Snape cursed under his breath and stepped back into the flames.
Department of Mysteries.
By the time Harry realized it was indeed a trap, it was too late.
He doesn't regret coming here; he had already anticipated the worst.
But Praris's words kept echoing in his mind: "Can you afford to lose five lives?"
Bella fired a red beam at Harry, and Winnie and Lucius simultaneously knocked off her spell.
Wearing a mask, Winnie preemptively shouted, "Are you crazy? What if you break the prophecy orb?!"
"That's right, let's get the Prophecy Orb first!" Lucius Malfoy shouted.
After Harry's brief delay, the DAs smashed the shelf holding the prophecy orb, and the five of them immediately fled in the chaos.
Winnie didn't want to participate in this ambush; she desperately wanted to find an opportunity to inform the Order of the Phoenix as soon as possible. But Bella had made a mistake and was now actively trying to make amends. She kept a close eye on Winnie, fearing that Winnie might have a chance to betray them.
Bella insisted on bringing Winnie along for this ambush, and even though Winnie pretended to cry and act scared for a long time, she still didn't have a chance to escape.
Winnie had no choice but to come.
She put on a mask and mingled among the Death Eaters, fighting the least and running the fastest, occasionally taking advantage of the chaos to strike a few Death Eaters.
Winnie couldn't help but sigh; Voldemort truly no longer trusted her. Even at the height of the Wizarding Wars, she had only been conducting research at the Death Eaters' stronghold. And now, she was hiding and dodging amidst the fiery chaos of battle.
One of the Death Eaters had his head malfunctioned, turning him into a baby, and he went berserk.
Winnie followed him closely, anxiously calling out, "Are you alright? Oh my god, what are we going to do! I can't think of a way to get you out of here!"
Babyhead Death Eater burst into an office, and Winnie was astonished to see that Dolohoff, that bastard, had just been knocked down by Potter!
Their eyes met, and Harry, not knowing who the Death Eater was, instinctively raised his wand!
"It's me!" Winnie hissed. "It's Winnie Brown! Run!"
Harry shouted immediately, "Hermione, Hermione's been knocked unconscious!"
Winnie instinctively pulled out the last small bottle of medicine she had taken from Black Rose Alley from her sleeve, squatted down, and pushed it out: "I'll lure him away, you guys run!"
After saying that, she took a break and launched another attack on the two Death Eaters lying on the ground.
The two Death Eaters were clearly unable to move, yet their bodies remained stiff. They twitched and jumped like stranded fish before finally losing consciousness.
She used an eerie light to lure away the Death Eaters with the baby's head, and all that could be heard was the hurried footsteps of Harry and his friends as they left.
After about five minutes, Winnie hesitated for a moment before peeking outside, then gritted her teeth and ran out again to check on Harry and the others.
She possessed the magic of guidance and quickly found the main force of the Death Eaters.
Unfortunately, Harry couldn't escape and was surrounded again.
Winnie almost screamed, "Is there any hope left?!"
Suddenly, the two doors opened, and members of the Order of the Phoenix rushed in, turning the tide of the battle once again.
She immediately hid in a dark corner, her hands trembling as she pretended to be unconscious, but her eyes were still half-open as she stared intently at Bella's movements.
She's really timid, really.
She had long regretted becoming Voldemort's student! She had absolutely no desire to participate in this battle!
She wanted to go back to Black Rose Alley to read novels, to the beauty salon in Diagon Alley, to ask Florin for ice cream, to doze off on the sofa, to fight the cats at Flourish and Blotts, to brag to Praris, and to have tea and gossip with Prim.
In the darkness, Winnie reached out and carefully pulled Tonks, who had been knocked down by Bella.
Winnie didn't have much courage, but this girl was about the same age as Winnie back then. Wouldn't her parents and friends worry about her coming here? Aren't they afraid?
Winnie didn't know.
She lay on top of Tonks, her wand pointed at the girl's wound, chanting healing spells.
“Big Bullido—” a round-faced boy called out indistinctly.
Winnie quickly looked up and saw the shadow that had once given her hope; her eyes widened.
She quickly stood up, pressed the mask on her face, yanked it off, and slammed it to the ground.
Dumbledore has arrived, and the Death Eaters have no chance of winning. It's time to settle scores and seek revenge.
She glared fiercely at the guy she'd been staring at for minutes, then gripped her wand and charged toward him.
Didn't you want to kill Prim?
Wasn't it to get revenge on her?
Winnie gripped her wand and rushed toward Bella and Sirius.
Chapter 136 Fierce Battle
"Bellatrix went to Purnell's cell in Burst's place."
"She's planning to kill Purnell because of the feud between you two."
