Fudge scoffed, "Whether I think so or not is irrelevant. What matters is what Dumbledore did. Professor, I think you'd better take your students back to their dormitories as soon as possible!"
Professor McGonagall suppressed her anger, said nothing, and led the four students toward the door.
She first led Harry to the entrance of the Gryffindor common room, then took Mary Etta to the infirmary, and finally led Prarese and Pansy down into the underground.
“Prince,” Professor McGonagall said, standing in the corridor not far from the Slytherin common room, “you’re a smart kid, and I believe you know what you’re doing.”
Praris nodded calmly: "Of course, Professor McGonagall. You should also go back and get some rest."
Professor McGonagall disappeared down the stairs.
Pansy looked surprised: "Is she warning you? Because we testified for Professor Umbridge?"
"Maybe," Praris yawned. "Why does my neck feel a little sore?"
"Did you bump into him when you fainted?" Pansy stood on tiptoe to look at Praris's neck. "Let me see..."
Professor McGonagall wasn't warning her; on the contrary, her warning concealed her trust in Praris.
Prareas's remarks were indeed unexpected, but Professor McGonagall would never think that Prareas had switched sides at the last minute.
After all, the child's parents are still their people.
Moreover, Dumbledore would never lay a hand on a student, not even accidentally. And Professor McGonagall had checked and confirmed that Pansy had indeed fainted.
It was obvious who was behind it all—Plares was covering up Dumbledore's scheme.
The next day, Praris did not have morning classes.
She stayed up so late last night that she decided to sleep in a little longer and have some snacks for breakfast.
"Prince! Did Dumbledore really attack Ministry of Magic officials?"
Praris looked down and saw that it was a first-year student.
Pansy strode over and said impatiently, "We're confused, we don't know anything, that's all!"
After saying that, she pulled Praris away, her tone full of displeasure: "Everyone has been asking me this question since the way to the auditorium, and I'm so fed up with it..."
When they left the common room, Prarese noticed that every bulletin board in the school had a new notice posted on it. The notices stated that Umbridge had replaced Dumbledore as the new headmaster.
"Hey!" Draco popped out from behind her, cheerfully saying, "Good news, isn't it?"
After saying that, he took out a prefectural officer badge from his pocket, smiled, and said, "Here you go!"
"This is?"
She already has the prefect badge!
Draco pointed to the silver "I" below the prefect's badge and said, "It's the Investigative Task Force, Praris. This is Professor Umbridge's award to us."
"What's the use of this?" Praris asked, taking the badge.
Draco put his arm around her shoulder and led her toward the dining hall: "This is a privilege, the right to get points deducted from Gryffindors just for drinking water. Professor Umbridge thinks highly of us."
“Really?” Praris casually replaced the badge on his chest. “That’s my pleasure.”
"Experiencing it firsthand was fantastic," Draco said with a grin. "Too bad you didn't see what they looked like; they were green with rage!"
"Draco!"
Not far away, a tall figure ran towards them.
Miles ran up to them, paused, and said, "And Praris, have you seen Monta?"
“Montae?” Praris said. “No, what’s wrong with Montae?”
Miles scratched his head: "A sixth-grader just asked me if Monta missed class because the Quidditch team had other plans."
Draco and Praris exchanged a glance.
A student going missing is no small matter; it's a matter of life and death. At Hogwarts, students are capable of fighting, and going missing means they've encountered danger.
A person who was perfectly fine before disappearing may not still be human after disappearing. Myrtle is an example.
Prareas had another elective course to attend, and she told Draco to check on Monta in the infirmary first. If Monta was injured, she would likely be taken to the infirmary.
If not, then search every boys' washroom, unused classroom, owl shed, and Requirement Room again.
With Dumbledore gone, the whole school was in chaos, and even classes couldn't be conducted in a stable manner.
This lesson is Professor Victor's arithmetic divination class, and the new course teaches the relationship between tarot cards and numbers.
The Minor Arcana consists of 56 cards, divided into four suits, with 14 cards in each suit. The number cards range from one to ten, and the remaining four are privilege cards, also known as court cards.
These ten number cards each have a different symbolism in the numerology and divination system.
"In our previous studies of numerology and divination, we learned how to use numbers to calculate a person's personality, destiny, and predict the future."
“That’s a rather general overview,” Professor Victor said, stepping down from the podium. “Of course, there are also some simple practical applications, such as love divination. Divination can predict how a person will behave in the face of love and what kind of love they might have.”
"Today, we're going to learn about the Minor Arcana cards and apply what we've learned about numbers to the ten number cards—"
Before Professor Victor could finish speaking, he heard a "whoosh" and a firework shot in, flying past his head.
“Wow,” Praris said calmly, “Is today the Hogwarts anniversary celebration?”
Pansy's eyes widened: "Who sets off fireworks in the classroom for their school anniversary celebration?!"
"Is this to celebrate Professor Umbridge's appointment?" Praris asked again.
"It's impossible no matter how you look at it!" Pansy covered her face helplessly.
