“Here.” Hermione stood up and waved to Ivy.
Ivy walked into the lounge holding a small red and white ball and quickly came to Ron's side. "I'm sorry, Ron, we may not be able to return your pet to you."
"It's okay." Ron gave an awkward laugh, thinking to himself, "Even if you gave it back to me, I wouldn't dare take it." The thought of sleeping in the same bed with Peter Pettigrew all the time made Ron feel a little disgusted for no reason.
"But I have good news. Teacher Leona got you a pet from our area and asked me to give it to you as compensation." Ivy held out her hand, revealing a small red and white ball.
"A ball?" Ron asked, somewhat puzzled.
"This is a Poké Ball, used to provide a comfortable home for your Pokémon." Ivy said, pressing a button. The Poké Ball instantly expanded several times its original size. "Teacher Leona said you'll definitely like the Pokémon she chose. Open it and take a look."
Ron took the Poké Ball and, under Ivy's guidance, carefully pressed the switch. With a snap, the Poké Ball opened, revealing a Pokémon that looked like a small yellow mouse, with a lightning bolt-shaped tail.
"This is Pikachu, in its juvenile form, so you have plenty of time to build a bond with it, but be careful, it can generate electricity."
Before Ivy could finish speaking, Ron poked Pikachu's tail with his finger. Startled awake, Pikachu instinctively retaliated, sending a jolt of electricity directly into Ron's body, making him feel numb all over. Fortunately, the baby Pikachu had very low battery, and Ron only felt numb for a moment.
After discharging electricity, Pikachu's cheeks flushed slightly, making it incredibly cute and attracting the attention of all the wizards nearby.
Hermione and Ivy were pushed out by the crowd.
The two looked at each other and laughed.
"This is the instruction manual for feeding Pikachu. Please give it to Ron later," Ivy said, handing a book to Hermione.
“No problem. By the way, how do I adopt this pet? Do I need to sign a form?” Hermione asked curiously.
Sure enough, no one can resist the charm of the little yellow mouse.
Chapter 331 We Are the Most Synchronized Twins—The Weasley Twins
"Have you heard? Ron is really popular with girls now. Wherever he goes, he's always surrounded by a bunch of girls."
Inside the public restroom, Fred spoke while wiping the toilet, his tone filled with envy.
"Yeah, what a bunch of shallow girls. They all betrayed us just because of a cute pet." George's tone was sour, as if he had eaten a lot of lemons in one go, and his breath sounded like adult vinegar.
"I think that when we open our store in the future, the toys we design must be both cute and fun, so that a lot of girls will come to the store to play." Fred imagined the future, and seemed to see beautiful women surrounding him, a knowing smile appearing on his face.
“But we haven’t saved enough money yet.” After a few seconds of daydreaming, George abruptly brought his fantasy back to reality.
Fred fell silent. Taking over a shop in Diagon Alley and opening the Weasley Theatre would require a lot of start-up capital. Even if the two of them could handle the staff, the remaining estimated costs would still be a considerable sum.
As for finances, his parents certainly couldn't help much. There were too many children in the family. Percy was about to graduate and needed money to get through the period before he started working, while Ron and Ginny wouldn't graduate for a long time, and their expenses at school would have to be covered by their parents.
By the time Fred and George graduate, their family will probably still be struggling financially, and they might have to rely on them and Percy to help support the household. Where will they get the money to open a shop?
"If only I could get paid to clean toilets, I'd be willing to clean them all day for a gallon." George's men worked even harder, as if Filch had ripped them off.
Of course, that's impossible. Cleaning toilets is a form of solitary confinement. If you paid for it, wouldn't that encourage students to cause trouble? That's impossible.
"You two stop, someone's looking for you." Filch suddenly pushed open the bathroom door and said to Fred and George with his head down.
Fred and George exchanged a glance. Something was wrong; there was a trap. Filch wouldn't treat them so kindly, without even a hint of sarcasm or disdain. Could this guy be under a death curse?!
But who would cast an Unforgivable Curse on a Squib who's just a doorman at Hogwarts?!
Just as the Weasley twins were lost in thought, Leona poked her head in and said, "Hi, are you free? Come with me to the teachers' office."
