Before the bat could even reach Praris, it was burned to ashes by the raging flames, revealing Praris behind it, wand in hand. Almost immediately afterward, Ginny's wand was knocked away by a disarming charm.
Praris stood on the large rock, his eyes lowered, looking at them with an icy expression.
"Stop it, both of you!" Hermione yelled angrily at Ginny and Ron.
After saying that, Hermione looked at Prader and said in a low, pleading voice, "Prader, Harry has been put in solitary confinement and banned from Quidditch."
Praris nodded and politely thanked him, "Thank you for telling me this good news."
Hermione breathed a slight sigh of relief: "Harry has already been punished... Can you let him go?"
“No,” Praris began again in that humble tone, “If I stabbed Harry, would you consider solitary confinement and being forbidden from making potions to be equivalent punishments?”
Hermione hesitated and shook her head, saying, "But you've already...rolled him up?"
“That’s not enough,” Praris said. “Not nearly enough. I’m the only one in the world who can bully Draco; nobody else can.”
Ultimately, she should take revenge on Voldemort.
In essence, Voldemort had already been avenged by Prasris. After all, she directly or indirectly destroyed two Horcruxes and revived his nemesis.
Chapter 186 They're all sick
For a moment, Hermione didn't know what to do.
Hermione had discussed a similar issue with Prader when they were in third grade—no one else could ask the victim's family for forgiveness.
Hermione took a deep breath and asked, "You used a potion on Harry, didn't you?"
Harry lay on the ground with his eyes tightly closed, his hands clutching his head, breathing rapidly, looking pained, and groaning incessantly.
No one knows what kind of pain he is enduring.
No one knows what terrifying images are swirling in his mind.
"A potion of despair," Praris answered readily. "It can make a person feel immense pain."
Hermione looked up at Praris and asked, "How could you let Harry go?"
"Don't beg her! She won't let Harry go!" Ginny said angrily. "She'd kill Harry!"
Hermione didn't beg Prarese, but Ron started pleading with Ginny: "Stop it, Ginny... if we keep talking, we'll just have to hope Snape takes the wrong medicine to save Harry!"
The trio and Praris were already quite familiar with each other, especially from their Potions class together—she was able to outperform the half-blood prince of the same age when she was prepared.
Ron felt that no one, except Snape and Slughorn, could do anything to Praris. And Slughorn was really unreliable. When Ron was poisoned, it was Harry who stuffed the dung bead into Ron's mouth, which saved his life.
Prarese looks at Hermione, and Hermione looks at Prarese.
“I have no intention of asking you for anything,” Hermione said softly. “And I will never ask you for anything.”
"Oh?" Praris asked curiously, "So what do you plan to do?"
“I’m not begging you, Praris,” Hermione said, emphasizing each word, “because I believe you won’t really kill Harry.”
The wind rustled the trees, interspersed with Harry's intermittent groans.
Prareus chuckled with some annoyance, pulled a small bottle from his cork bag, and tossed it to Hermione.
Hermione was startled and panicked. Luckily, Ron leaped out and caught the medicine bottle in time.
"Wow," Ron muttered to himself as he lay on the ground, "a perfect save."
"Save Harry first!" Hermione snatched the medicine bottle from Ron's hand and ran towards Harry.
Prareus shouted to Hermione, "Oral!"
Hermione quickly pulled the vial away, but Harry's jaw was clenched shut in pain. Seeing this, Ginny acted decisively, prying Harry's mouth open. Hermione then shoved the bottle opening into Harry's mouth to prevent him from closing it again.
Ron had just gotten up from the ground when he saw the two girls' brutal behavior and couldn't help but shudder.
"Why isn't it working yet?" Ginny said anxiously, frequently turning back to look at Praris.
Praris casually pulled an ornate pocket watch from his pocket and said to the three of them, "Do you know what time it is?"
Without waiting for their reply, Praris suddenly began counting down: "Ten, nine, eight... three, two, one."
"Cough cough cough-"
Harry suddenly started coughing violently and slowly opened his eyes.
Praris smiled and said, "At this time yesterday, I was just putting Draco on Baron's stretcher."
Hermione, Ron, and Ginny were all taken aback.
If learning the Patronus Charm requires repeatedly recalling happy moments, then the Despair Potion is the nemesis of the Patronus Charm.
Harry endured those ten-odd minutes he didn't want to recall. He kept dreaming, waking from one nightmare only to find himself in another. He thought he was awake, but was quickly overwhelmed by the painful memories, realizing once again that he was still dreaming.
He has been truly awake for several minutes now, but he still occasionally doubts whether he is actually awake at all.
“I think—” Harry said in a hoarse voice, “I want to talk to Praris alone.”
Ron and Ginny were way late for their Quidditch practice, so the siblings decided to stay and wait for Harry. Hermione, of course, wasn't going to leave either.
Thus began this "one-on-one" chat, which could hardly be called "alone," with the three of them watching from a distance.
Praris and Harry walked along the shore of the Black Lake. Harry's back was soaked with sweat, and the wind made him shiver.
Harry spoke first, saying, "I'm sorry."
After a second, he said again, "Thank you."
"Sorry?" Praris scoffed, "It's not like I'm the one who got hurt, why are you apologizing to me?"
