"The Sabaody Archipelago?"
"Yes!"
Maggie nodded and said, "They have the technology to coat ships, which allows them to sail safely at sea. It's a route that all pirate ships wanting to go to the New World must take, and it's also a route that all pirates must take. Otherwise, they can only find a way to get through from other places."
"Then it's decided!" Luffy replied, clapping his hands together upon hearing Maple's strength.
"Then brothers, let's head to the Sabaody Archipelago! Nami, navigator!"
"Yes!"
Chapter 158 The Self-Repairing Red Line Continent!!
"Salted fish cuts off the sky!"
"Boom!" A deafening sound rang out from the cliff beside the ship as it sailed along the red earth continent.
"Damn it, what are you doing?!" Nami, who was at the bow of the ship watching the pointer turn to adjust the course, was furious when she heard the explosion and turned around to yell.
"Huh?" Mabi, who had just sheathed her longsword, turned around with a puzzled look on her face.
"Are you talking about me? Let me see why no one on the Red Line has tried to dig a tunnel. After all, although the Grand Line has a harsh environment, the seas are still very peaceful. It's surprising that no one has thought of breaking through the Red Line to make communication."
"I've been wondering why, for thousands of years, no one or organization has ever thought of opening up the Red Line to connect the four seas. Even the Navy, which has controlled the four seas and the Grand Line for hundreds of years, has never tried to dig a tunnel, but only built elevators to cross the mountains. What is this? I'm very curious, so I cut it down!"
Luffy, who was crouching on the railing, burst into laughter after hearing Maggie's words and stretched out his arms to charge forward.
"Haha! I see! I'll give it a try too! Rubber rocket launcher!"
Zoro pushed the hilt of his sword with his finger and laughed!
"Demolish the mountain! A pretty good target! Not afraid of being destroyed! A thousand troubles, phoenix!"
Mia even assumed a lunge position, holding up her beige dress and pointing her finger at the tip of her sword, aiming it directly at the spot where it had been bombarded.
"I'm also very curious why no one has breached such a tall continent, and why we have to go around it from above or below! Starfall!"
"Frankie Air Cannon!"
"Strength Enhancement! Cherry Blossom Hoof Slash!"
"Laser cannon!"
"Flaming Skewers!"
"Iron Cloud Spear!"
"One hundred million Ford Levins!"
Dust flew everywhere, and everyone's playful spirit was aroused. They swung their arms and struck the surface, unleashing their unique long-range bombardment.
Various explosions rang out incessantly, and red dust flew everywhere, falling into the ocean and turning the azure sea into a red swamp. The seawater below churned and washed over the area, and a sea king with a rabbit-shaped head and a mouth full of fangs emerged from the water with its eyes rolled back amidst these terrifying fluctuations.
Looking at the huge opening in front of them, everyone was extremely satisfied. The energy that had not been released during this period was finally released completely on the Red Earth Continent. It wouldn't be a problem to keep applying pressure!
"Cough cough! Cough cough! You bunch of bastards!" Nami said helplessly, coughing repeatedly from the flying dust, and went to the bathroom to clean the mud off her body.
"Hahaha! There's a surprise! Today's food is sorted!" Luffy exclaimed as he pulled his arm back.
"Hey! Sanji, Jack, help me drag this upstairs and roast it!"
"Hold on!"
"Mabi, did you find anything?" Robin stepped forward and asked softly after the smoke cleared.
“No!” Mabi stroked her chin and pondered as she looked at the giant hole in front of her, which was hundreds of meters in diameter and bottomless.
"At this rate, even disregarding the possibility of collapses and the need to transport soil, it wouldn't take us many days to break through this!"
"Hey! Hey! Where are you looking?" Usopp shouted, waving his arms as he adjusted the binoculars on his head out of boredom.
"What do you see?" the crowd asked in unison, gazing at their masterpiece in the distance.
"Bones! Huge skeletons! Countless skeletons!" As he continued to adjust his portable binoculars, even more things hidden within the Red Earth came into view.
