Mentioning Dumbledore, Hermione lowered her head, her eyes filled with tears, and she said illogically, "Plares... Mundungus is dead... I'm all alone now."
Mundungus is dead? Wait a minute, is there any connection between Mundungus being dead and Hermione being alone?
Praris thought for a moment: "Are you feeling bad right now? Because Mundungus is dead... You're experiencing the cruelty of war, aren't you?"
Hermione nodded, sobbing, and after Prareas quickly used a spell to make the others ignore the two of them, she struggled to organize her thoughts and finally said what she had been holding back for so long.
It turns out that this girl also went through a rather brutal month.
Hermione knew she was doing something dangerous, and that the Death Eaters wouldn't spare their loved ones. So, at the start of summer vacation, Hermione altered her parents' memories, sending them to Australia, far away from the danger.
But Hermione couldn't do that with Krum.
She couldn't make Krum forget who he had loved, nor could she drag him into this deadly war, and she couldn't reveal the truth.
“I told Krum…” Hermione said dejectedly, “It’s over between us.”
Krumyo Hermione visited the lavender fields in the Cotswolds. Standing on the edge of the field, his shy smile vanished in an instant.
"Каквоказваш?"
(Bulgarian: What?)
It seems that in that short period of time, Krum had forgotten all the English he had learned and was only using his native language unconsciously.
Hermione lowered her head, her hands clenched tightly together, and said, word by word, "Will, I'm sorry."
"Where did I make it? Was it bad?"
Krum's English was a jumbled mess, as if he had reverted to the time when he first started learning English.
Hermione shook her head: "No, you're fine."
"But why?" Krum asked cautiously. "This isn't like you. Did something bad happen to you?"
"No." Hermes felt something blocking his chest. "It's just that I'm an idiot."
“You’re not!” Krum retorted loudly, but quickly lowered his voice, as if afraid of frightening Hermione. “Hermione, you are good, better, the best.”
He racked his brains and said that he had piled all the comparative grammar he had learned onto one person.
“Will, don’t you understand yet?” Hermione took a deep breath and blurted out everything in one breath. “Just like Rita Skeeter wrote in the newspapers, I’m a woman who plays with men’s feelings. I like collecting capable men, like you and Harry. You’ve had your fun, it’s time to find the next one!”
Krum seemed stunned by her sudden outburst of words, or perhaps his brain's translator had malfunctioned; he just stood there dumbfounded.
After a long pause, he said, "Hemien, most of what the reporters and newspapers write isn't true, but I really know you. I know you're not that kind of girl."
Hermes felt powerless. She tried her best to push Krum to a safe place, but Krum seemed not to understand her meaning of breaking up at all. He just kept telling her not to smear him.
Hermione said almost coldly, "That means you don't know me well enough. I'll tell you the truth because you've provided me with emotional value. But Will, playing dumb won't work—I'll tell you the truth."
She told Krum very directly in Bulgarian, "I want to break up."
Hermione clearly remembers that the sun was shining brightly that day, but Krum looked like a big bear that had been caught in the rain, his frustration was palpable.
Chapter 202 Farewell and Regret
“Krum is a warrior representing Durmstrang.” After a moment’s consideration, Prarese said, “If you tell him the truth, he might not be afraid of danger.”
Hermione burst into tears, covering her mouth and shaking her head: "I know he's not afraid! But... this is my own choice, how can I let him be persecuted because of me?"
In the fight against Voldemort, Hermione accumulated countless experiences, strength, and courage over six years, and she was willing to risk her life for a peaceful future.
But Krum is different.
Hermione didn't think Krum lacked her awareness; rather, she felt he shouldn't have gotten involved in this matter in the first place.
Grindelwald murdered Krum's grandfather. At Durmstrang, many students' families still haunted by the shadow of that war, and Krum was one of them. He loathed extremist forces like the Mughals and the brutality of war.
Krum is now a superstar, a Quidditch player who has trained in Bulgaria and competed in various countries for years. With the Death Eaters becoming increasingly rampant, Quidditch matches in England have been repeatedly cancelled. He shouldn't have come to England, but Hermione is here.
In the flower fields of the Cotswolds, Hermione realizes that if she doesn't give up on this relationship, Krum will risk coming to this land, which is shrouded in the shadow of war, time and time again for her.
Loving someone brings fear and makes you vulnerable. Since Krum has a safe and bright path to follow, Hermione can't bring herself to involve him in the war when she knows he has nothing to do with it.
Krum's family had already suffered the loss of family members in Grindelwald's war. How would his parents cope with the danger of losing their father in their youth and possibly their son in their old age?
Praris understood completely.
It was precisely because Krum might join the fight against Voldemort for Hermione's sake that Hermione couldn't let Krum know why; she preferred to let Krum believe that she was a heartless and wicked woman.
“Hermione, you’re a good girl.” Prareas looked at her sadly. “Krum knows that too. Your lie was so clumsy, how could he believe it?”
Hermione tilted her head back, trying to force the tears back into her eyes, but failed. So she repeatedly wiped her tears with the back of her hand until a handkerchief appeared in front of her.
She buried her face in her handkerchief and sobbed, “Plares, you’re wrong! I’m a bad girl! I did it on purpose… I really did it on purpose! I deliberately told bad lies! I thought, I thought… if I could live to see the end of the war, we could be together again!”
Hermione avoided Krum's questions, hoping that he still harbored a sliver of hope for their relationship. She hoped that once the war ended and the misunderstanding she had deliberately created was cleared up, their love could be rekindled.
Even within the boundless love of justice, there is also personal love. Such selfishness is not shameful.
