If Michelle hadn't mentioned it, she wouldn't have even been able to find the keywords.
"Go on."
Michelle recalled, "After bringing me back from the brink of death, the teacher taught me spells for about a month, and then suddenly disappeared. After that, I learned everything on my own from the spellbook. During that month, the teacher didn't say anything special, but just told me to protect myself and hide myself, because it would be easy for someone to find me."
"By whom?" Zhao Ling'er continued, as this person might be one of the guards Dumbledore is currently facing.
“I don’t know. I asked, but the teacher didn’t say,” Michelle explained. “The teacher said the more I know, the more dangerous it is.”
"Jace, how's the shielding device working?" Zhao Ling'er suddenly asked Jess, who was standing to the side.
“It’s running smoothly, there are no problems.” Jess checked again and replied.
Michelle opened her mouth to continue the conversation, but she didn't really know what to say. She planned to talk about everything, big or small, as long as she remembered it, hoping that some of the key points might be there.
Zhao Ling'er touched Michelle's lips with her finger, then looked up at the ceiling of the secret base, her gaze seemingly able to see the starry sky outside through the ceiling.
After a while, Zhao Ling'er came to her senses and looked at Michelle. "Let's call it a day. I'll take care of some things later, just like Dumbledore did. I'll contact you again if anything comes up."
“Okay.” Michelle closed her eyes slightly.
Then, Michelle felt as if a dreamlike scene was unfolding before her eyes. This scene was so special that she could still feel it even though she didn't open her eyes.
A few seconds later, Michelle fell into a deep sleep.
At the front of the secret base, Peter was still talking to Thor about his special charm, but Peter was definitely overestimating Thor.
It's not something Thor could easily find a few reasonable advantages for Peter over Zhao Ling'er; he can't just say it's because of her young age.
Leaving aside whether Peter would approve, Zhao Ling'er might cause Thor trouble in the future.
Nade yawned. He was a little sleepy. He had encountered too many things today and had been excited for a long time. Now that his emotions had calmed down, sleepiness was creeping in.
After yawning, Nade saw Zhao Ling'er carrying Michelle out and was stunned. What was going on?
“Peter,” Zhao Ling’er called out.
Peter rushed over, then didn't know where to put his limbs. It was the first time he had ever seen Michelle asleep, and Zhao Ling'er looked like she was handing Michelle over to him so he could hold her.
Should I carry her in a princess carry, or be a gentleman and carry her on my back?
Peter's mind was a bit of a mess; his teenage hormones were surging a little too much.
“Take her and your friends back. It’s getting late.” Zhao Ling’er said, turning to look at Nade and his girlfriend. “What happened today must be kept secret. Once you’re out of this door, you can’t even talk to each other.”
“Understood, Madam Headmistress!” Ned replied with a grin.
After the others left, Zhao Ling'er patted Thor on the shoulder, and the two walked out of the secret base and sat outside, establishing a communication channel between them.
Thor: "How's the situation? Have you found Dumbledore or Tony's exact location?"
Zhao Ling'er: "No, but I think Dumbledore's situation might be better than we think."
Thor: "Why?"
Zhao Ling'er stood up. "He's wary of his location being discovered."
Thor nodded, indicating that he understood.
What kind of person would keep their location a secret?
Of course, this applies to people who haven't been taken into custody yet. If Dumbledore were currently in Dracula's hands and had the opportunity to send messages out, all he would need to do is reveal his location.
Regardless of whether revealing it leads to being transferred or something else, at least it will give teammates who are trying to find you a starting point.
Instead of being on guard against something from beginning to end like this.
"Moreover, I suspect that he may have already entered that new world," Zhao Ling'er continued.
"According to Michelle, she should have died in this universe with Thanos' snap, just like Peter. However, Dumbledore changed the choice of the Infinity Stones."
"The ability to easily deflect the Infinity Stones without leaving a trace or almost no trace is something only a legend can do."
