Moreover, almost all the Hufflepuff students drew their wands, which made the large group appear somewhat menacing.
Along the way, students from the other three houses, seeing such a display from Hufflepuff House, were all so frightened that they hurriedly made way for them.
Although they were very curious about what had happened in Hufflepuff, no one dared to follow and find out. However, some students had already run outside, clearly to report to the professor.
Soon, all the Hufflepuff students arrived at the entrance to the common room.
Chapter Twenty-Two: The Hufflepuff Riot
Several senior Hufflepuff students stood at the front of the line, looked at the Hufflepuff common room ahead, exchanged glances, and nodded to each other.
One of them stepped forward, and everyone behind him raised their wands, pointing them toward the direction of the prepared common room.
As the door to the Hufflepuff common room opened, several upperclassmen, wands in hand, rushed in, followed closely by the rest of the Hufflepuff students.
Inside the Hufflepuff common room, Wentworth, Cedric, and the others stared in disbelief as the door opened and countless wand-wielding figures swarmed in.
"So, you were all eating this hot pot, which is why you forgot to go back?"
An older Hufflepuff student looked at the people in the room with disbelief on his face.
Wentworth, Cedric, and the others could only nod blankly.
God knows what it must have felt like for them to be eating hotpot and singing songs when suddenly countless magic wands were pointed at their heads.
Upon realizing they had made a blunder, the Hufflepuff students reluctantly put away their wands and looked curiously at the steaming, smoky cauldron on Wentworth and the others' table.
Then a Hufflepuff prefect stepped forward and angrily said:
"You've gone too far! You've gone too far!"
Seeing this, Green quickly stood up and walked over, seemingly wanting to explain something, but before he could speak, the female prefect stepped past him and sat down in his seat, looking at the cauldron in front of her and saying:
"With such novel and delicious food available, how could you all be eating it all by yourselves?! That's outrageous!"
The scene fell silent for a moment, then erupted into a clamor. Wentworth, Cedric, and the others were suddenly subjected to criticism from the entire Hufflepuff community.
This prompted Wentworth to apologize repeatedly until Green stepped forward:
"Everyone, everyone, listen to me!"
At Hogwarts, the prefects still held considerable authority, and the Hufflepuff common room gradually quieted down.
"Please don't be like that, everyone. After my criticism, Wentworth and Cedric have realized their mistakes. Furthermore, Wentworth promised to ensure that we can all enjoy a hot pot meal. So please stop criticizing him!"
Wentworth stared in shock at Green, who was speaking eloquently. He could only say that Green was indeed a prefect. For someone involved in politics, Machiavellianism was a required course, even for a prefect like Green.
Meanwhile, Green was still directing, saying:
"Everyone, listen to my instructions. A few people go to the kitchen and have the house-elves bring back ten more portions of the same ingredients that were previously sent to Wentworth—no, twenty portions!"
"All freshmen, go and get your own crucibles, make sure they're new and unused! The rest of you, follow Wentworth to learn how to make seasonings. Today, we're having a hot pot party in the common room!"
Wow!
A cheer erupted from the crowd, praising Prefect Green's wise decision.
While Wentworth and the others were preparing for a hotpot party in Hufflepuff's common room, someone had already rushed to Dumbledore's headmaster's room in a panic, and was being tortured to the point of ecstasy by the password.
"Percy, what are you doing here?"
Standing outside the headmaster's room was Percy Weasley, and speaking to him was Madam Hooch, Hogwarts' flying professor.
Percy heard the sound, turned around and saw his flight instructor, and hurriedly said anxiously:
"Professor, I need to speak with the principal!"
Seeing this, Madam Huoqi couldn't help but speak up:
"Percy, Headmaster Dumbledore is hosting a reception in his office today to welcome the new Professor Ilona. All the professors from the schools are here. If you don't have anything particularly important to do, please come later!"
Percy had been wondering why, coincidentally, none of the school's professors showed up for lunch in the auditorium today; now he understood.
Despite this, Percy still shook his head repeatedly and said:
"Professor Huo Qi, this matter is extremely urgent, and I must report it to the principal immediately!"
Seeing this, Mrs. Hodge glanced at Percy, nodded, and said:
"Alright then, come with me!"
Led by Mrs. Hooch, Percy finally entered Dumbledore's office. Soft music was playing in the room, and many professors stood around the newly arrived Professor Ilona, seemingly chatting and laughing from time to time.
Dumbledore stood to the side, watching them quietly, lost in thought.
"Headmaster! Something terrible has happened! The Hufflepuffs have rioted!"
