During the boiling process, various ingredients underwent a series of complex reactions, transforming from a mountain of material into the few drops of black liquid that Stuart now holds.

Stuart's hands did not tremble at all as he accurately dripped all the liquid onto the tiny ant, and then quietly waited for the miracle to happen.

In the thick, black liquid, the tiny ant became somewhat blurry and invisible. However, as time passed, after a few minutes, the ant's body became clearly visible again.

It absorbed all the liquid that was larger than its body.

The moment the last drop of liquid was absorbed, a visible change occurred in the ant.

As if under a magnifying spell, the tiny ant rapidly grew larger, becoming quite large in less than a minute.

Then, the ant's soft abdomen suddenly burst open, and the fluid inside easily destroyed the not-so-tough abdominal skin under the influence of gravity.

Only the head and chest, covered by a hard exoskeleton, survived and remained intact.

Even with its abdomen ruptured, the ant didn't struggle at all. This wasn't due to the Sleeping Curse, but rather because Stuart had completely erased its soul. If we were to call it a quirky name, it would be a plant ant.

Originally, Stuart was not capable of erasing a soul, a highly difficult task. However, without Stuart's knowledge, a certain purple synthetic cat autonomously completed the next stage of evolution and awakened abilities related to this.

While this ability is ineffective against powerful life forms, and even humans affected by it would only experience a moment of dizziness, erasing the soul of an ant or a snake is still easily accomplished.

After sprinkling the remaining ants with the potion used to keep the ingredients fresh, Stuart quickly removed the green snake's head and part of its body.

Stuart placed the ant and snake on the experimental table where West was lying, then leaned down and stared into its eyes.

“Listen carefully, West. Now, I need you to be patient. If you can endure the pain of the transformation, you will gain the strength to bite through dragon scales and the deadly poison.”

"Moreover, this snake has the blood of the Invisible Monster, so you might be able to gain the ability to become invisible through it. In that case, you won't have to stay in this boring manor and doze off every day. You can go to Hogwarts with me, you can run freely in the Forbidden Forest, and you can fight werewolves and trolls."

"Of course, after the transformation, those useless werewolves and trolls won't even be worthy of your claws. Finally, I want to say, West, I need you, I need you to hold on."

Chapter Twenty-One: Coldness Beneath Gentleness

On the experimental table, the large black dog trembled, emitting muffled, low growls. Its once-masculine body was clearly contorted. On its shoulder, a head that was not originally its own, obviously an insect-like head, had grown next to its original head, while where a tail should have been, a large, emerald-green snake had replaced it.

At this moment, neither the ferocious snake head nor the ugly ant head moved at all, as if they were dead. Only the canine head that originally belonged to him was open, staring intently at Stuart. Although there was pain in his eyes, there was no resentment that should be present when suffering pain. He simply looked at his master with pure and trusting eyes.

Clearly, Cerberus's bloodline not only endowed him with a ferocity far exceeding that of his kind, but also with a loyalty far more steadfast. This allowed him to endure pain, despite not losing his ability to move—he could easily leap and bite the throat of the one causing him suffering—simply because that person was his master.

“West, I know you’re in pain right now, but this is a necessary process for the transformation, and you have to endure it. Because snakes and ants move differently than dogs, if you don’t stimulate your instincts through pain during the synthesis process and become familiar with their control methods through instinct, you’ll find that you can’t control them at all after the transformation is complete. At that time, these materials that I specially selected for you will just be useless flabby fat hanging on your body.”

Stuart gently stroked the canine head with one hand, while pouring the crimson potion onto the interface of the synthesis with the other, constantly encouraging the loyal hound. As the potion touched the wound, West trembled even more violently, and his roars turned into whimpers.

Although he spoke words of gentle encouragement, Stuart's eyes remained cold and unwavering as he steadily poured the potion into the inlet.

Gradually, the snake's head at the tail of the West began to tremble slightly, lifting up a little, its tongue flicking out and emitting a cold hiss. Finally, after flicking its tongue for the third time, the snake's head began to move flexibly, twisting wildly due to intense pain.

However, the ant's head remained completely still, as if it were asleep.

"So, it seems that lower-level creatures are unable to process the complex information from higher-level animals?"

Looking at the ant's head, Stuart sighed, his voice seemingly filled with deep disappointment, yet his eyes remained cold. Because of Stuart's changed position, West, lying on the experimental table, could not see his eyes, only hear the sigh of dejection. Instantly, intense resentment caused the ant's head to jerk up, its dark mandibles colliding violently, emitting a piercing, sharp sound.

"Indeed, only simple and straightforward signals can control this head. Remember how you feel now, West."

