Lin Mu was stunned.

He looked down at himself; he was wearing a drab, coarse cloth garment with worn-out cuffs.

But this is not the point.

The important thing is that he is still alive.

He touched his throat, then his stomach; it didn't hurt, he didn't have a fever, he felt nothing at all. The bowl of arsenic that could have killed him seemed to have never existed.

"This……"

Lin Mu threw off the covers and got out of bed. His bare feet touched the cold floor, and the chill crept up from his toes, making him more awake.

He looked around the room, his mind a jumbled mess.

crossed?

Wear it twice?

Where have I traveled to? The Qing Dynasty? The Ming Dynasty? Or some fictional dynasty?

As he was thinking, he suddenly heard footsteps outside the door.

Lin Mu subconsciously took a step back, staring at the door.

The footsteps stopped at the door.

The door was pushed open.

A young maid in a light blue dress peeked in and her eyes lit up when she saw Lin Mu standing by the bed. She turned and called out, "Miss! Miss! The young master is awake!"

Before Lin Mu could speak, the little maid had already skipped and hopped away.

A moment later, the light at the doorway dimmed.

A figure walked in.

Lin Mu looked up and was stunned.

Chapter 2 Son-in-Law

She was a young woman, who looked to be about seventeen or eighteen years old. She wore a moon-white long dress with a light blue silk sash tied around her waist. Her jet-black hair was tied in a simple bun, with a white jade hairpin inserted diagonally. Her features were exquisite, with clear and cold eyes and skin as white as the finest mutton-fat jade. She exuded an aloofness that kept people at a distance.

But she is truly beautiful.

Compared to the girl in front of him, the school beauty that Lin Mu had pursued in real life was like a roadside weed.

"This……"

Lin Mu opened his mouth, but for a moment he didn't know what to say.

The woman glanced at him, her gaze indifferent, as if she were looking at a piece of furniture she didn't quite like. She didn't speak, but instead turned to the young maid and said, "You may leave now."

The maidservant responded and left, closing the door behind her.

The room fell silent.

The woman then turned her gaze back to Lin Mu, looking him up and down. A slight twitch appeared at the corner of her mouth, her expression neither one of disdain nor mockery.

"It's good that you're awake."

Her voice was clear and cool, like a mountain spring.

Lin Mu coughed lightly, about to ask what was going on, when the woman spoke first:

"Our marriage is only because of the agreement between my father and your father back then."

Lin Mu's words were cut off.

The woman continued, “Your father saved my father’s life in the coffin of death. My father was grateful for the kindness and did not mind that your family was in decline. He pitied that you had lost your parents and were all alone, so he kept his promise and betrothed me to you.”

She paused, her gaze falling on Lin Mu's drab gray cloth clothes, a hint of undisguised contempt flashing in her eyes.

"But you have to face reality."

"It's impossible between us."

Lin Mu blinked, stunned.

A coffin for death?

The woman seemed to misunderstand his silence, thinking he was hurt, and the smile on her lips grew even colder.

"I'm already level 18 this year. With my talent, I'll be able to summon skeletons next year. You should understand what that means."

She slightly raised her chin, her tone carrying a hint of pride, and a hint of...pity?

"Someone like you, a mere first-level Taoist priest..."

She didn't continue.

But the meaning is self-evident.

Lin Mu, however, paid no attention to her haughty attitude.

His mind went blank, and only one sentence echoed in his head.

Level 18.

Summon skeletons.

A first-level junior Taoist priest.

Isn't this a setting from "Legend of Mir"?!

He abruptly looked up, staring at the unbelievably beautiful woman before him, and blurted out, "You're level 18? Almost ready to summon skeletons? Have you practiced healing spells? Mental combat techniques? Poisoning spells? Soul fire talismans?"

The woman was taken aback by his sudden question, then frowned, her contempt deepening.

She thought Lin Mu was scared by her words, that he was trying to confirm how amazing she was so that he would give up on her.

"Yes."

She said coldly, "I have already cultivated all of these."

"And you—"

She didn't finish speaking because Lin Mu wasn't listening to her at all.

Lin Mu lowered his head and quickly glanced at his clothes. They were drab gray cloth clothes, made of coarse linen, with frayed cuffs, exactly the same as those worn by newly created characters in the game's starting village.

Then he closed his eyes.

Something surfaced in my mind.

Lin Mu opened his eyes.

He stared blankly at the line "[Skill: Arsenic]" for a full three seconds.

Arsenic?

What kind of skill is this?

But he didn't have time to think about it further.

Because he confirmed something.

He really did time travel.

I was transported to the continent of Marfa.

I've been transported to the world of "Legend of Mir".

Lin Mu's lips began to curl upwards.

It started to twitch and then turned into a smile.

As they laughed, they burst into loud laughter as they looked up at the sky.

"Hahahahaha-"

The woman was startled by his sudden burst of laughter, took a step back, and frowned even more deeply: "You...you're crazy?"

Lin Mu ignored her.

He took a deep breath, suppressing the urge to roll on the ground, then raised his head and looked intently at the woman:

Where is my wooden sword?

The woman paused for a moment, seemingly confused by his abrupt change of thought.

"what?"
