call them over!”
So what if Mary refuses to testify?
If any Slytherin summoned can repeat Pansy Parkinson's testimony, then this matter can be definitively proven.
Prareus looked up and met Dumbledore's eyes; the two exchanged glances.
Prarese turned to Fudge: "Yes, Minister Fudge, Professor Umbridge is right. I can recite Miss Mary's words by heart. Miss Mary said: 'Yes, we have a secret organization called DA, Dumbledore's Army...' and then she screamed and curses burst from her face."
Harry stared at her in astonishment, almost uttering the word "traitor."
He knew he shouldn't have trusted Praliss Prince! She was Snape's apprentice, and Brown was a Death Eater!
Who knows if the Death Eaters actually captured Ms. Purnell, or if they were just using an excuse to call the double agent back and have her pass on the wrong information to the Order of the Phoenix!
Harry glared hatefully at Praris, who had framed Dumbledore.
Dumbledore smiled and said, "It seems there's no other way. Should I write a formal explanation?"
Fudge looked at him, puzzled: "What do you mean?"
"Minister, didn't you hear me?" Dumbledore said calmly. "It's DA, not PA; it's Dumbledore's Army, not Potter's Army."
Fudge stared at him wide-eyed in disbelief.
Dumbledore happily acknowledged this, and Kingsley also had Mary confirm Dumbledore's words.
What happened next took a sharp turn for the worse. Fudge excitedly tried to arrest Dumbledore, and in the ensuing chaos, Dumbledore knocked out all four members of the Ministry of Magic.
Chapter 124 The Missing Monta
After a series of crackling sounds, the smoke dissipated.
The two students beside Professor McGonagall were unharmed under her protection.
Harry was pulled up by Professor McGonagall, and he found that everyone in the Ministry of Magic had fainted, including Kingsley.
He immediately turned to look at Praris Prince and found the Slytherin standing perfectly fine in the corner.
On the contrary, Pansy Parkinson, who was standing next to her, somehow fainted.
Prarese calmly waved to them, and Dumbledore even nodded at her.
Harry was completely confused. He said to Dumbledore, who was about to give him an explanation, "There are people listening—"
Dumbledore said nonchalantly, "I know. Harry, listen to me..."
Praris, who was called "the one who still exists," quietly found a suitable spot around Pansy, preparing to "faint."
The instant Dumbledore made his move, Prareus seized the opportunity and used a silent spell to knock Pansy down.
She's best at using underhanded tactics.
If Dumbledore wants to rebel and run away, Pansy can't stay awake, or it will cause unnecessary trouble.
Pansy was so close to her, so rather than waiting for Dumbledore to hesitate about whether to knock the student unconscious, she could do it herself and prevent Pansy from getting hurt.
However, Praris couldn't help but feel a little emotional. Who said white magic wasn't powerful?
Look at Dumbledore, striking his opponent with precision while his own men and students are unharmed.
Upon noticing Fudge's men moving, Praris lifted Pansy's hand and placed it on his body, then promptly tilted his head to the side and "passed out."
It wasn't until Umbridge, Kingsley, and Drax woke up and ran after Dumbledore that Prader finally "slowly woke up" under Professor McGonagall's examination.
Professor McGonagall kept her hands busy and her mouth never stopped—she was having a verbal battle with Fudge.
Although she couldn't help Dumbledore in a practical sense, she was willing to play a role in terms of spirit, letting Fudge know that Hogwarts still had her to rely on.