“But we’re in lockdown,” George said suddenly, giving Fred a wink.
The twins' unspoken understanding immediately surfaced. Fred spread his hands, looking like a good student following school rules. "Yes, Ms. Leona, could you wait a moment? Our detention today won't be over for a while."
Leona looked down at Filch, who reluctantly looked up from the book. The book described a method for mobilizing the dormant energy within the body, similar to using runes. It was a preschool book from Hogwarts, Leona's school, but for Filch, it was hope—his hope for using magic.
“Your confinement has been lifted,” Filch said.
George was instantly shocked. Good heavens, Filch had lifted the students' confinement! This was the first time in history! Even when Professor McGonagall sought out Filch for Quidditch training, she only postponed the confinement of the Gryffindor Quidditch members. Of course, that was because McGonagall wouldn't ask for the confinement to be lifted; if you did something wrong, you had to be punished.
“Quickly thank Professor Filch,” Leona reminded her.
Filch suddenly became awkward and embarrassed. "Teacher Leona, you're too kind. I'm not worthy of being called a teacher."
Fred and George exchanged a glance, their true colors revealed. They threw the rags on the counter, hurriedly rinsed their hands, and ran out of the bathroom one after the other.
Once outside, the Weasley twins saw Filch leaning against Leona, eagerly asking her questions.
"Mr. Filch, I have something to do right now, can you take care of things on your own for now?" Leona said quickly, relieved to see the Weasley twins come out.
“But there are many terms here that I don’t understand.” Filch said, feeling a little aggrieved. He could understand the problem, but he was really helpless because of the different terms. This was a difference between worlds.
"I recommend someone to you, Ivy. She's known as a walking library. You can ask her for most vocabulary problems. If it's a problem with understanding or practice, you can ask Kevin. He's studied many books and has a deep understanding of them. If neither of them can solve it, then stay here for now. When Merlin is free, I'll introduce you to him."
Leona quickly offered her advice, and before Filch could reply, she waved and led the Weasley twins away.
Actually, Leona didn't dislike Filch; rather, she figured if Filch kept asking questions, she wouldn't be able to answer them.
Having worked as a gatekeeper at Hogwarts for so long, Filch, despite being a Squib and unable to use any magic, has accumulated quite a bit of theoretical knowledge, at least better than Lockhart, and of course, better than Leona.
Leona has only been born for a short time and hasn't read any books yet. You could say that, without considering any pre-existing memories, Leona is illiterate.
After leaving Filch's side, the Weasley twins became even more active.
"Teacher Leona, what can I do for you? Are you here to give us a pet too?" George asked Leona with great anticipation.
"Pets? You mean Pikachu?" Leona realized what was going on. "That's a Pokémon from our Forbidden Forest. Pikachu's parents had an accident, so it was only allowed to be kept in captivity. You can forget about it."
"Is there really no chance at all?" Fred asked immediately, also wanting to be welcomed by a large group of girls like Ron. "We only need one for the two of us."
Leona pondered for a moment, "If this experiment is successful, perhaps I can apply for it for you."
"Experiment? What experiment?"
“We need to find out where Dumbledore went in the future. We’ve tested many teachers, but the results haven’t been good. Professor McGonagall said you two are the most compatible twins, like one person, so we’d like to ask you to come and give it a try,” Leona explained.
George and Fred exchanged a glance and laughed together. "Hey, maybe we can see our future magic show right now. That would be a very rare experience."
Chapter 332 From that day on, every mirror was the Mirror of Erised to him.
In the faculty office, Weasley slightly toned down his impetuous nature after seeing a large group of professors.
Soon, with the help of Leona and Merlin, the Weasley twins put on the devices, and the spells began to work normally.
True farewells never happen at the pavilion or along the ancient road; it's just that one day you suddenly realize he's left in the past and will never come back.
After the device started working, a difficult-to-understand sentence suddenly popped into George's mind, and then a vision of the future gradually appeared before everyone.
"The image is very clear, it seems to be finally having some effect," Merlin said with a sigh of relief.
In the picture, George, who looks a little older than he does now, walks down Diagon Alley with a blank expression, as if he is carrying something heavy on his mind.
