What's it like to be stronger than Saitama?

Description: It can attack enemies by emitting sharp cries. Its skin is exceptionally tough, making it difficult for ordinary attacks to penetrate. It enjoys devouring human souls and is a very terrifying beast.

Rating: Grade A

It takes at least three A-level or higher heroes to defeat an A-level beast, but on Bright Moon Street at this moment, there is only one B-level hero struggling to hold on.

Yang Xi recognized this hero; he was "Qinglan," a B-class hero from Cherry Company, whose special ability was wind manipulation.

However, with only a B-rank rank, she was powerless against this enormous beast, and the tornado she had painstakingly created was shattered by the beast's claw!

Her situation was extremely critical, but for the sake of the citizens who were still evacuating behind her, this mature and heroic woman in a light blue cheongsam had no intention of retreating!

082 Crisis

"Damn it! The Soul-Eating Rat is too cunning!"

Qinglan stepped on two small whirlwinds, constantly dodging the sonic attacks of the Soul-Eating Rat.

However, the sonic wave that Qinglan dodged accurately hit the residential building, and some unfortunate citizens were completely destroyed in the explosion.

Those who were luckier were also trapped in a desperate situation with nowhere to retreat—because the door leading to the evacuation passage was blown away by the sound waves. If they wanted to enter the passage, these citizens would have to risk falling from a great height and jump to the other side!

"Squeaky!!!"

The Soul-Eating Rat's eyes darted around, seemingly mocking the B-rank hero Qinglan's predicament.

On the live stream screen, the two commentators, Hat King and Coach Ge, were already in place.

Coach Ge shook his head and sighed, "...If no other heroes come to our aid, the number of civilian casualties will probably reach a very terrible figure."

The Hat King nodded. "Indeed, when these A-level alien beasts appear in densely populated residential areas, it often puts heroes in a dilemma. Some heroes with insufficient defense are simply unable to protect the people behind them from the alien beast's attacks."

Instructor Ge, with his seasoned experience, pointed out Qinglan's current predicament: "There's nothing we can do about it. Qinglan is an elemental hero. If she were to directly confront the Soul-Eating Rat's attack, she would probably be seriously injured in a few hits. Without her restraint, this beast will cause a lot of destruction in a short time. Strategically abandoning these unfortunate citizens is also to avoid even greater casualties."

Just as Coach Ge was lamenting the fate of these unlucky guys, a fiery red figure drew an arc in the air and came to a steady stop beside Qinglan.

It was Yan Die, a female hero from the same hero agency as Qing Lan.

Although Yan Die's hero level is lower than Qing Lan's, her popularity far surpasses Qing Lan's. In addition to her cute appearance, Yan Die's adorable and lively personality has also won her countless fans.

Qinglan's somewhat aloof personality has kept her popularity lukewarm.

The live stream chat exploded with comments.

"Oh my god! This is an A-level disaster, only B-level heroes can be of use. What are you doing here, little cutie Flame Butterfly? Get out of here right now!"

"Yeah, don't pay attention to those haters. You're still young. Wait until you become a B-rank hero before you come out and fight alongside Sister Qinglan, okay?"

"Protect our adorable Flame Butterfly! Send gifts now!"

Qinglan pulled Yandie to avoid a sonic wave circle from a Soul-Eating Rat. Behind them, the outer wall of a residential building was damaged. Fortunately, the citizens here seemed to have been evacuated, and no further tragedy occurred.

Qinglan condensed a blue whirlwind in an attempt to attack the beast's eyes, but it was blocked by the Soul-Devouring Rat's hard claws.

"Oh!"

The cyan whirlwind exploded on the Soul-Eating Rat's paw, only damaging some of the fur and skin on its claws.

"squeak!"

However, this only seemed to anger the beast, which screamed again, the extremely loud sound making everything around it tremble.

A pebble fell from the sky, narrowly missing Qinglan's phoenix eyes.

"What are you doing here? C-rank heroes are just cannon fodder in front of the Soul-Eating Rat!"

Yan Die said somewhat flusteredly, "I...I...I was nearby. I saw Senior Qinglan struggling, so I wanted to come and help."

Qinglan released another whirlwind in an attempt to neutralize the Soul-Eating Rat's sonic ring, but in the end, it only consumed a small portion of the sonic ring's power.

The interfered sonic coil exploded on the building, and the apartment building in Mingyue Community was like a piece of a cookie that had been bitten off in the middle.

The exposed location was the stairwell leading from the sixth floor to the fifth floor of the apartment building. Half of the staircase was destroyed, and two unfortunate people died directly in the explosion, leaving behind only three adult women and a five or six-year-old girl.

It was Lin Naixue and her group; coincidentally, they were all at the apartment today.

Pan Yuanyuan had no classes today, while Ding Lan finished her classes early and picked up her son from kindergarten after he wet his pants.

The four women were still in shock when the explosion occurred just one meter away from them. The two male tenants from the same building who had forcefully pushed them out of their way were also killed along with the stairs because they were in a hurry to get downstairs.

As for the stairs beneath Ding Lan and the others, only three steps remained, still connected to the steel bars!

They were still three meters away from the staircase leading to the ground.

"Sister Ding, what do we do... Waaaaah!"

Pan Yuanyuan, the second youngest and the least well-mannered among the three adults, immediately burst into tears.

Ding Lan was also filled with despair, but looking at Bao'er in her arms, who was bravely holding back her tears, she glanced in the direction of the alien beast and said, "Let's go up the stairs, jump across the rooftop to the apartment building opposite, and then go down the stairs in the next building. We can't go this way; the three-meter drop is too high. If we twist our ankles, we won't be able to escape into the shelter!"