Prarese felt especially sorry for Hermione. She stood up, walked to Hermione's seat, and hugged her tightly.
“Things will get better,” Praris said. “Autumn is coming soon, and can spring be far behind?”
After their brief conversation, the two prepared to head to the Order of the Phoenix.
Prarese didn't immediately agree to help George; she needed to see the extent of his injuries to determine if she could be of any help, just as she hadn't directly promised to cure Bill before.
Edmund, a physician during his time in the monastery, once said that one should not place too high expectations on the patients' relatives, otherwise, if any problems arise, they are likely to retaliate against the disappointed relatives.
After leaving the café, the two found a deserted alley and quickly Apparated to Grimmauld Place. Then, Hermione, holding Prairie's hand, led her to Number Twelve.
"Praris!"
Ms. Priscilla and Winnie were the first to spot them and rushed over to hug her.
Praris smiled and pulled something out of his suitcase: "I brought Exeter beer and Devon espresso!"
A bunch of bottles and jars were pulled out of Praris's seemingly bottomless suitcase; anyone who didn't know better would have thought she had just returned from a trip to the southwest.
Ms. Priscilla was overjoyed: "Oh! My dear, you're so wonderful! This was my favorite thing when I was a child! My grandmother used to spread super much butter on her bread and coffee, it was so sweet that I would scream!"
"How did you know..." Praris asked, somewhat surprised.
Ms. Priscilla laughed and held up one finger: "Shh, I stole her food!"
"Tsk tsk tsk!" Winnie shook her head in a sarcastic tone. "Prim, you're a bad influence on the kids!"
Ms. Priscilla immediately reached out and reprimanded Winnie.
The Weasleys stood aside, waiting until then to ask Prarese to go see George.
With just one glance, Praris knew that this was a wound inflicted by Divine Sharpness. But clearly, no one here knew the counter-curse of Divine Sharpness... Thinking of this, Praris paused for a moment.
To be honest, Winnie might be able to analyze the Shadowless Slash and try to counter-spell George. But Praris remembered seeing Winnie's still-healing wounds and knew she had also been through a fierce battle.
Winnie wasn't a very brave person, and perhaps she was still shaken and didn't react in time.
Praris kept the matter a secret.
She looked up at the tense Weasleys and said slowly, "This is... a very powerful curse. George Weasley is different from Bill Weasley; he didn't receive timely treatment. I can completely heal his wounds, but restore him to his original state..."
“If it were shortly after he was injured, there would still be some hope,” Praris shook his head. “Now, it’s too late.”
Dumbledore and Bill Weasley both treated their wounds immediately after cutting and removing the wound, but George Weasley's situation was different. His wound had been there for over twelve hours, and even Prader couldn't do much about it.
Mrs. Weasley buried her face in Mr. Weasley's chest and began to cry sadly.
George forced a smile, shrugged, and said, "Mom, you should be happy, now you can tell me apart from Fred!"
Mr. Weasley took Molly upstairs to comfort her, while Prarese stayed in the living room casting a reverse spell on George's ear.
George said, "I thought you'd do something amazing when you grew up."
"For example, becoming a cold-blooded killer," Fred said.
George said, "Or slaughtering cows for ten years in a slaughterhouse."
Praris looked up in confusion.
George said, "We've seen you and Malfoy argue."
Fred said, "In first grade."
George said, "We suspect you have a knife in your mouth."
This is a very euphemistic way of putting it, after all, Prarese is still using a counter-curse on George.
George and Fred privately say that they saw Prares arguing with Malfoy in their first year, and they never imagined that it would turn into another argument years later.
In fact, they hadn't considered many things beyond that. Praris and Draco's love was purely platonic; they hadn't even reached the point of verbal sparring yet.
Pralis finished casting the counter-spell and took a small bottle of White Dense Essence from her suitcase for the brothers. She calmly said, "It sounds like a cold-blooded killer is better. I don't want to kill cows yet—what about Harry?"
What do you want with him?
Ginny, who was sitting on another sofa, suddenly asked.
Hermione immediately replied, "He should be upstairs with Sirius!"
Prarese glanced at Ginny, then gave Hermione a look before turning and heading upstairs.
Hermione pulled Ginny to the other side and said, "You care too much about Harry, but Prader has always only liked Draco Malfoy!"
"Then why did she go to Harry?" Ginny scratched her head in frustration. "Tell me, I shouldn't just revolve around Harry, I should pay more attention to myself. I did that, and Harry noticed me and started to like me."
“But you’re planning to do something, and Harry said he can’t let me know, and he’s afraid Voldemort will hurt the people around him—you know, I’m not afraid of that.” Ginny looked intently at Hermione. “What about Prader? Harry had something to say to her alone at the Black Lake, and now she has something to say to Harry alone?”
Hermione patted Ginny on the shoulder: "You should be more confident and trust Harry more. Do you think Harry is the kind of guy who would cheat on you?"
Ginny was silent for a long time before saying, "No."
“Prareth isn’t either,” Hermione said softly. “She knew all along that Malfoy was a Death Eater, but because of their relationship, she didn’t tell anyone.”
"What?" Ginny exclaimed in surprise, "Then she..."
Hermione shook her head: "She's trustworthy. We've been sure of that for five or six years. It's precisely because Malfoy became a Death Eater that she hates Voldemort even more and wishes he were dead sooner..."
Meanwhile, Praris found Harry on the second floor. He was with Sirius, playing with Sirius's old things.
“Harry, I have something to ask you,” Praris said.
Harry looked at Sirius, who waved him away. Prader dragged Harry into an empty room and began setting up security measures, leaving Harry completely bewildered.
"What's wrong?" Harry asked.