Winnie's lips curled down, and her sinister gaze pierced Bella, who was engaged in battle, like a sword.
Sirius ducked to avoid a beam of red light from Bella, grinning smugly: "Come on! You could have done better!"
He shouted this loudly, taunting Bella.
"Ah, yes! What touching love."
"You care about Purnell, and your enemies are certainly happy to see you suffer for Purnell."
"Now, are you going to worry about Praris?"
"If I may ask, should I mourn for my student in advance?"
Bella's second red beam struck Sirius in the chest.
Sirius's eyes widened, his pupils contracted, and his face twisted between wild laughter and horror.
He collapsed backward, limp and weak, falling like a wild goose struck down by an arrow, just inches away from the curtain of the archway behind him...
Harry's expression froze, like a screaming Muggle portrait.
At some point, the Death Eaters, cloaked in black, appeared on the steps like ghosts.
Winnie strode up the highest step, and with a spinning kick, sent Sirius flying down the stairs: "Get out of my way, you pesky stray dog!"
After saying that, she raised her wand and turned around to shoot beams of light at Bella.
"You want me to pay the price, is that it?"
A purple light lashed out like a whip towards Bellatrix.
"Atonement, is that it!"
A dark red light, like a red-hot scythe, slashed Bella's body, leaving scorched wounds.
The moment Sirius fell toward the curtain, Lupin almost stopped breathing.
He staggered a couple of steps, then collapsed at the bottom of the steps, clutching Sirius Black as he rolled down the stairs, still shaken.
Harry also rushed over, looking at Sirius in alarm and then at Lupin.
"Tell me, he's still alive—is that right?"
Enemies meeting are bound to be filled with hatred.
The two people on the steps went berserk! They were out of control! They were reckless!
Bella unleashed beams of dark magic, her face contorted like a ghost, muttering curses of "bitch" and "traitor."
Even with her body covered in wounds, Bella still hurled curses at Winnie.
Winnie was not to be outdone, and various spells emanated from the tip of her wand.
Whether it was white magic or black magic, she kept throwing it at Bella, getting knocked away only to get back up and fight again.
Her love for her best friend and her hatred for her enemy sustained her. Even when she was confronted with a curse, she seemed completely oblivious, showing no trace of the cowardice she once displayed when facing Voldemort.
The two witches used both magic and physical attacks, creating dazzling light and shadow effects when apart, and delivering punches and kicks when close!
boom!
The spell Dumbledore used to exorcise the Death Eaters hit Bella, briefly snapping her out of her daze at the thought of beating Winnie, and she ran away in a panic.
Winnie wouldn't let go, chasing Bella like a cat chasing a mouse. The flames of hatred ignited within her, burning her enemy while also burning herself.
Kingsley quickly grabbed her arm: "Winnie!"
"Let me go! Kingsley! I'm going to kill her!" Winnie screamed frantically. "I'm going to kill her!"
In her, Kingsley showed almost no resemblance to the Brown Inspector who, more than a decade ago, slacked off at work, joked around, and was frequently the subject of complaints.
But it was precisely at this moment that the Death Eaters sensed the presence of their own kind in her.
The Death Eaters here had all seen her kneeling at Voldemort's feet, pleading softly, and they had all mocked her for her cowardly and pathetic appearance.
The most dangerous thing is the outburst of an honest person; the most terrifying thing is the courage of a coward.
Kingsley's neck snapped back as she yelled at him, but he still wouldn't let go.
Not only could he not let go, on the contrary, he wanted to hold on tightly to Winnie and stop her from killing.
First, Winnie had almost exhausted all her strength; second, Winnie was exuding murderous intent at this moment.
Finding out that his colleague Brown was a Death Eater was a very surprising thing for him.
Winnie Brown doesn't seem to have the guts to kill at all; she's just a naive young woman who grew up in happiness.
He was equally surprised to see her again at the Order of the Phoenix at 12 Grimmauld Place. But it also proved that he hadn't misjudged her; Winnie really couldn't kill.
In any case, as an Auror and a member of the Order of the Phoenix, he could not stand by and watch Winnie bear the guilt of murder and have her soul corrupted for the sake of a madman.
Kingsley had heard from Sirius that Winnie had another daughter. His best friend and daughter were waiting for Winnie to come home; how could he let Winnie go to jail for murder?
Dumbledore's spell seemed to wake Bella's muddled mind, and she remembered her mission, rushing towards Harry and Lupin.
As Bella disappeared from her sight, Winnie felt as if her spine had been removed, collapsing helplessly onto Kingsley and falling into a coma.
After that, she knew nothing of the pursuit and confrontation between Bellatrix, Voldemort, Harry, and Dumbledore.
Praris waited in the potions office until just before curfew.