Setting down the potion, Stuart bent down and gently embraced the canine head, nuzzling his forehead tenderly. The ant head swayed slightly, the snake head rested softly on Stuart's shoulder, and the canine head extended its soft tongue to gently lick his cheek.

"The modification is complete. Get some rest today. All your wounds have been healed. However, the lingering pain will prevent you from fully controlling your body. One night's rest should be enough for you to recover. Tomorrow morning, you will fight Karim. Let me see the results of the modification."

Now, jump down yourself. As a reward, you can sleep with me tonight. Ever since you grew up, your father hasn't let you sleep with me, saying it's dangerous. But the experiment was a success today, and I'm so happy, so let's forget about that old man's words for now.”

Upon hearing Stuart's words, West suddenly stood up, rubbed his face hard against Stuart's, then leaped off the experimental table and happily spun around him.

Just as Stuart had said, West regained complete control of his body the next day, as if it had always been that way.

Leading West into the laboratory's basement, Stuart clapped his hands with a smile and announced loudly...

"They're all out now. Welcome, new friend. Of course, he could also be your new boss."

A chilling rustling sound suddenly filled the empty basement, as if something dangerous was about to emerge. And indeed, what crawled out proved to be dangerous.

A snake with seven heads, a spider with more than twenty legs, a lizard with two heads, one on its neck and one on its tail, a crab with blood-red flowers blooming on its back, a toad with a pair of withered bird claws on its abdomen... all sorts of bizarre animals that seemed to challenge human imagination appeared in front of a man and a dog.

These are the products of Stuart's experiments before he enrolled at Hogwarts. They've always stayed in this basement, fed by servants through a special passage; they weren't allowed inside the laboratory. Of course, if any servant couldn't resist their curiosity and sneaked in, the lab staff in the basement would handle the situation and silence them. As for Stuart's parents, they knew their son kept many poisonous creatures in the basement, so they would never enter.

Among these venomous creatures, the most conspicuous was undoubtedly a scorpion that looked enormous, about half the size of a human. What made it so conspicuous was not its size; in fact, there were many larger ones here, such as a toad with a pair of horns on its head, which was almost the size of a small calf.

What makes him so conspicuous is his scorpion appearance. Among a group of bizarrely-looking experimental subjects, he is the only one without any unusual features. Apart from his size, he looks like an ordinary scorpion.

"Alright, Karim, come out and fight West, let's see who's stronger."

Upon hearing Stuart's voice, the scorpion swiftly rushed in front of him, knocking the experimental subjects in his path into the air.

"Oh, very good. It seems you've perfected the flea's leg strength even more. With this kind of speed, in terms of explosive power alone, even a unicorn might not be able to match you. Of course, I'm referring to those unicorns that are now weakened many times over and can be easily hunted by humans, not the mythical beasts of legend."

Sensing the satisfaction Stuart showed towards Karim, West let out a low growl. But Karim only stared at Stuart, ignoring West completely.

Although it's not outwardly apparent, Karim is actually the most modified and most successful experimental subject. Stuart enhanced his intelligence during numerous experiments, which makes Karim look down on other experimental subjects.

Feeling slighted, West began to rage. The bloodline of Cerberus within him kicked in, and a powerful urge to tear the scorpion apart surged within him. Each of the three heads made a threatening gesture, waiting only for Stuart's command to pounce and kill the scorpion.

Chapter Twenty-Two: Satisfactory Works, Favorite Works

Faced with West's provocation, Karim remained remarkably calm, remaining silent and awaiting Stuart's command. After inwardly praising Karim's composure, Stuart turned and walked aside, coldly saying...

"Then, the battle begins!"

The instant Stuart finished speaking, Karim vanished from his spot, rushing towards West. His massive pincers slammed down on the canine's head, completely ignoring the snake's charging head. The ferocious snake head easily bit into Karim's other pincer without any resistance, but the next moment it abruptly pulled back, dodging Karim's gaping maw. The scorpion's modified carapace was not something a snake's head could bite through.

The snake's failed attempt didn't faze West in the slightest. He slightly shifted his body, and the scorpion's pincers, which had been aimed at the dog's head, swung towards the ant's head. The ant's head, which had been waiting patiently, bit precisely onto the pincers. With the ant's immense strength, the snake's shell, which had failed to penetrate, seemed to have vanished.

Karim's scorpion pincers were torn off by the ant-headed creature, the pain causing him to let out a piercing scream like fingernails scratching glass. But it wasn't over yet. The snake-headed creature lunged forward again, its mouth wide open, spraying a glob of emerald venom towards the still-bleeding wound. However, the scorpion seemed oblivious to the dangerous venom, continuing its frantic screams. A hint of pleasure flickered in the snake-headed creature's cold eyes.

