Who taught her to say the most impolite things in the most polite tone?!
Dumbledore laughed heartily upon hearing this: "I think so. Thank you, Praris!"
“You’re welcome.” Prare readily accepted this. “Actually, I’m a little surprised that you still remember this.”
After a heated exchange of words, Dumbledore finally got back to the point: "Severus said you have something to tell me, don't you?"
“The Vanishing Cabinet,” Praris said bluntly. “The Weasley brothers put Monta into the Vanishing Cabinet, which allowed Draco to discover the passage between Hogwarts and the outside world.”
“It doesn’t belong to Hogwarts, nor to the outside world; it’s somewhere in between. Thankfully, it’s broken,” Praris said clearly. “Unfortunately, Draco is quite talented in alchemy.”
Thus, Draco hoped to atone for his father's failure by murdering Dumbledore and to gain merit by undermining Hogwarts' comprehensive protection.
The former was something he was asked to do, while the latter was something he took on voluntarily. What pained him was that he found he couldn't do the former, and he couldn't bring himself to do the latter.
“For this—” Praris lowered his eyes, “he suffered greatly.”
Dumbledore was silent for a long time, then he sighed: "And you, Praris?"
“What?” Praris was taken aback.
"Have you also suffered because of him?" Dumbledore said gently. "You haven't been having a good time these past six months, have you?"
Prarese was puzzled: "Headmaster Dumbledore, why are you always so cruel when others need forgiveness, and so compassionate when others are resolute?"
Chapter 185 Praris's Revenge
Dumbledore still smiled kindly, even with a hint of inexplicable satisfaction in his expression. He stubbornly did what he hadn't done before—bringing the chocolate milk from the other end of the table to Praris.
Before Prareth could refuse, Dumbledore said gently, "If you drink it, you'll have more strength to argue with me, won't you?"
Dumbledore's words had a good effect, and Praris accepted the hot drink.
He looked at Praris, showing no sign of resentment at being verbally retaliated against: "Praris, everyone is complex, not black and white, including me."
“In fact,” Dumbledore said with a smile, “you and Severus are both people I trust. One has continued my old and frail life, and the other I dare to entrust my life to.”
Praris said calmly, "That's really strange."
Dumbledore wasn't angry. He said, "Many years ago, I found a sapling that was about to wither. I casually placed it under a big tree and was surprised to find that it grew into the shade of the big tree and was full of life."
Prader believed Dumbledore was referring to his introduction of Prader to Winnie and Priscilla. However, Dumbledore was actually referring to his persuasion of Snape to accept Prader more than a decade earlier.
“I admire you, son,” Dumbledore said. “Of all these students, you are different. Only you believe in me, but never obey me.”
Praliss stared intently into Dumbledore's bright blue eyes, and said politely, "Yes, sir, I have indeed disobeyed you. So, do you know what I will do after I leave here?"
Dumbledore smiled and nodded.
“Aren’t you going to stop me?” Praris asked.
Dumbledore said casually, "When you got here, I knew there was no need to stop you."
He raised his right hand toward Praris and winked playfully.
Praris asked earnestly, "Has anyone ever said you're annoying?"
“Of course,” Dumbledore laughed heartily. “If a man is still alive at this age, he’ll become a nuisance to the young, won’t he?”
Snape stood not far away, watching the old man and the young man exchange cryptic messages, and felt a little annoyed.
Faced with Praris's repeated outrageous remarks, he hesitated to speak several times.
Snape couldn't help but think that Prares usually treated him with far too much respect compared to the treatment Dumbledore received.
Even more inexplicably, Prarese suddenly laughed, took two steps back, and said to Snape, "Sir, there's nothing more for me here. I'll take my leave now."
After saying that, she turned and left without looking back.
This was Malfoy's second day in the hospital, and Harry was suffering terribly. That afternoon, Pansy Parkinson and Myrtle had already spread the news far and wide.
"How could you—" Hermione said angrily, "you promised you wouldn't use the Half-Blood Prince's book anymore!"