Lin Naixue agreed, "Sister Ding, let's hurry up and go up!"

As she spoke, she took Pan Yuanyuan's hand and started to walk upstairs.

But at that moment, the entire apartment building suddenly shook, and Pan Yuanyuan, who lost her balance, fell down the broken staircase!

Pan Yuanyuan's entire body was suspended in the air. Two meters below her feet, which were wearing pink sneakers, were steel bars that had broken and twisted together due to the explosion. If she fell, she would definitely be skewered like meat!

Fortunately, although Lin Naixue was dragged down onto the stairs, she still held firmly to Pan Yuanyuan's hand.

Yellow liquid dripped down Pan Yuanyuan's light blue jeans, soaking her white rabbit socks, and fell drop by drop.

She gripped Lin Naixue's hand tightly, completely breaking down, "Help me! Sister Naixue! I don't want to die! I don't want to die!!!"

As she struggled, Lin Naixue's body slid an inch off the railing. If she hadn't quickly hooked her legs firmly onto the railing, she might have fallen down with Pan Yuanyuan!

Seeing this, Ding Lan decisively put Bao'er down, grabbed Lin Naixue's hand, and tried to pull Pan Yuanyuan up.

"Yuanyuan! Calm down, we'll pull you up right away!!!"

"Waaaaah!!! Please, please save me!!! I don't want to die..."

"Sister Ding, let's count to three, then pull together and lift Yuanyuan up!"

Even Bao'er, who was only the size of a radish, grabbed Lin Naixue's body from behind, trying to help her sister and mother pull Yuanyuan up.

She wiped away her tears with her chubby little hands, and although she was terrified, she dared not cry out loud.

Because her mother had taught her that she should never cry, especially in situations like this.

The little girl choked up, "Mommy, sister... keep going... Bao'er is with you."

"one two three!"

The two of them tried their best, but still couldn't pull Pan Yuanyuan up.

As the half-finished staircase began to sway precariously, a deep despair welled up in Pan Yuanyuan's eyes...

083 Rabbit

Pan Yuanyuan sniffed, as if she had made a difficult decision.

Suddenly, she raised her head and said to Lin Naixue and Ding Lan, who were holding her tightly, "Sister Naixue, Sister Ding, I'm so grateful for your care these past few days. It's my good fortune to have met you!"

Pan Yuanyuan burst into tears, "Let go... Waaah... I can't let myself drag everyone down!"

"Sister Ding still has Bao'er to raise, and Sister Nai Xue is dating Brother Yang, isn't she..."

As she spoke, Pan Yuanyuan loosened her grip slightly, and Lin Naixue quickly grabbed Pan Yuanyuan tightly.

"Fool, what are you thinking? We will never abandon you! Hold on!"

But Pan Yuanyuan's hand still slowly slipped out of Lin Naixue's palm.

"No! No!!!"

Amidst Ding Lan and Lin Naixue's cries, Pan Yuanyuan finally fell!

"Whoosh!"

The fiery red figure caught the schoolgirl at the last second, and after turning in the air, placed her on the stairs to the next floor.

"Citizens who have unfortunately been caught in the battle, please don't be afraid! Cherry Broker's C-rank hero 'Flame Butterfly' is here to save you! (^_?)☆!"

Flame Butterfly's energetic pose ignited the chat room's comments.

"Waaaaah! It's that wink!!! I'm going to die!! My adorable Flame Butterfly!!! Come save me!!!"

"Oh my god!!! I never thought I, a girl, could resist the charm of Flame Butterfly! Butterfly!! Mommy loves you!!!"

"Everyone, send some gifts! Let other fans know how awesome 'Flame Alliance' is! Let's aim for a small goal today!"

The Hat King was overjoyed as he watched the gift revenue soar on the live streaming platform, but because many citizens had been injured or killed, he had to do his best to maintain a slightly sad expression.

"Ahem, although it is not recommended for heroes below B rank to intervene in A-rank disaster events on the front lines, it does not mean that C-rank heroes cannot play a role. Rescuing citizens like Yan Die can also reduce the burden on the heroes on the front lines."

"I...I'm not dead?"

Pan Yuanyuan was a little dizzy as she got up from the ground.

"You're not dead! Hurry up and head to the shelter!"

Yan Die comforted Pan Yuanyuan, then flapped her fiery wings and carried Lin Naixue and the other two down one by one.

Seeing the four of them hugging and crying, Yan Die's eyes also reddened with emotion.

"Alright, you guys hurry up and get to a safe place, it's too dangerous here..."

"Get out of the way, you idiot!!!!"

Qinglan shouted a warning in a panic.

It turns out that this A-rank Soul-Eating Rat has emitted another sonic wave in this direction!

Qinglan unleashed a whirlwind in an attempt to deflect the trajectory of the sound wave, but the cunning beast anticipated it and dispersed the cyan whirlwind with its tail!

"Squeak!"

The Soul-Eating Rat squealed with delight. It loved killing those struggling ants and slowly savoring their terrified souls.

The Flame Butterfly only had time to spread its fiery wings into a huge barrier to withstand the sonic wave attack!

The collision between the sonic coil and the flame barrier created a massive explosion that resembled a fiery lotus blooming outwards.

The live-streaming drone, which was originally positioned nearby to film the interaction between Yan Die and the rescued citizens, was affected by the blast and crashed to the ground amidst black smoke, breaking into pieces.

The last shot of this close-up aircraft is also the scene of Flame Butterfly being blown away by the aftershocks of the explosion.

After a period of static, the live stream switched to another camera, but the chat became quiet.