"We won"

West cried out inwardly as the emerald venom landed precisely on Karim's wound. But the next change in the scorpion proved his arrogance. The tissue at the wound writhed wildly, and a complete scorpion claw regenerated. Karim brandished his restored claw and charged at West again without a word. As for that swarm of venom? In this world, there weren't many venoms that could threaten Karim. That highly venomous snake specially chosen by Stuart was clearly not good enough.

After rushing towards West, Karim raised his newly grown scorpion claws again. Seeing this, West's dog-headed eyes flashed with a hint of human disdain, and he was about to use the same trick again. But to his surprise, just as the claws were halfway through their swing, a dark shadow suddenly attacked from the side. Before he could react, a thick white mist enveloped both of them, blocking out their view.

Seeing the cloud of white mist, Stuart's lips curled into a smug smile, a hint of pride in his eyes. That dark shape was Karim's tail hook. After its modification, Karim could inject venom into its prey, digesting it into an easily absorbed liquid, or spray venom directly to corrode its enemies' bodies. When needed, it could also spray diluted venom as a white mist, which could both obscure the enemy's vision and cause widespread damage. Even in the heat of battle, the tail hook could unfold to form a second mouthpart, a modified mouthpart with a bite force even greater than its original mouthpart.

As Stuart had predicted, West's piercing scream suddenly erupted from the white mist, then quickly subsided. Moments later, Karim's right claw dragged the unconscious West out of the mist.

The moment he emerged from the white mist, West, who appeared to have fainted, suddenly leaped up and landed on Karim's back. The only thing capable of causing harm, the ant-head, began to bite wildly. The armor on his back was torn apart, and streaks of blood appeared in Karim's purple compound eyes. The tubes hidden beneath the back armor began to writhe, about to release deadly poison gas.

Seeing West leap onto Karim's back, Stuart knew the outcome was decided. Although West possessed a degree of intelligence, knowing how to feign death to escape the poisonous fog, his defeat was already sealed the moment he landed on Karim's body. Karim was Stuart's most prized creation, and naturally, he couldn't be limited to just those abilities. In fact, every part of Karim's body was riddled with channels connecting to poison glands; he could release deadly poison from any part of his body simply by opening his controllable carapace.

The fight should have ended when West bit off Karim's front claw; Karim could have easily injected deadly venom into his mouthparts at that moment. However, because Stuart's order was to fight, not kill, Karim allowed the battle to continue to prevent West's death.

But when West tore open Karim's carapace, Karim sensed danger, to the point that the scorpion instinctively tried to spray venom onto its back. If that venom had actually made direct contact with West's body, West would have been certain to die.

Stuart sighed inwardly and said...

"Stop."

Although by all accounts, West lost this battle, as Karim had multiple opportunities to kill him, Stuart was still relatively satisfied with him. After all, Karim was Stuart's most satisfying creation over three years, having undergone only one modification. The fact that West, who hadn't yet fully grasped his abilities, could pose a threat to Karim was enough to prove that Stuart's year of preparation hadn't been wasted.

The two modified beasts stopped immediately after Stuart spoke, showing no signs of the thoughts that humans might have, such as "I'm injured, I'm angry, so I must kill him" or "What if he doesn't stop even if I stop, so I can't stop either."

Reaching the two beasts, Stuart patted West's head, looked at the festering wounds on his body caused by the poisonous mist, and whispered...

"Well done, but next time don't attack rashly when the enemy's capabilities are unclear. If Karim wanted to, you would already be dead."

Then, Stuart turned to look at Karim, who was standing to the side, a hint of affection in his eyes. In the time it took Stuart to arrive, Karim's back injury had fully healed. He stood there coldly, and if it weren't for the blood splattered on his carapace, you would never have guessed that this scorpion had just gone through a fierce battle.

"Karim, you did very well this time. You had many opportunities to kill West, but because of my orders, you managed to suppress your bloodlust. The only mistake you made was being ambushed by West, which was also because of my orders. Otherwise, given your personality, you would have killed him directly. You are truly amazing."

Stuart knew perfectly well that the Karim Scorpion was originally a highly aggressive venomous creature, and during its modification, he had introduced the bloodlines of some bloodthirsty animals, making it even more ferocious. Under such rage, how difficult it was to suppress the urge to kill the enemy. This restraint was something even the loyal West couldn't achieve. West was more intelligent than Karim; if Karim could understand a command, there was no reason he couldn't. Yet, guided by the rage within his bloodline, he still chose an attack method aimed at killing Karim.