Harry's tone wasn't exactly friendly: "You know I already returned the book!"
“Yes, you went back!” Hermione said. “But you’re still using the spells on it! I hate to say this, but you know perfectly well that the Half-Blood Prince must be a powerful Slytherin, yet you’re still using the spells on it!”
"You clearly didn't want to say that, but you said it anyway!" Harry said irritably. "You yourself are very close to this Slytherin, and you even taught me many of her spells!"
Harry said sarcastically, "I get it. You mean that every spell in a Slytherin book has to be a curse or dark magic, don't you?"
"You know perfectly well that's not what I meant! You're just defending what you've done!" Hermione exclaimed, her face flushed with anger. "Under no circumstances should you use a spell whose effects you don't know, let alone use it on someone!"
Harry immediately retorted, "I'm not defending myself! Does a half-blood prince necessarily have to be a Slytherin? Madam Purnell is a Hufflepuff!"
“It just so happens that the Half-Blood Prince wrote such a spell in the book, and I used it in a moment of crisis,” Harry said quickly. “None of us expected it to be a dangerous spell! You know, if I had known what it was, I would never have used such a terrible spell on anyone, no matter how much I hated them!”
Harry was undoubtedly reluctant to return the book "Advanced Potions Making" to the Half-Blood Prince's relatives.
Without this book, Harry wouldn't have been able to get the Felix Felicis he craved, save Ron, or even get Slughorn to talk.
Before sending the book out, Harry spent several days reading it, including every nook and cranny—this was the most focused Harry ever was on the book.
And "Divine Edge Without Shadow" is included in it.
So when Harry was discovered by Malfoy and the two fought fiercely, when Malfoy attempted to use dark magic on him... he almost instinctively threw out a spell he had never actually used before, causing terrible consequences.
"Fine!" Hermione said through gritted teeth, "Even if you pretend it was unintentional, how are you going to face Pralis! You almost killed her boyfriend with the Half-Blood Prince's spell!"
Harry's face turned as pale as a ghost.
He remembered that Prares had almost attacked him in the bathroom, and it was Snape who stopped him.
“It takes six months to brew one dose of Felix Felicis. She gave it to you without hesitation, asking for nothing in return.” Hermione listed Prader’s contributions as if listing Harry’s crimes. “She taught you Occlumency, she tolerated your use of the Half-Blood Prince’s achievements as a Potions genius, she copied an entire notebook with her left hand and gave it to you…”
"Enough!" Ginny suddenly interrupted Hermione. "Look at Harry's expression. Do you really think he doesn't regret it?"
Ginny defended Harry, saying, "Malfoy was obviously going to use the Cruciatus Curse on him. Why would Harry use an unfamiliar spell if he wasn't desperate? You should be thankful Harry is unharmed!"
Harry looked at Ginny in surprise, not expecting her to defend him like this. He knew he shouldn't be feeling this way at this moment, but he actually felt a little happy.
This vague mix of joy and regret was as chaotic as a potion brewed by Neville.
The next day, Harry's situation worsened, and Hermione wasn't the only one blaming him. Slytherins mocked and gossiped about him, and the Gryffindor students were furious—because of Harry's mistake, he couldn't participate in the final Quidditch match of the year.
Now, Ron is getting ready to go to Quidditch training, while Harry can only watch.
On the lawn in front of the castle, Ron patted Harry on the shoulder sympathetically: "Well, cheer up, what's done is done, isn't it?"
"You've come to terms with it, haven't you?"
A cold, sinister voice sounded from behind the two of them.
Harry and Ron instinctively turned around, but were startled back a few steps by the rapidly spinning waterspout that suddenly rose from the ground.
The waterspout moved at incredible speed, engulfing Harry precisely within seconds. To make matters worse, Harry wasn't the only object inside; pebbles and leaves from the grass were also caught in the whirlpool, pelting him with a clattering sound.
