Infinite Chimera Creation

Stuart adjusted his glasses, stood up, and walked outside.
"I've already told you the solution. Whether you want to use it or not is up to you. I have other things to do, so I'll be leaving now."
Stepping out of the secret room, Stuart's lips curled into a slight smile, a hint of anticipation in his heart.
Stuart had studied several werewolves and discovered that, for some unknown reason, the dangerous werewolf virus could only spread among humans. Even if an animal survived being bitten by a werewolf, it would not have the werewolf virus in its body and would not exhibit werewolf characteristics.
"What happens when the Animagus transforms on the night of the full moon? Does the transformation kill off all the werewolf virus in their bodies, turning them back into ordinary people? Or does the werewolf virus mutate in animals? This is truly something to look forward to."
"When Lupin completes Animagus for the first time, I must find a reason to draw some blood and tissue from him. However, I can't be too obvious, after all, that old fox Dumbledore is also keeping an eye on this werewolf in the school."
Driven by curiosity about how the werewolf virus would change within an Animagus, Stuart returned to the lounge, intending to quickly peruse the newly discovered materials to see if they could offer any inspiration.
Chapter Nineteen: The Problem of Potions (Revised)
To Stuart's surprise, when he returned to the lounge, his senior, Blanche, was already sitting in his original spot, idly flipping through those old and obscure documents.
"Hey, Stuart, you're back? Don't worry, I've noted down the page numbers you were on, so you won't get lost."
Seeing Stuart return, Blanche got up and sat down to the side, handing the seat back to him before explaining with a smile.
"It's okay, I remember exactly how many pages I read. But, senior, is there something you needed from me?"
After sitting down, Stuart casually flipped the documents on the table back to where he had been looking before, and looked at Blanche with a puzzled expression.
Blanche tilted her head and smiled.
"Nothing much, I just finally finished the long paper the professor assigned and wanted to relax, so I came to find you."
"You want me to help you relax? Senior, you're joking. What can I possibly do to make you feel relaxed? If you ask me, you should go back to your dorm and get a good night's sleep. That would definitely be more relaxing than wasting time here."
"Just talking to me is enough. As long as someone can chat with me, I can relax quickly."
Blanche stretched out her body and leaned back lazily in her chair.
"I strongly refuse this request. I wasted a lot of my time just now being called out by those idiots to talk about the locked room. I don't want to waste any more time. I need to finish the theoretical part before the holiday so I can start the experiment as soon as I get home."
"You're willing to chat with your idiot friend about escape rooms, but not with the senior who helped you yesterday. Should I say Stuart, you value your friends, or that you're ungrateful?"
"It's just that their stories are interesting to me."
As he flipped through the documents on the table, Stuart waved his hand dismissively, speaking the truth without a care in the world. Stuart had always pursued fun and enjoyment.
Because the transformation and synthesis of life brought him pleasure, he devoted himself to studying it and spent a year searching for information.
Because magic intrigued him, he studied it diligently, even going without sleep for several days in a row.
Because he found the Animagus transformation of werewolves interesting, he gave Lupin advice, even at the cost of sacrificing some of his own study time.
Chatting with a female senior and helping her relax was clearly not a fun thing to do, so Stuart refused without hesitation.
If a typical girl were told by a boy, "Talking to you is boring, please stop bothering me," she would probably just storm off in anger.
While Stuart's words weren't as direct, the meaning was roughly the same.
However, Blanche, the thick-skinned girl, didn't seem angry at all. She leaned back lazily in her chair and waved her hand casually.
"Ah, it's okay if you don't want to talk to me. Just let me watch you flip through the documents. Just watching you like this makes me feel relaxed."
Stuart stopped what he was doing and looked at Blanche in confusion. He had deliberately said something offensive in the hopes that this senior would get angry and leave, but he didn't expect that this woman would not only not leave, but also say such a strange thing.
"What you just said has piqued my interest. Could you explain why you can relax just by looking at other people? If so, I'd like to learn that method."
Blanche wore a strange expression, as if she had seen something horrific. She raised her hand to cover her eyes and spoke in a lyrical tone.
"Oh, Stuart, you'll never find a girlfriend like this. Oh no, don't look at me with that even more confused look, or I'll feel sorry for you."
Seeing that Stuart still looked confused and clearly hadn't understood what he meant, Blanche sighed in resignation and waved his hand weakly.