Anyone would greatly appreciate a subordinate who faithfully carries out their orders.

Stuart patted Karim's large claw, a smile playing on his lips.

"Next time I come back, I'll help you improve your intelligence."

Chapter Twenty-Three: Liar!

On the first day of school, all the students were immersed in the excitement of reuniting with friends after a long holiday. A joyful atmosphere enveloped the castle, and even the armor in the corridors seemed to shine brighter because of this joy. In stark contrast to the bustling castle was the desolate Forbidden Forest. On this day, no one should have left the warm castle to go to the cold and remote Forbidden Forest.

But a series of shallow footprints proved that not everyone thought so. Clearly, some people preferred the Forbidden Forest to the castle.

“Listen, West, I brought you here to help me hunt down some useful magical creatures. Yes, hunt, not kill, so keep your temper in check and don’t accidentally kill them. Compared to you now, most magical creatures seem quite weak. Now, listen carefully, your first task is to capture a unicorn. After you capture it, have Pippi come to me. Yes, Pippi will be with you.”

A small bird perched on Stuart's shoulder tilted its head back and let out a few cheerful chirps; clearly, it was the Pippi Stuart had mentioned. A closer look revealed that this seemingly ordinary bird didn't have normal bird eyes, but rather a dense cluster of tiny eyes. These eyes clearly didn't belong to any one animal. Some pupils dilated and contracted with changes in brightness as they moved, indicating they were clearly felines; others had vertical pupils, cold and indifferent, clearly the eyes of reptiles; and still others had sharp, ruthless eyes, clearly the eyes of birds of prey. Each of these tiny eyes looked in a different direction, constantly monitoring its surroundings.

After confirming that West could indeed become invisible, Stuart used a shrinking charm to bring him to Hogwarts. While everyone else waited for the Sorting Ceremony to begin, he made an excuse to slip away to the Forbidden Forest and placed West in this mysterious and somewhat dangerous wood. Pygmy was the partner he chose for West.

"Alright, now that the mission is over, let's talk about the things you need to be careful about. West, I brought you to Hogwarts because you can become invisible, so you must always remain invisible to avoid being discovered. Of course, if you are accidentally discovered, knock him out and have Patrick come to me. Remember, do not kill anyone, otherwise Dumbledore will definitely come to the Forbidden Forest to inspect it himself, and you won't be able to escape then. I don't want you to die here meaninglessly."

Suddenly, Papi flapped its wings and let out a warning cry; clearly, someone was approaching. Without Stuart's command, West first leaped onto a thick branch and then entered stealth mode, while Papi followed suit, flying up to a branch and disappearing among the twigs. Stuart frowned, looking back at the path they had come from, wondering why anyone would be in the Forbidden Forest today.

Although he didn't know who the person was, just to be on the safe side, he cast an Illusion Charm on himself to make himself invisible, and then a Levitation Charm to float into the air. Standing in the air, Stuart waited quietly, wanting to see who this person, who was just as unconventional as himself, was.

However, the person who arrived a moment later surprised him. The blonde girl was clearly the thick-skinned senior, Blanche. Although the person was an acquaintance, Stuart had no intention of going down to greet her warmly; he simply stood there waiting for her to leave.

Blanche followed the footprints to the Forbidden Forest, only to find that the footprints had vanished into thin air. Just ahead of these footprints were several deep canine tracks, their depth indicating that a large animal had once stood there. After circling these last few tracks a few times, Blanche stopped and looked up at the sky.

"I know you're there, my dear Stuart. If you still don't break the illusion spell, I'm going to unleash a barrage of bullets into the sky."

Stuart frowned, still suspended in mid-air. Although the Levitation Charm allowed him to float, it prevented him from moving. If Blanche were to cast the spell into the air, he would be nothing more than a target. Moreover, Blanche's tone gave him a dangerously familiar feeling. With this inexplicable sense of familiarity, Stuart dispelled the Disillusionment Charm and Levitation Charm, landing back on the ground.

Upon seeing Stuart appear, Blanche flashed a bright smile.

"Hey, my cute junior, long time no see! I wrote you so many letters during the holidays, but you didn't reply to a single one."

"I thought you would know that I had been studying potions all holiday and hadn't had time to read letters."

Without the slightest hesitation, Stuart blatantly lied through his teeth.

"So, now, senior, could you explain why you followed me? I don't think you'd just say it was on your way."

"Really? You're learning potions? Well, then there's nothing I can do about it."

Blanche lightly tapped her lower lip with her index finger, tilted her head as if she hadn't heard Stuart's question, and spoke softly.