"Really? Let me see!" Maby casually took out a pair of binoculars and looked over, but only found reddish-brown rocks and no other objects.
"Huh! It's gone? Am I seeing things? I clearly saw huge skeletal joints just now!" Usopp looked again but found that there was only soil left and the bones he had seen before had all disappeared.
"What we really saw was probably the skeleton of a sea monster that was buried sometime in the past! And then covered by collapsed rocks!" Mabi explained for him. In her own time, it wasn't common to find fossilized bones in the mountains. Those dinosaurs were only a few tens of meters long, but this world had giant sea monsters that were thousands or even tens of thousands of meters long. It was indeed possible that they were bound in the soil and turned into fossils.
“Perhaps!” Usopp said.
"Brother Mabi! I feel like this hole is smaller than usual!" Apis tugged at Mabi's sleeve and reminded him.
"Too small?"
“It is indeed too small! Jack’s Iron Cloud Spear just hit the cave entrance directly, causing a large amount of soil to collapse. Now it’s just left on the rocks.” Maby looked up at the white spear towering in the distance.
"Hummingbird!" Mabi once again hurled two iron rods, each about the thickness of a finger, directly hitting the edge of the distant cave entrance, creating two small, round craters. Looking further down, the two small craters were receding from the huge cave, and the group of people who saw this immediately understood the reason.
"The horror can actually be repaired! No wonder no one stayed away from digging through it!"
"Could it be the power of a demon repairing things?" Mia reminded her. Having already seen the true nature of Devil Fruits, Mia naturally understood that some demons lived in this world and could assimilate and arbitrarily change their surroundings.
"Who knows?" Mabi replied, resting her chin on her hand.
After leaving that small world, Mabi felt that this world was extremely terrifying. Spatial rifts were everywhere, and once you entered, you would be trapped inside and could only wait to die.
These are colossal beasts that spew energy fluctuations, possessing technology hundreds of years ahead of our time, and the ability to open spaces. The shattering of each small world has placed the entire island back on the Grand Line, and the seasonal fluctuations carried by each island have naturally become unique characteristics of their respective locations.
Based on my long adventures, if I'm not mistaken, the islands in the new world, filled with lightning, fire, swamps, ice, and magnetism, are unique to each of these smaller worlds. The reappearance of this world for various reasons has also created unique laws for each island, altering the surrounding environment and leading to numerous dangers.
So it's not unusual for the Red Line, which encircles the entire world, to possess self-repairing capabilities. The skeletons Usopp mentioned might be from a Sea King that entered a deep hole that had been opened, and before it could leave, it was engulfed by this force and turned into fossils.
“This power is probably unique to the Red Line, which is why no one has dug into it. Or perhaps it was sealed away like that demon before, its energy extracted over eight hundred years, turning it into a zombie. Maybe this continent has imprisoned countless demons, giving it the ability to self-repair,” Maggie explained with a smile, turning to look at Robin.
"Robin! You've translated so many of the documents we've unearthed, do you know anything about these reasons?"
Robin shook his head and said what he already knew.
"I don't know! It only records how to use some tools and how to utilize these strange items, just like ordinary steel is used for everyday tools. It doesn't explain their place in this world."
"They didn't come up with any ideas about demons or anything like that. It's as if demons were to them what sea kings are to us—food, or as material to people at that time."
"This is really a headache. There are countless small spatial worlds everywhere, and now there's the self-repairing Red Earth Continent! What on earth has happened to this world?"
"Hehe! Then don't think about it! The truth is for exploration, and we'll naturally understand in the future!" Robin chuckled, turned around, and slowly walked down the stairs.
"Yes! I was being presumptuous!" Maggie laughed helplessly after Robin reminded her that she had gotten stuck in a rut.
"Mabi, don't think so much! I've waited for eight hundred years, a few more years won't matter. Some things we want to know will eventually come to us." Nielko's illusory soul rushed out from inside the arm guard to persuade her.
"Well, it seems we can only take it one step at a time!" Mabi smiled and stopped caring. Seeing that the Red Earth Continent was being repaired, they didn't seem to care as much as she did, as if it were perfectly normal. For them, strange things were indeed a part of this world, just rare and something they hadn't known about before.