"Could it be that our magic show has gone out of business?" Fred said to George, sounding a little nervous.
"Probably not..." George also became nervous.
Just then, the scene slowly shifted, and everyone saw the other half of George's face from the future, missing an ear.
For a moment, neither George nor Fred spoke; they seemed to feel an indescribable sadness.
Ding-a-ling! Future George arrived at the Weasley Studios, took a deep breath, put on a smile, and then reached out to open the door and went inside.
Upon entering, George saw a large floor-to-ceiling mirror. His friends and family had suggested moving it, but George hadn't been able to make up his mind.
Good morning, Fred.
George stood in front of the mirror, forcing a "bright" smile, and said loudly, "Today is our birthday, remember? I prepared a lot of fireworks, enough to make one person tired."
"You'll come to help me, right? When it comes to setting off fireworks, nobody knows more than us."
After he finished speaking, George stood facing the mirror for a long time without moving, as if waiting for his reflection to say something.
After a long while, seemingly resigned to his fate, George picked up a piece of cloth next to the mirror and carefully hung it on the mirror. "Fred, sorry, I have to go open the shop. Talk to you later."
After covering the mirror, George took a deep breath, walked to the calendar in the store, tore off a page, and threw it into the trash can next to it.
The calendar clearly shows "today": April 1st, April Fool's Day, and also the Weasley twins' birthday.
Tick-tock, tick-tock, the hands of the clock, adorned with photos of the Weasley twins, turn left and right together, inseparable, as if they had never parted.
Ding-a-ling~
The doorbell rang.
George smiled and turned around. "Welcome! How can I help you?"
The mature and elegant Hermione walked in.
“It’s you, Hermione. Ron isn’t here today,” George said, his smile fading slightly.
“I know, I came to find you. Shall we go back to Hogwarts together? Go back and see?” Hermione said softly. “Harry and the others are waiting for us there.”
“No, you go ahead. By the way, is the Ministry of Magic this relaxed now?” George shook his head and said, seemingly letting down his guard a little in front of someone close to him.
“I took a day off. Even I need to rest sometimes, don’t I?” Hermione said, walking around the store. “Why don’t I see any new products? Haven’t you updated them?”
“I’ve used up all the ideas in my notebook.” George’s hands trembled slightly. He had lost the ability to find joy; a prank without joy is soulless.
“Why don’t we go back together and find some inspiration?” Hermione immediately invited.
“No, he and I discussed it together. If Weasley opens the theater, he will never close it for a single day.” George picked up a rag and wiped away the dust and grime from every part of the theater, just like he used to wipe the toilet.
“George! You need to move on! You can’t live in the past forever!” Hermione said, staring intently at George.
“You’ve mistaken me for someone else. I’m not George, I’m…” George looked at the empty space beside him. “Never mind, I’m George, Hermione. You’ve become more authoritative since becoming Minister for Magic.”
Hermione opened her mouth, but couldn't say a word. Yes, no one would ever mistake Fred and George again, and Mrs. Weasley wouldn't have to worry about distinguishing her sons anymore.
“We sincerely hope you can get through this, really.” Hermione took a few steps back. “I’m going to Hogwarts now, we’ll be waiting for you there.”
After watching Hermione leave the Weasleys Trick Room step by step, George slumped back in his chair, looking dejected. "Three months without any new products, Fred. I never thought that one day I would be at a loss for how to play a prank."
Muttering to himself, George took out his wand and tapped it a few times in the air, summoning Patronus.
Nothing happened. The spell, which was perfect from gesture to sound, failed to be cast. As everyone knows, magpies should appear in pairs.
"Fred!!!"
In the teachers' office, George took off his helmet, tossed it aside, and then pounced on his twin brother, quickly removing the helmet from Fred's head and feeling him up and down, as if to confirm that Fred was still alive.
“George, it’s good that your ear is alright.” Fred said softly to George, his eyes filled with tears.
Apart from George and Fred's voices, no one else spoke in the office, nor did anyone ask them to return to the experiment.
McGonagall covered her face with her robe, secretly wiping away the tears from the corners of her eyes. Snape closed his eyes, leaning against the wall, without saying a word.