Pansy said, "It must have been those Gryffindor troublemakers who did this. Professor Umbridge drove Dumbledore away, and they want to get revenge on her and cause her trouble!"
Hermione, who was in the same classroom, covered her mouth in the back row, unable to suppress her laughter.
Professor Victor raised an eyebrow and casually pointed at a Slytherin: "You, you, get Headmaster Umbridge to come and help us figure out what to do! I'm an unarmed fortune teller!"
Professor Victor, who is frail and unable to care for himself, declared that the students' safety is the most important thing.
To prevent accidental injury, classes will be temporarily suspended until Principal Umbridge resolves the danger (fireworks).
After saying that, Professor Victor bent down, picked up the tarot cards he had just dropped, and smiled broadly.
The Three of Cups.
Excellent! He really wants to share with Minerva and Felius the joy of causing trouble for Umbridge.
Pansy frowned and said, "Play, can't you handle this damn fireworks? Ugh! Damn it!"
Praris waved his wand, causing the fireworks to fly in a different direction: "What did you say? Of course not!"
"Huh?" Pansy held her head in her hands, looking at the scene in confusion. "But you weren't just now?"
Praris could easily make the fireworks fly away with a wave of his hand!
“Pansy!” Praris said, exasperated. “Didn’t you notice that Professor Victor has already sent someone to find Professor Umbridge?”
"You found out?" Pansy looked completely bewildered. "And then?"
Praris declared confidently, "If we solve the fireworks problem before Professor Umbridge, wouldn't she have made a wasted trip?"
"It's the new principal's first day in office. If we solve the fireworks problem while Professor Umbridge fails to solve the other fireworks problems, wouldn't that imply that she's incompetent?"
Panxi suddenly realized that it wasn't a good idea to try and outdo the leader!
Pansy immediately accepted the explanation, putting the matter of resolving the fireworks out of her mind. Against the backdrop of the flying fireworks, the two happily began drawing tarot cards.
It wasn't until almost the end of get out of class that Umbridge came running over, looking disheveled, to deal with the fireworks. In the process, he accidentally got his hair blown into a rather artistic afro by the fireworks.
As for whether Praris had any influence on the Afro hairstyle... shh, it's best left unsaid.
The problem was that the Slytherins still hadn't found the missing Monta by nightfall.
Prarese and Draco reported the matter to Professor Snape and Umbridge, respectively.
Typically, if a student disappearance case cannot be resolved within a few days, it must be handed over to the Ministry of Magic. Take Ginny's case as an example; it was only a hair's breadth away from the school closing and the Ministry of Magic intervening in the investigation.
Umbridge, newly appointed, spent the entire afternoon dealing with the Weasley fireworks issue, and was devastated to hear about Monta's disappearance that evening.
“How could we not find them?” Umbridge’s smile was rather forced. “Can people leave the school? Search! Keep searching!”
A person can be incompetent, but they cannot let their superiors discover their incompetence.
Umbridge's current goal is to cover up all the troubles at Hogwarts.
She finally understood just how difficult it was for Dumbledore to manage these students. The Hogwarts students were truly capable of causing trouble!
Stepping out of the office, Draco turned and walked backwards, looking down at Praris and asking, "Damn it, where did Monta go! Praris, where do you think that Monta guy could have gone?"
We've searched everywhere we could, but we can't find him!
“If Monta can’t be found at the school, it just means Monta isn’t there,” Praris muttered a pointless remark.
Draco chuckled, a slight smile playing on his lips: "Are you kidding me?"
“If you think this is a joke,” Praris shook his head, “this is troublesome. Who saw Monta before he disappeared?”
Draco recalled, "In Professor Umbridge's office, I received the badge for the investigation team."
“If I were Monta—” Praris lowered his eyes.
“That’s terrifying,” Draco said abruptly.
Praris glared at him, and Draco immediately crossed his arms, making a shushing gesture.
Most Slytherin students, like Draco, immediately use their badges to deduct points from Gryffindor.
Today, the crystals of the other three colleges flowed upwards onto the hourglass like water on the ground.
There's a very high probability that Monta either lost points or was showing off his honors.
But knowing this is useless. Without eyewitnesses, it's impossible to know who Monta had a conflict with, where the conflict took place, or who caused Monta's disappearance.
The worst-case scenario is that Monta is bound and hidden in some unknown room of the Room of Requirement, unable to get out... By the time he is found again, he may have already turned into a skeleton.
It's still the same old method; we can only search, place by place.
Praris shook his head: "I don't have any good ideas, we'll just have to look for them. Curfew is coming soon, let's talk about it tomorrow!"
The next day, students had classes during the day, so they could only look for him when they weren't in class. But Monta seemed to have vanished into thin air; they couldn't find him anywhere.
Around 7 p.m., Praris was reading in the common room.
Andrei burst in like a whirlwind: "Prefect! Prefect! There's a ghost in the toilet!"
“Of course there’s a ghost in the toilet,” Praris said in surprise. “But—did you go into the women’s restroom?”