Harry shook his head and said, "I don't apologize to Malfoy. Praris, I only apologize to you."
“I accidentally stumbled upon Malfoy’s secret, and we got into a fight,” Harry said weakly. “At first, we were just fighting each other, but then things changed.”
Malfoy shouted half of the Crucifixion Charm at Harry, who had been thinking about "Edge of the Soul" the whole time. As a result, at the crucial moment, he actually used "Edge of the Soul".
“Yesterday, I kept trying to comfort myself,” Harry said. “Ginny believed I couldn’t do it, and I kept telling myself that too—admitting mistakes is hard.”
Praris sneered and repeated Harry's words: "Hmph, there's no way!"
“Actually, I have a way.” Harry frowned, seemingly a little uncomfortable. “I learned the Disarming Charm at the Dueling Club. I could have done that too, but I didn’t.”
When people make mistakes, they can't help but find excuses and try every means to absolve themselves. It's as if having a reason makes the mistake acceptable.
Praris remained silent.
Harry said, "A murderer cannot excuse the murder, nor can a person who hurts others. So I accept... I accept your revenge."
Under the influence of the Despair Potion, Harry saw all the things that had saddened and frightened him. Harry realized that no matter what excuse Peter Pettigrew made, he had betrayed Harry's parents.
Since Harry believes he cannot forgive Peter Pettigrew, he can accept Prader's anger.
“But at the same time, Prarese,” Harry said firmly, “I will not apologize to Malfoy! Because he tried to use the Unforgivable Curse on me, only he didn’t succeed.”
Prareas suddenly turned around, startling Ginny and Ron, who were standing not far away, so they immediately stood up.
But after turning around, Praris did nothing but stare at Harry with trembling eyes.
After a long silence, Praris said, "I regret it. It wasn't worth it at all."
“If I hadn’t taken revenge on you, you wouldn’t have forgotten almost killing Draco in the bathroom,” Praris said somberly. “But I tormented you, achieved my desired revenge, and freed your heart.”
People who have made mistakes, if they have any conscience, would rather their families punch them than forgive them out of kindness.
Dumbledore's hundred-plus years of life hadn't been wasted. He knew Prarese would be measured in his revenge, so he deliberately indulged Prarese's actions, waiting for this very moment.
Courage is not limited to boldness in the face of danger, but also includes honesty in the face of mistakes.
Harry probably did better than Dumbledore imagined. He faced the day he made the mistake head-on, apologized for what he should apologize for, and didn't bow down for what he shouldn't apologize for.
Harry Potter tells others that he is "a complete Dumbledore," but wasn't Dumbledore also scheming in every way about Harry's upbringing?
It was a textbook example of scheming; Dumbledore knew what kind of person Prader and Harry were.
Therefore, taking advantage of this situation becomes quite simple. With just a few words, everything falls into place naturally.
Dumbledore accomplished both Harry's education and Prader's reassurance in one fell swoop. Meanwhile, Prader achieved his goal of revenge, and Harry also matured and reconciled with himself.
After that, Prasleys had done what she needed to do, and there was no reason for her to continue holding a grudge against Harry. She remained a valuable asset to the Order of the Phoenix.
Dumbledore is still Dumbledore after all.
Praris hated that she had the ability to discover all this. If she had been oblivious, she would only feel the thrill of revenge now!
Unfortunately, she was seventeen, not seventy.
Being clever is not difficult for her, but true wisdom requires the accumulation of experience.
Harry lowered his head, clearly feeling much better after waking up from the Despair Potion.
Harry said honestly, "So I thank you, Praris."
Everything's right, Praris thought through gritted teeth. No wonder Harry's next words after "I'm sorry" were "thank you!"
This guy isn't actually stupid, he's just a bit stubborn!
Praris gave a polite smile: "You flatter me, Harry."
Harry suddenly had a bad feeling.
Prarese looks scary when she's not smiling, but she becomes creepy when she smiles.
“It is an honor for me and the Half-Blood Prince to offer such rare spells and hundreds of pages of handwritten notes to the Savior,” Praris said sincerely and humbly. “How could we possibly restrict the renowned Harry Potter from using them? Surely not?”
A short fishbone got stuck in Harry's throat; it wasn't piercing, but it was still uncomfortable.
Seeing Harry's expression, Pralis was finally satisfied. Her revenge of relentlessly pursuing and killing someone seemed somewhat childish, but it was satisfying enough.
—But revenge is all about feeling good, so who cares if it's childish or not!
Praris revealed a somewhat sinister smile, his lips slightly upturned, and turned to leave.
“Plass!” Harry called out to her again. “I…I didn’t mean that! I admit it! I’ve always been prejudiced against Slytherin…”
Praris didn't want to listen anymore; she secretly didn't want Harry to be able to resolve the mental constraints that were weighing on him all at once.
Praris thought this and did it, immediately taking a step forward to physically interrupt Harry.
She said calmly, “That’s interesting, Harry. You seem to think that an apology can smooth things over—if apologies were that useful, what would we need police and Aurors for!”
“No!” Harry quickly followed. “Even if it’s no use, I still have to apologize to you—Hermione is right, you gave me Felix Felicis, taught me Occlumency, and copied my notes, but it’s much more than that, Praris!”