"Furthermore, he seems to have foreseen the approximate timeframe of our arrival, which involves a great many legendary professionals. According to the information Artoria provided, the original Dumbledore should not have been able to do this."
"Also, Michelle said she was under Dumbledore's Oblivion Curse, but I found nothing when I checked. This means either she's not telling the truth, or the spellcaster's skill is far superior to mine."
Zhao Ling'er is currently a sub-legendary, and with the Five Elemental Pearls, she is among the top sub-legendary spellcasters. The spellcasters who are far superior to her are most likely only legendary spellcasters.
Thor's heart sank as he listened. The stronger Dumbledore became, the more troublesome the hidden enemies would be.
Dumbledore's refusal to reveal his location, besides suggesting he might have some freedom, also indicates that he believes the first wave of Human Alliance professionals arriving would not be able to find him under the same conditions faster than the enemy.
In other words, while other aspects are uncertain, the guy Dumbledore has been wary of might be far superior to them in terms of speed or finding people.
"So what do you plan to do? Play it safe and wait until you've made contact with Master Heimerdinger before taking the next step?" Thor asked.
“No, we can’t be so passive.” Zhao Ling’er rejected Thor’s suggestion. His suggestion was too conservative. In the current situation, both sides are likely racing against time. How can we so easily give up the initiative?
“I think there must be a reason why Dumbledore chose Michelle. Michelle is very talented in spells, but she is certainly not the best on this earth.”
"So, I plan that you will be in charge of helping Jess establish contact and dealing with the elementals who may appear on Earth, while I will follow Michelle to see if we can find any other clues."
"No problem," Thor answered readily, even though after experiencing so much, Thor was no longer the guy whose brain was only muscles.
However, the inertia of living for two thousand years still exists. If given a choice, Thor would still prefer to do rather than think.
After receiving Thor's prompt reply, Zhao Ling'er gradually faded from Thor's sight.
At this moment, Thor realized that Zhao Ling'er had already left.
With the Five Elemental Pearls present, it's quite difficult for others to sense Zhao Ling'er. Even legendary figures who aren't focused on spellcasting have a hard time, and it's easy to lose sight of the target if they're not careful. This is one of the reasons why Zhao Ling'er chooses to act in secret.
Inside the hotel, the teacher in charge was overjoyed to see Peter and his three companions return; his job was safe!
"It's so good to see the four of you safe and sound," the teacher in charge remarked, but then immediately realized, "Wasn't Michelle in the room? How did she suddenly end up on Peter's back?"
"Teacher, we got lost. Luckily, MJ found us, otherwise we wouldn't know where we were," Ned said first.
"Is she... alright now?" the teacher in charge asked. Michelle should have been criticized for sneaking out, but she not only didn't cause any trouble but also brought her back, so the teacher didn't know what to say.
“It’s nothing, she’s just tired and has fallen asleep,” Peter replied.
"Alright, put her back in her room. Peter, Ned, you two go back to your rooms too. We'll go home tomorrow." The teacher in charge didn't intend to pursue the matter any further; it was best that everything was alright.
Chapter 377 School, it's school again, I really like school.
The next morning, the hotel was already bustling with activity. The television in the lobby was playing the morning news, reporting on the battle between Zhao Ling'er and the elementalists - the water elementals - the previous night.
However, due to Zhao Ling'er's built-in concealment effect and Jess's system intrusion after the battle, the final video was very blurry, and there was basically nothing to see except that one person had taken down the Water Elemental.
"Wow, impressive..." Nade exclaimed from the back of the crowd.
"It's really powerful, but the photos are too blurry; you can't even recognize faces." Michelle squinted, trying to improve the clarity using physical methods.
Of course, this is futile; squinting can only focus the light at best, and it does nothing to improve clarity.
Nader glanced at Michelle. This woman was really good at pretending. She had watched the whole battle up close, but now she was acting like she knew nothing.
There's a saying that's so true: the more beautiful a woman is, the more likely she is to lie.