But for someone like me who has completely shattered my own expectations of the original work, this is quite incredible.
"Haha! Haha! The mermaid is actually a beautiful mermaid lady!" Mabi was about to turn and head towards the stairs when she heard the commotion below. A girl with light green hair was excitedly surrounded by onlookers, while a gray-white starfish lay silently on the railing beside her. The sea king that had just fainted was being gutted by Zoro to be used as food.
"They've come after all!" Mabi shook her head as she looked at the two familiar figures. No matter how big the wings are, they can't withstand the world's return to the original path.
"Hey! Mami isn't a mermaid like Kokoro at all!" Luffy pointed at her and laughed loudly.
"Yes, I see it!"
Mabi smiled and replied, looking at the people below who were laughing hysterically.
"Grandma Kokoro is over fifty years old, and her body has started to lose its shape! She is naturally no match for the cute mermaid girl. I believe that Grandma Kokoro was no different from the mermaid girl in front of us when she was young."
"Uh! You mean Camie will end up just like Kokoro in the future!" Sanji roared at Maggie, his eyes blazing with fury.
"Yeah! That's true, didn't you know? Mermaids start to lose their figure after they turn thirty." As if oblivious to the increasingly gloomy faces around her, Maggie's bombshell revelation was enough to leave a lasting impression on everyone, with one fat and one thin figure in Laishui.
"You pervert! I kicked you and you ruined my idea of mermaids!" In a fit of rage, Sanji kicked at Mabi.
"Haha! Haha! I despise you bunch of bastards who judge by appearances!" Mabi laughed as she saw Sanji kicking her, shifting her body back and forth to dodge Sanji's kick.
"Oh my! What's wrong with him?" Camie asked, seeing Sanji's anger, his fishtail coiled up, and him lying on his side.
"Those two have gone crazy!" Nami waved her hand and explained to her.
"Kemi, the takoyaki you mentioned you'd treat me to is Hachi? That name sounds familiar."
"Yes! His takoyaki is delicious. I'm currently helping him as a waiter. I was late today and didn't expect to be eaten by this fish. Thank you so much," Kemi said with a smile.
"I'll definitely make you takoyaki when I find him!"
"Yay! Yay! Takoyaki! My favorite!" Luffy's mouth watered at the mention of food.
“No problem! Eat as much as you want! I’ll take care of it all,” Kemi said confidently, patting her collar.
"Bru bru! Bru bru!" Two muffled thuds sounded from the collar.
"Huh, is Hachi's Den Den Mushi calling?" Camie asked, looking at the familiar Den Den Mushi.
"Haha! Kemi! Hachi is in our hands now! We don't want him to be turned into takoyaki. Come and save him as soon as possible! Haha! Haha!"
"Hey! Hachi's been kidnapped!" Cammy's eyes widened and she shouted as she heard the voice coming from the Den Den Mushi.
Chapter 159 Their Own Grudges!
"Hmm! The voice sounds familiar! It really is him!" Mabi stood with her arms crossed in front of the railing, nodding as she looked at the dark figure in the cage in the distance.
Zoro nodded in agreement: "Eight legs and a familiar voice—it can't be him!"
"Hey! Hachi! Is Arlong alright?" Sanji called out, putting one hand in front of his mouth.
"Brother A-Long? You broke his arms and legs and threw him into the sea. He was later captured by the navy. I managed to escape and come back here!"
"Look! It's him, there's no escaping it!"
“You should handle Nami!” Usopp replied, resting his chin on his hand.
"Miss Nami! Would you like octopus soup or grilled octopus? I'd be happy to oblige!"
"Hey! Who is this Arlong you guys are talking about?" Luffy asked, looking at his companions who all seemed familiar to him.
"Just a minor enemy!" Nami pressed his head down to stop him from speaking again.
"Huh! Aren't you friends with Xiao Ba?" Kemi, standing to the side, exclaimed with wide eyes and an open mouth.
