"Hey hey hey... I know, I'll go get it for you right away!" Reina, who had just finished grilling the fish and hadn't even had a bite to eat yet, stood up with a slightly helpless expression and said.

Newgate was a little embarrassed. Although he didn't know where Reina got all that liquor, he vaguely knew that Reina had to pay a price for it.

Because he looked pained every time he took out these things he had never seen before, which was far beyond what Berry could offer.

Soon, Reina returned from the cabin with two bottles of liquor in his hand. He tossed them to Newgate and said, "Brother, you'd better save them. Who knows when we'll have another one!"

"Glug glug glug... This is enough for me to drink for a while!" Newgate said happily as soon as he received the liquor from Reina.

Marco and Bista both looked at Newgate with curiosity, wondering what kind of wine could have made Newgate lose his composure like this.

"What are you looking at? You two are still young, so don't drink this. Didn't you see that Reina hasn't drunk any?" Newgate took out a small cup from behind him. This was specially prepared for him by Reina, and it was for drinking baijiu (Chinese liquor).

If you drink too much baijiu (Chinese liquor) at once because of its high alcohol content, it can be harmful to your health.

Once Newgate opened the bottle and poured out a glass, Marco couldn't sit still any longer; the aroma of the liquor was simply too strong.

"Um... First mate? Is there any left? Could you give us some too?" Marco asked Reina with a slightly ingratiating tone.

"Hmph! Now I'm the first mate?" Reina sneered, but still took out the gourd hanging on his body, uncorked it, and poured a glass for Marco and Vista each. "This wine is quite strong, so drink slowly!"

Marco completely ignored Reina and downed his glass of liquor in one gulp, while Vista, following Reina's advice, only took a small sip at a time.

"Cough cough cough... It's so spicy!" Marco gulped down the liquor in one go, almost choking on it until tears streamed down his face.

Newgate felt a little sorry for Marco, not for Marco, but for that glass of white wine that had been wasted.

After dinner, Marco and Vista were indeed completely drunk. After throwing them into the room, Reina continued working while sorting out the gains and losses of the day's battle.

Overall, although his current strength is not bad, he lacks combat experience, as can be seen from the fact that he did not cause any damage to Zephyr during today's fight.

Besides combat experience, he also lacks a special move that can save his life or fight to the death. This is the most important thing for him to do next: develop his own unique moves.

Chapter 33 Diamond Jozu

"Beep... Seventh consecutive day of clocking in... Payday being settled..."

You have received a base salary of 70 points.

Overtime Pay: Fragments of the Moonwalk Skill Manual (Part 1)

After finishing his workday, Reina received his wages for the day, and surprisingly, he was given a fragment of Yuebu's scroll as overtime pay.

He had seen this item in the shop before: a fragment of the Six Styles of the Navy, costing 5000 points each, randomly given by the system—quite a rip-off.

So even though Reina has enough points to buy one, he didn't! He didn't know how many points it would cost to collect all the skills of the Six Styles of the Navy, and he felt it would be a waste.

Unexpectedly, they actually gave me a bill for overtime pay this time. Thinking about how I often had to give up overtime pay in the past because of time constraints, Reina felt like he had missed out on a fortune.

The next morning, as usual, after finishing his work, Reina continued to find Marco and Vista to spar with. This would not only increase his sparring experience but also help him improve his mastery of his own abilities.

The Sharingan's abilities cannot be upgraded, but the Black Emperor's abilities, as he uses and develops them, increase in the total amount of energy he can absorb and the speed at which he can convert it.

"Oh!"

Reina blocked Marco's kick with one hand and caught Vista's twin swords with the other, his Sharingan slowly rotating in his eyes.

"Retreat!" Marco and Vista retreated simultaneously, having noticed the change in Reina's Sharingan and knowing that he was about to make a move.

"Retreat? There's no way to escape!" Reina's lips curled slightly as he moved quickly. He had already discovered Marco's weakness through his Sharingan.

"Oh!"

Sure enough, after quickly closing in, Reina punched Marco in the stomach, sending him flying.