"Just think of it as me finally finishing my studies and no longer having to work so hard. I can leisurely watch others still suffering in the sea of books. I will feel happy and relaxed."
Frowning, Stuart uttered the words, "Ravenclaws shouldn't find being immersed in books a torment," and then ignored Blanche, who seemed a bit strange today, and focused on reading.
Time always flies when you're focused on something. By the time Stuart had finally mastered part of the information, there were only three days left before his vacation.
This should have been a happy occasion, but Stuart was once again in a bind.
"Damn it, I should have thought of that sooner. This is data from two hundred years ago. Given that people back then used magic potions for everything, how could they possibly not use magic potions in the experiment?"
"Damn it, I should have paid more attention in Potions class. Now look what's happened. Even if a fourth-year student's potion-making skills are considered excellent by a first-year student, it's impossible to concoct potions that require nearly a hundred different ingredients."
"It looks like I'll have to spend a lot of time learning potions again, but who to learn from is a big problem. It's almost vacation time, I can't just go to the professor's house to learn, that old man doesn't look like the type to tutor students during the holidays."
Because the experiment encountered trouble again, Stuart began to habitually press his temples, hoping that the physical pain could relieve his mental headache.
"My foolish junior, look at your movements and your expression, what trouble have you encountered this time?"
Hearing the voice beside him, Stuart pressed his fingers harder against his forehead. Yes, there was another problem, Stuart thought with some distress.
This clueless senior student has been acting strangely ever since she said that watching others study can help you relax. She spends all her free time watching him.
"Senior, there are a lot of people in the lounge. Can you go look at other people instead? Although you didn't make any noise, it still makes me feel very uncomfortable that you keep staring at me."
On the third day, Stuart asked the same question. But Blanche, with a look that seemed to say, "Why are you asking such a stupid question?", answered matter-of-factly.
"Staring at others must be annoying for them, and I don't want to be disliked."
After Stuart seriously protested, "But it bothers me to be watched by my senior," Blanche gave an answer that almost made Stuart curse.
“But didn’t I help Stuart a few days ago? That’s taking advantage of someone’s kindness. Taking advantage of someone’s kindness means demanding something in return for what you have done for them.”
I know what this word means, so you don't need to explain it again.
Hearing such a matter-of-fact answer, Stuart couldn't even muster any anger. He was left with nothing but helplessness. After uttering a complaint, he let it go.
"It's nothing, I just suddenly realized that my knowledge is still too limited, and I should learn more useful things, such as potions, potions, and more potions."
Full of resentment, Stuart flipped through the potion recipe in his hand, a document that made his head spin just by looking at it, and casually replied to his senior.
"Oh? Is all this resentment because of this recipe? Let me see."
As she spoke, Blanche leaned in, completely unconcerned that her chest was pressed against Stuart's face.
Stuart just sat there with a frown, unable to even lean back because he was pressed tightly against the back of the chair.
Fortunately, he's gotten used to this kind of thing lately. Since this thick-skinned guy doesn't care, why should he?
"Let me see, 3 grams of laurel, 3 grams of belladonna powder, a little black basil juice, 5 grams of elderflower juice, a little rosemary, 1 gram of Helga black toad left eye ointment, 3 grams of hairstone, one piece of juvenile black-spotted water snake belly scale, one venom sac of Dana spider... Good heavens, so many things, I dare say even a seventh grader couldn't guarantee they could make this potion."
“You’re right. This potion recipe is the most difficult I’ve ever seen. Even in the seventh-grade potions textbook, there isn’t a recipe that requires so many ingredients. I have no doubt that even a potions professor would have to try many times to succeed.”
After pushing Blanche away, Stuart picked up the recipe again and began to peruse it with obvious frustration, for what seemed like the umpteenth time. Seeing Stuart's troubled expression, Blanche sighed helplessly, her face full of disappointment.
"I bet you're struggling with how to learn potions again, aren't you?"
Chapter Twenty: West (Revised)
Looking at Blanche with a puzzled expression, Stuart tilted his head in confusion. Why did this senior seem to have another plan? Was this thick-skinned girl really that resourceful?
Blanche turned her head sharply, her face flushed, and covered her nose.
"A surprise attack is indeed powerful! The ancients were right."
