Su Mo tried to kick a small stone, but it was blocked by the light barrier.
"It looks like we can only wait for the results," Su Mo said to Tranton.
"If he's not one of ours, kill him immediately," Tranton coldly and ruthlessly issued the order.
Su Mo nodded. In fact, even if Tranton hadn't said anything, he would have done it anyway.
Arno, standing next to him, stretched his arms and legs. His tight clothes were almost torn, but thankfully they weren't real clothes, otherwise they would have been ruined long ago.
Su Mo, on the other hand, had already changed into a set of black clothes from this world, and looked somewhat like a butler.
As time passed, the light barrier began to disappear, and the figures inside could be vaguely seen.
"Hmm?" Arno asked in confusion.
As a demon, his eyesight was naturally much better than that of humans. While the scene in front of others was still blurry, he saw that there were eight figures in the light screen.
Seven of them were about the size of an adult, while the other looked like an eleven or twelve-year-old child.
"This is... it's actually this demon!"
Before the light screen had completely dissipated, Joyce suddenly shouted excitedly.
“What, this demon?” Tranton turned to look at Joyce, who was acting like he had an epileptic seizure.
"This demon is called the Seven Deadly Sins! It's clearly documented!"
Joyce said with great excitement, "He is a demon that once existed. Unlike ordinary demons, this demon would appear in seven human forms upon coming to the human world: pride, envy, wrath, sloth, greed, lust, and gluttony, each representing one of the seven original sins of mankind! He is the most terrifying demon!"
“How terrible?” Tranton looked at Joyce and frowned.
According to Joyce, the demon expert, the demon summoned this time will be much more powerful than his "Sebastian" and Arno.
“You must understand, the demons we see now are in human form, not their true form. Maintaining a human form diminishes their power. Once they unleash their true form, they are countless times more powerful than in human form,” Joyce said, staring intently at Transon. “And the Seven Deadly Sins demon is simply too powerful, so powerful that a human form is insufficient to contain its terrifying power. It must manifest in seven forms to barely disperse its power!”
Tranton's eyes narrowed, a sense of foreboding rising within him.
Is that demon called "Seven Sins" really that powerful?
Only by dividing his power into seven parts can he maintain a human form, so... his strength is at least seven times that of an ordinary demon, at least seven times that of Arno and Sebastian (Su Mo).
"Quickly! Sebastian..." Tranton immediately turned his head, wanting to give Su Mo an order.
However, the subsequent orders were not given. The place where Su Mo had been standing was now empty. By slightly shifting his gaze, Tranton saw Su Mo sitting on the "pile of people" with Arno standing next to him with a disdainful expression.
"Seven Sins? Are you sure these guys are incredibly powerful demons?" Su Mo jumped down from the pile of seven people stacked on top of each other, looking at the dumbfounded Joyce.
Just as Joyce suddenly became agitated and began to recount the power of the Seven Deadly Sins, Su Mo and Arno had already charged towards the demon that had been split into seven.
Neither Su Mo nor Arno could completely believe what Joyce said.
Whether this summoned special demon is as powerful as Joyce said remains to be seen; we'll have to try it out for ourselves to find out.
As for the result, Su Mo punched the guy in front, sending him flying and crashing into the three people behind him. Arno, on the other hand, spread his arms and "tied" the other three people together before throwing them out.
Before the four guys could even stand up and figure out what was going on, three more unlucky guys were added to their bodies.
The person at the bottom let out a scream of excruciating pain. The guy at the top tried to get up, but Su Mo, who jumped up, stomped hard on his back.
Then, as Su Mo sat down, the seven guys immediately became completely quiet.
Chapter Seventeen: Father
"Are you sure these guys are powerful?" Su Mo asked, looking at Joyce who had a blank expression.
In the brief exchange just now—or rather, the one-sided ravages—Su Mo had no idea how powerful the demon that had been split into seven was.
Su Mo and Arno beat them up effortlessly, as if they were dealing with ordinary people—they could easily defeat them.
For example, right now, just as Su Mo asked another question, the seven demons behind him, or the demons that split into seven, tried to get up, but were knocked down by Arno's punch.
Su Mo didn't really think this kind of demon was powerful.
"Well, I guess you guys are just too strong." Joyce rubbed her stiff cheeks, recovering from her shock.
The fact that those seven human-shaped demons were blasted down doesn't mean the opponent was weak; it might just be because the opponent was too strong.
"Moreover, even if you become powerful enough to defeat the Seven Deadly Sins, what good will it do?" Joyce said to Su Mo. "According to records, this demon is extremely arrogant, and may not even obey the orders of his master."
Upon hearing this, Tranton glared fiercely at Su Mo, who was the kind of disobedient "devil".
"Is that so?" Su Mo turned around.
"Shut up! Don't listen to him!"
Before Su Mo could speak, the guy at the top said, "As long as the daddies stop beating us, they are our second masters. We can do whatever they want."
"Huh?" Su Mo was taken aback for a moment, then turned to look at Joyce.
"..."
"..."
A brief, awkward silence followed.
Trent looked at Joyce, Arno looked at Joyce, Benson looked at Joyce, Mrs. Liz looked at Joyce, and even the legendary, powerful, and arrogant master of the Seven Deadly Sins looked at Joyce.
Unlike the others, this boy hoped that what Joyce said was true. After witnessing how powerful other people's demons were, the boy naturally hoped that his own demons would be just as powerful.
Facing the gazes of the crowd, Joyce's face flushed red and then turned pale. Overwhelmed with rage, she finally coughed up a mouthful of blood and collapsed to the ground.
His original vitality was lost in an instant, and his eyes became dull and lifeless, as if he had directly entered old age.