Despite Marco being hit, Vista calmly launched a counterattack.

The twin swords struck Reina's back, but the feeling of not hitting him properly sent a jolt through his hands. Vista knew he had been too slow; Reina, who had just released his energy, was already able to absorb it again.

"Should we continue?" Reina asked, standing still as he watched Vista retreat. He didn't give chase.

Bista shook his head, indicating that he alone was no longer a threat to Reina.

“Vista! Believe me, a lighter rapier might be more suitable for you than a traditional longsword. Since your attack style is mainly based on agility, you might as well maximize that and it might bring you greater attack power!” Reina said to Vista earnestly.

That's right. Although Vista is now a dual-wielder, the weapon he uses is just an ordinary longsword, not the kind of Western longsword that Reina remembers.

Vista nodded thoughtfully, but didn't mention changing weapons. Although he knew Reina also knew some swordsmanship, every swordsman had his own ideas.

Therefore, Reina only made a suggestion and did not insist on it.

"Rayner!" Newgate, who was at the helm, called out when he saw that their sparring session was over.

"Brother Newgate?"

"What is your purpose in sparring with Marco and Vista?" Newgate asked with a smile.

Reina paused for a moment, then said thoughtfully, "It's mainly to hone my own combat experience and my abilities! It'll also give them more combat experience!"

"In that case, why don't you try using your abilities without your eyes?"

“I understand!” Reina nodded to indicate that he understood.

After catching his breath, Marco and Vista discussed again how to counter Reina's abilities.

The main problem lies in Reina Black Emperor's abilities; they are indeed incredibly difficult to counter when dealing with opponents like them who cannot exceed their absorption limit in a single strike.

Only those who frequently fight and spar with Reina can roughly sense whether Reina has absorbed enough energy based on their experience.

"I will deactivate my Sharingan in the next battle. Big brother is right, a sparring match can only continue if both sides improve!" Reina said after returning, having deactivated his Sharingan.

"Tch~ It's not very useful whether or not you open those eyes!" Marco said this, but he was actually a little relieved.

The all-seeing power of Reina's Sharingan can indeed put a lot of pressure on those who haven't yet developed Observation Haki.

As expected, in the ensuing battle, Reina, who had deactivated his Sharingan, faced immense pressure and was no longer able to completely suppress the combined attack of Marco and Vista.

Even his Black Emperor abilities were somewhat affected, because the two were already very familiar with Reina's Black Emperor abilities. Therefore, without the Sharingan's assistance, Reina could no longer act as recklessly as before in terms of timing and choice.

However, this also allowed Reina to focus more on the battle, which greatly increased his combat experience and rapidly improved his abilities with the Black Emperor.

"Dad, pirate ship spotted ahead! Judging from the flag, it seems to be the Arabi Pirates! Their captain, Bertie Arabi, has a bounty of fifty million!" Marco, standing on the mast and acting as the lookout, excitedly shouted down.

"Gurrah...men, prepare for battle! Let's seize all their treasure and food!" Newgate, who had been dozing on the deck, suddenly stood up and laughed as he spoke.

They had run out of food three days ago, and after eating fish for three days straight, even Newgate was starting to feel the strain!

Although Reina cooked them all sorts of dishes, his culinary skills hadn't reached the level of Sanji's ability to turn the ordinary into the extraordinary. The food he made was merely passable; if it weren't for his knowledge of various cooking methods, the others would have already flipped the table.

"Hahahaha... Finally, I don't have to eat fish anymore! I feel like I never want to eat fish again in my life!" Marco flapped his arms, which had transformed into wings, and slowly landed on the deck, saying excitedly.

As the Whitebeard Pirates' dhow approached, the enemy spotted them and opened fire. However, thanks to Marco and Vista's intervention, all the cannonballs aimed at them were dealt with beforehand.

Once the two ships made contact, the four members of the Whitebeard Pirates, like hungry wolves, quickly defeated their opponents.

Their captain, Bertie Arabi, the berserker with a bounty of fifty million, was cleaved away by an excited Newgate with a single blow, disappearing to who knows where.

What a waste!