Ron stared in disbelief at the astonishing scene, his eyes wide, and shouted at Praris, "Are you crazy?"
“Thank you for your concern,” Praris said politely. “I’m in good health—at least much better than my boyfriend.”
Ron glanced frantically at Harry, who was trapped in the waterspout, and then at Praris, who hadn't even taken out his wand—not even a disarming charm would work!
"Harry!" Ron frantically pulled out his wand, "Stop Curse!"
The waterspout, controlled by Praris, dodged Ron's spell with a swift movement. Harry was knocked around and left dizzy from the impact.
Harry was already feeling nauseous inside the waterspout. His wand was flung out of his pocket and got mixed up with the other branches, making it impossible to touch!
"Do you like the new spell, Harry?" Praris said gently. "It's the first spell I've invented, or rather, improved upon."
"Its origin is the washing machine—hmm, Ron, your dad should be interested in that, right? Stella said Mr. Weasley is into Muggle stuff, isn't he?"
“Praris!” Ron said anxiously, “Harry didn’t do it on purpose! He didn’t know it was a curse, and Malfoy was going to use the Unforgivable Curse on him… Harry had no choice!”
“Well said!” Praris clapped slowly, drawing out her voice. “What a coincidence, if someone hadn’t used the Half-Blood Prince’s spell to beat up another Prince’s boyfriend… I wouldn’t have been forced to use this spell!”
Harry was forced into it; did Praris just want to hurt him for no reason?
Prarese smiled and said, "Weasley, do you know what a washing machine is? It's used to wash things clean—clothes, blankets, pillows, or other things—stealing other people's things to do bad things will get your hands dirty!"
Ron had never seen anyone wield wandless magic so skillfully. Aside from Praris before him, perhaps only Dumbledore?
He tried everything, even attacking Praris directly, but nothing worked—the water tornado was an independent spell, and Praris had to stop the spell himself!
Ron never expected that this rather troublesome waterspout was actually Winnie's housework magic—whose housework magic requires him to be there and watch over it?
Left with no other choice, Ron hurriedly ran into the castle to fetch reinforcements.
As Ron left, Praris tilted his head, and the waterspout slowed down as well.
After a difficult descent into the water, Harry finally found his wand and successfully shouted "Stop Cursed".
Harry was the first to fall, followed by all sorts of random little things that landed on him and on the ground.
Harry braced himself on the lawn, vomiting violently, almost bringing up everything he had eaten the night before.
Oh, so he didn't eat anything last night.
No wonder he started vomiting sour fluid after only a few vomits.
Behind Harry, Prarese walked towards him unhurriedly, slowly took a small bottle out of his cork bag, uncorked it, and splashed it on Harry.
After doing all this, Praris didn't leave. She just sat on a large rock not far from Harry, resting her chin on her hands, lost in thought.
Harry was initially vomiting due to dizziness. Soon, his expression turned to pain, and he began muttering incoherently, as if he were caught in a nightmare while fully conscious!
"Prareth!" Hermione shouted as she ran.
A few minutes earlier, Ron burst into the Gryffindor common room like a bull, panting as he told Hermione, "Plares has wrapped Harry up!"
"What do you mean by 'rolled up'?" Hermione almost doubted whether she was British, otherwise how could she not understand English!
"Like a washing machine!" Ron was so anxious he almost jumped up. "Oh well, you'll see when you get there!"
Ginny immediately stood up: "I'll go with you!"
Ron didn't care about anything else and grabbed Hermione, running outside.
As a result, when the three of them ran onto the lawn, all the magic, which had been like a washing machine, was gone. Only Harry was left, rolling around on the lawn, groaning in pain.
The three girls immediately surrounded Harry, with Ginny raising her wand and shouting, "Prince! What did you do to Harry!"
Prarese glanced at her sideways and said condescendingly, "Miss Weasley, I advise you to put down your wand."
Without hesitation, Ginny unleashed a bat-spell, causing Hermione and Ron to exclaim, "Ginny!"