"What's wrong with him?" Tranton frowned.
"My values are shattered, my spiritual anchor is destroyed, I'm heartbroken and planning to commit suicide," Su Mo said.
In Joyce's mind, demons were mysterious, powerful, and evil creatures, fundamentally different from weak humans. Joyce also firmly believed that such creatures were the perfect beings, unlike humans who were cowardly and foolish.
The demon Joyce encountered at the beginning also matched his image of a demon.
The powerful Arno and the evil "Sebastian" filled Joyce with anticipation for demons.
Just when he was reaching his peak of anticipation, thinking he had met the legendary super-powerful demon, the demon called Seven Sins fully demonstrated what it means to be "shameless," slapping Joyce across the face and instantly destroying Joyce's spiritual sustenance.
The impact was no less than discovering your girlfriend is actually a man. In fact, Joyce's ability not to faint on the spot shows she had a pretty good mental fortitude.
Ignoring Joyce, who had lost the ability to love, Su Mo turned his attention back to the seven people in front of him.
"Are you the same person, uh, the same demon?" Su Mo asked. Arno, standing beside him, also seemed very interested.
The true forms of demons are diverse. Just as Sumoanos do not know what the other's true form is, they cannot possibly determine what kind of demon the Seven Deadly Sins are before them.
"We are the same demons, Father." Just as he said, the Seven Sins had no morals. Without any hesitation, the seven of them said in unison.
The Heart-Shaped Demon is a type of demon in hell. This demon is born with several bodies, all of which share vision and memory. The bodies can merge and separate.
You can say they are the same individual, or you can say they are different individuals.
Even among demons, they are quite unique.
The Heart Demon race is considered low-level in combat power in Hell. Even if they were summoned to this world, they would be at their limit dealing with two or three ordinary people. Against Su Mo and Arno, they would be as weak and powerless as chicks.
"They'd be good for reconnaissance." Su Mo looked at the seven faces that were somewhat similar but not exactly the same, faces that would be completely indistinguishable in a crowd.
He waved his hand, signaling the seven guys to move aside, and then turned to look at Tranton.
Tranton walked up to the boy who had been forgotten since the beginning and asked, "Would you like to join us, follow in our footsteps, and let the people behind this island experience the pain we have gone through?"
“I, Martin, abandoned my life long ago when I chose revenge, Master Worbus.” The young man named Martin lowered his head and turned slightly to Seven Sins beside him, saying, “Master Worbus’s orders are the same as my orders.”
“Yes, my master!” Seven Sins nodded repeatedly.
"You're very good." Tranton nodded in satisfaction.
It's worth noting that even Benson hadn't given Arnold that order, so Martin's words were a clear indication of his absolute submission.
Of course, this is also related to demons.
Seeing Seven Sins's cowardly behavior, Martin knew that he was better off relying on Tranton than on Seven Sins.
This young master, who is about the same age as me, is a nobleman, and the demon by my side is so powerful that I must rely on his power to take revenge.
Martin wouldn't have made this choice if he had summoned a more powerful demon. Moreover, even if Martin were willing, that more powerful demon probably wouldn't want to be commanded by an unrelated person.
While the power of the contract is strong, it's not so exaggerated that the demon can simply die at the master's command. During the contract period, the demon is essentially a loyal dog, but even loyal dogs can occasionally get angry and resist commands.
Once the demon becomes passive and uncooperative, the master doesn't have many good options.
The power of a contract is merely a guarantee, not a forceful intervention.
Of course, since fulfilling the contract is crucial to ultimately devouring that delicious soul, demons usually work quite hard and as quickly as possible to complete the contract. Conversely, the master might occasionally delay appropriately, at least allowing themselves to live a little longer.
"Young Master Worbus, what should we do next?" Seeing Martin's performance, Benson, who was standing next to him, also realized that there was a crisis and quickly spoke up to show his presence.
This made Su Mo realize that life-threatening situations can indeed make people grow up quickly.
On Earth, boys of this age are basically the most troublesome creatures in the world; they have the ability to act, the power to cause destruction, and the need for laws protecting minors.
Compared to Benson and Martin, the more composed and dignified Tranton spoke up: "Now, we just have to wait."
"Wait for what?" Martin asked, somewhat puzzled.
"Wait for the ship." Tranton said solemnly. "The real key is after the ship docks. If we can't seize the ship, then our revenge will just be a ridiculous joke."
"We will succeed, young master Worbus!"
A few days later, at dusk, two ships loaded with supplies needed by the island and some "offerings" approached the island's port.
On the torch-lit dock, Mrs. Liz pressed down on her hood to prevent the strong sea wind from blowing it off.
Standing next to him were Arno and Su Mo.
It was clear that Mrs. Liz was positioned closer to Su Mo. Arno's gaze kept sweeping over her, making her tremble.
With things having progressed this far, and with Joyce's death yesterday, Benson's wish could essentially be considered fulfilled. Only Mrs. Liz remained, and even that one person wouldn't be a major threat. If Benson relaxed his guard even slightly, his wish could be accomplished without killing her.
However, Benson's mindset has changed. Now he not only wants to kill the people on the island, but also wants revenge and to return to the British Empire to enjoy life.
Under these circumstances, the contract remained unfulfilled.
Arno showed no dissatisfaction with this, and even told Su Mo that Benson's soul would taste better if it were tainted with something else.
However, Mrs. Liz, as the "last piece of the puzzle" and the "last straw," will not have an easy time. Every time Arno looks at her, he feels as if he has been placed on the guillotine, with the knife above his head ready to fall at any moment.
Under these circumstances, she would rather stay closer to another demon called "Sebastian." At least he wouldn't kill her on a whim.