Frowning, Stuart, whose physical age was only eleven and who was still a cute little boy, became even more puzzled.
"What sudden attack? This is Ravenclaw's lounge. How could an attacker possibly break in silently?"
"It's nothing, don't worry about it, let's continue our previous conversation."
After giving himself a thorough cleaning, Blanche turned around, looked directly into Stuart's eyes, and said seriously as if nothing had happened.
“Stuart, your family is noble. Even if you can’t make such a high-level potion yourself, you can have your father find a high-level potion master to make it for you. You can also take this opportunity to observe and learn.”
Upon hearing this, Stuart nodded in realization. Because he was used to solving everything on his own, he had subconsciously overlooked the option of finding a potion master. Only now, hearing Blanche mention it, did he realize that he really didn't need to confront the book alone.
………………Summer Vacation Divider……………………
The venom of the Balor spider can stabilize the reactions between various substances in potion-making, thus increasing the success rate of most potions.
However, the Barlow spider is small in size, has a slow recovery rate after secreting venom, and is also rare due to its difficulty in reproduction.
This makes the venom of the Baloo spider extremely rare on the market; even some potion masters may not have this precious substance. And even if they did, no one would dare to use it.
In order to persuade the potion master hired by old Stuart to teach him, Stuart modified a Balor spider, enlarging its venom sac three times and increasing its venom regeneration rate seventeen times.
In exchange for the Balor Spider, which took three days to modify, Stuart successfully secured the guidance of the potion master during the holiday.
Stuart originally thought that concocting the potion recorded in the two-hundred-year-old recipe would require a long period of study, and he was even prepared to take a year off from school.
However, after receiving instruction from a potion master—different from the traditional school method that only teaches the method of potion preparation without teaching the underlying principles—Stuart, who had learned a great deal about the principles of potion preparation, discovered...
It turns out that after two hundred years of development, many things in that formula can be simplified using modern methods.
After simplifying the formula, this potion, while still not exactly simple, is not too difficult either.
After several attempts, Stuart became quite adept at concocting this nameless potion. The successful concoction of this potion meant that his experiments could finally resume.
"Although I look down on the barbaric chimera-making techniques of those ancient humans, I have to admit that this method of synthesizing organs directly without involving bloodlines or genes is indeed the fastest way to succeed when the technology is not yet available."
Stuart stroked the large black dog that was lying on the lab table, seemingly asleep, to soothe it, while muttering to himself.
To the left of the black dog, in a glass box large enough to hold the dog, lay a tiny, motionless ant. To the right of the black dog was a green snake, which also seemed to be fast asleep.
"Considering the impact on both controllability and intelligence, it is indeed safer to retain your consciousness. Therefore, lucky West, this powerful force will be under your control from now on."
Stuart bent down and affectionately rubbed his forehead against the black dog's forehead, speaking in a light and inexplicable tone.
This imposing dog was raised by Stuart himself. He treated this dog much better than that stupid dog named Black. At least so far, Stuart has never scolded it.
Although Stuart hadn't thought about this experiment when he was young, he still tried to achieve his goal indirectly because he thought that "raising a loyal dog will come in handy someday." He persuaded his father, who hated dogs, through his mother to buy him a hound puppy with a trace of Cerberus blood.
Although Stuart considered that bloodline to be nothing more than a weakened, inferior, or crippled version, this worthless bloodline made the hound named West more irritable than his kind. Although he was not unintelligent and was very loyal, he was prone to becoming enraged when facing strangers.
"Alright, the experiment is about to begin. Get ready, West. It's going to hurt a lot, and I need you to bear with it. If you pass out, when you wake up, you might find that you can't fully control your body. Now, get to the testing table."
With a faint roar, West stood up and lightly leaped onto the experimental table to the side.
“Very good, West, now lie there quietly and wait for my next command.”
Without turning back to check if West had obediently lay down as he had instructed, Stuart proceeded directly to the first step of the experiment, knowing that West would not disobey his orders.
Opening the glass box, Stuart looked at the tiny ant and carefully pulled out a small bottle from his pocket, a bottle that could only hold a few drops of liquid. Looking at the less than five drops of liquid inside, he stared at it as if he had seen some kind of enchanting treasure, his eyes filled with a mesmerizing light.
These few drops of liquid were made using a simplified recipe and more than seventy ingredients.