"Ha~ What are you doing?" Peter yawned and walked into the hall. He had stayed up all night to sort out his experiences of contacting the Avengers heroes, to see if he had let anything slip.
Michelle silently took a step to the side, keeping a distance of one meter from Peter.
Peter paused, a little disappointed. He had thought that after what happened yesterday, he and Michelle should at least be friends, but in terms of social distance, they were still just acquaintances.
"Alright, alright everyone, stop looking, pack your bags, get ready to catch your flight." The teacher in charge clapped his hands and said, while his eyes swept over the heads of the students and counted their numbers.
A dozen minutes later, with the teachers in charge keeping a close watch on them, all the students boarded the bus and headed to the airport.
Zhao Ling'er emerged from the shadows. She had been keeping watch all night but hadn't found anything, not even the suspected attack, let alone any clues.
It seems that if things are to move forward any further, we'll have to wait until we get to New York.
On the way to the airport, Peter was still a little confused.
It felt like Michelle's time had rewound to before they met, so when boarding the plane, Peter managed to switch seats and sit next to Michelle.
Peter pondered for a long time, but he didn't ask the question he wanted to ask until the plane took off.
Whew~ Peter exhaled a couple of breaths, easing the discomfort brought on by takeoff.
Immediately afterwards, Peter looked around and saw Ned winking at him, signaling Peter to continue with part of the plan.
Is it really that difficult to simply change the travel plans from when we boarded the plane to when we arrived?
Ned really couldn't understand this. Peter's brain could even simulate the Big Bang, so how could he be so slow when it came to pursuing girls?
Encouraged by his good friend, Peter turned around, clenched his fists, and sweat was almost overflowing from his hands. Then, Peter looked at Michelle next to him, who was wearing headphones and listening to something, and prepared to start a casual conversation before finding an opportunity to get to the point.
Just then, the plane suddenly shook violently, and the drinks on the seat racks flew up and spilled all over the floor.
Immediately after a second or two of calm, chaos erupted in the cabin. Oxygen masks fell directly from above the seats, and several people who quickly unbuckled their seatbelts were thrown from their seats by the sudden jolt.
ding dong~
"Passengers, the aircraft is currently experiencing severe turbulence..."
Reassuring words came over the intercom, and as the flight attendant continued speaking, the plane gradually returned to normal. Just when Peter thought it was just a normal accident, he suddenly saw a face flash past the cabin window.
Elementals!
Peter tensed up. Encountering an enemy high in the sky was the most dangerous thing ever. He was just a little Spider-Man who couldn't fly!
With that in mind, Peter quickly rummaged through his bag, preparing to take out the backup plan Tony Stark had left him, to see if it could be of any use.
Honestly, Peter hasn't used this thing yet; it's been gathering dust ever since he got it.
But by the time Peter took out his glasses case, the plane had already been flying smoothly forward for a while, which left Peter feeling a little confused.
The other party just showed their face to scare us? The elemental beings aren't that bored... What's the point of just saying hello across worlds and leaving?
Outside the plane, a wind-avoiding array formed on the side of the plane, blocking all the gales blown by the wind monster. The gales and wind blades hit the one-way barrier, so even the array patterns could not be triggered.
Zhao Ling'er stood on the top of the plane, calmly watching the wind monster that kept roaring and chasing the plane. A second later, a bolt of lightning flashed past Zhao Ling'er.
"Leave it to me, you continue leading them."
After Thor finished speaking, he clenched his fist and delivered a powerful punch to the wind monster. The lightning-infused fist sent the wind monster flying.
He had been remotely protecting the aircraft from nearby, but when he noticed the elements starting to move, Thor immediately rushed over.
Watching Thor beat up the enemy, Zhao Ling'er flew further and further away with the plane, her hands behind her back. Water and wind appeared, leaving only earth and fire, but those two probably wouldn't appear at high altitudes.
"What exactly do you want to see?" Michelle asked Peter, who kept leaning out the window, frowning. The distance between them was now less than thirty centimeters; they were practically touching.