Watching Marco and Vista grinning foolishly as they carried away each other's treasure and food, Reina felt incredibly heartbroken that he couldn't take away this decent-looking pirate ship.

“Alright, Reina! With our strength, the treasure is within our grasp, isn’t it? It’s just a pirate ship. You’ll find that we not only have so many ships that we don’t know where to put them, but we also have so much treasure that you don’t even want it!” Newgate said, standing on the enemy ship and patting Reina on the shoulder.

"Dad... Reina, come quick!" Just then, Marco's voice came from the cabin.

Newgate and Reiner exchanged a glance and headed toward the cabin.

"What...what's going on?"

In a small room inside the ship's cabin, a burly young man, chained by a thick chain, was crouching in a corner, watching Marco and his companions warily.

"What's going on?" Newgate's calm words contained anger. Treating a child like this was unforgivable, even for a pirate.

"It seems they were captured by those pirates, but I don't know the specifics!" Marco shook his head and said.

“Child, what’s your name? Why are you here?” Newgate walked up to the locked-up boy and asked softly.

"They said I was a monster, so they locked me up and planned to sell me!" the boy replied in a muffled voice.

"A monster?" The group looked at each other in bewilderment.

"What's your name?" Reina asked the boy, as if he had just remembered.

"Joz!" The burly boy raised his hand, seemingly intending to touch his head, but the chains on his hands prevented him from reaching it.

Reina gave a knowing look and said to Newgate, "He should also be a Devil Fruit user, which is why he's locked up like this. However, these aren't Seastone handcuffs, so they shouldn't have any effect on him."

Newgate ignored all of that, swung his sword and cut the chains in half, saying, "Since you have nowhere to go, come aboard my ship! From now on, call me Dad!"

"Dad!" Joz called out after thinking for a moment.

“Well, you’ve got another brother now…” Reina said with a sly laugh.

Marco rolled his eyes, completely ignoring Reina.

Vista walked over to Jozu, extended his hand, and said, "Welcome to the Whitebeard Pirates! My name is Vista, I joined the crew a little earlier than you! That guy over there with the pineapple-headed look is Marco, and this foul-mouthed fellow is Reina, our first mate!"

"Hello!" Joz replied in a low voice, seemingly a little shy.

Looking at this chubby, short-legged boy, Reina found it hard to imagine that he was the future Diamond Jozu, who was known for having the strongest physical defense.

After taking all the treasure and food from the pirate ship, leaving only some food for the pirates to survive, the Whitebeard Pirates set sail again, this time with one more crew member.

Sailing was very boring, so Joz, who had just boarded the ship, became the new plaything of Reina and Marco, who even claimed that they were helping Joz study his abilities.

The honest Vista didn't participate in their pranks. After watching Joz being toyed with by Reina and Marco, he actually thanked them.

Perhaps out of a pang of conscience, after receiving Jozu's gratitude, Marco finally gave up teasing Jozu and began to genuinely teach him how to master the Devil Fruit power within him.

Jozu's ability is to turn any part of his body into a transparent, pure diamond. Diamonds possess extremely strong physical defense and attack power, and ordinary physical attacks are almost ineffective against them.

Since Marco's betrayal, Reina has not only failed to reflect on his actions, but has become even more outrageous. Under the pretext of testing the limits of the opponent's defense, he has repeatedly absorbed full energy and released it on Jozu, causing the honest Jozu to avoid Reina recently.

If Newgate hadn't privately told him that what Reiner was doing was actually beneficial to his mastery of the abilities, he would have suspected that Reiner had a problem with him.

Chapter 34 Reina's Disappearance

"First mate!..."

"Don't worry about me! Let's go find the captain!" Reina stopped Diamond Joz, who was about to come over, and said seriously.

“But…” Joz hesitated. The navy in front of him was exceptionally powerful, far beyond his ability to deal with. If it weren’t for Reina’s protection, he probably would have been knocked down with a single punch.

"Stop talking nonsense, he's not someone you can handle! Only after you leave will I have a chance to escape! Marco, take Joz away!" Reina said bitterly, looking at Zephyr in front of him.