As soon as Percy entered the headmaster's office and saw Dumbledore, he rushed over and shouted.
In an instant, the entire principal's office fell silent, and all the professors looked at the flustered Percy.
"Percy, what did you just say?"
Before Dumbledore could react, Professor McGonagall stepped forward and spoke first.
"I think you should teach Mr. Percy what manners are. A student who does well in school is not necessarily a good student."
Snape glanced sideways at Percy and then spoke.
"Thank you, I'll educate my own students. Percy, what happened?"
Professor McGonagall stepped between Snape and Percy and spoke up.
Percy felt a little nervous seeing so many professors staring at him, but he felt a bit better when Professor McGonagall stood next to him.
"Professor McGonagall, Headmaster Dumbledore, professors, has the Hufflepuff riot broken out?"
Percy's words caused everyone present to frown.
"Hufflepuff? What happened to Hufflepuff?"
Professor Sprout, the headmaster of Hufflepuff, hurriedly came over and asked.
Percy then quickly recounted in detail everything that had just happened in the Great Hall of Hogwarts to all the professors present.
"I always thought that only Gryffindors could do something like this, but I never expected that Hufflepuff would also surprise me."
Snape said irritably from the side.
“No, Headmaster Dumbledore, they are all good children. There must be a story behind what happened that we don’t know.”
Professor Sprout quickly said to Dumbledore.
“Okay, Professor Sprout, I know they are all good kids. How about we go and see what happened? I’m also very curious about who could gather all the students from Hufflepuff School together.”
With that, Professor Dumbledore led Professor Sprout outside, with Professor McGonagall following closely behind.
"I'll go take a look too, and see if I can be of any help!"
Ilona followed after him as she spoke.
Seeing this, all the professors followed behind and walked out, including Snape.
Chapter Twenty-Three: Snape's Wrath
Soon, led by Headmaster Dumbledore, everyone arrived outside the Hufflepuff common room. Dumbledore was expressionless, Professor Sprout looked nervous, and Ilona was full of curiosity.
When Dumbledore opened the door to the Hufflepuff common room, a huge commotion reached everyone's ears.
"Wentworth, you're such a clever little devil, how did you come up with that?"
"Wentworth, as a fellow Hufflepuff freshman this year, I would call you the strongest!"
"Wentworth, you said you can make a lot of Muggle food?"
"Yes, senior, if I had known it would turn out like this, I would have made dumplings!"
Hearing Wentworth's voice and listening to the conversation inside, Ilona's lips curled up slightly outside the door.
"Dumplings? Are they really that delicious? How about coming to my dorm tonight...?"
"Cough cough!"
Upon hearing this, Dumbledore and Ilona coughed simultaneously. Dumbledore glanced at Ilona, said nothing more, and turned to walk into Hufflepuff's common room.
When Dumbledore and the professors appeared in Hufflepuff's common room, the once bustling room instantly fell silent.
Everyone was holding a small bowl, their mouths stuffed with meat, staring blankly in the direction of the entrance. Some of them even had bulging cheeks, looking just like groundhogs.
"What have you guys done?!"
The first to break the silence was not Hogwarts' headmaster Dumbledore, but rather Hogwarts' Potions professor Snape.
Snape rushed into the middle of the students and saw them sitting around cauldrons. However, the cauldrons were not boiling with potions, but with meat slices, lettuce, potatoes and other ingredients. No two cauldrons had the same contents.
Snape's gaze swept over the cauldrons, his anger rising steadily. His already gloomy face was now almost dripping with water.
"These cauldrons are essential tools for your future Potions classes. For an apothecary, a cauldron is an indispensable friend! And you're using them to cook?!"
"Who came up with this idea? Tell me!"
Snape said angrily. Although every time Snape's gaze swept across the face of a Hufflepuff student, the student would immediately lower his head, no one ever stood up to say who was the one who started all of this.
Wentworth had originally intended to raise his hand. After all, although these Hufflepuff students feared Snape like the plague, Wentworth knew that Snape was not actually a dark person at heart.
However, just as Wentworth was about to raise his hand, Cedric grabbed it. Wentworth looked at Cedric and saw him gently shake his head.
Although the movements were very stealthy, how could they possibly escape Snape's notice? After all, Snape's combat prowess was among the best, even among the Death Eaters.
Snape turned his gaze toward Wentworth, slowly walked over, and began to speak:
“If anyone steps forward now and admits what they have done, then I will only punish them. If no one admits it, then I will have to punish the entire Hufflepuff!”
Upon hearing this, Wentworth gave a wry smile and slowly raised his other hand.
But before he could even lift half of it, his other hand was grabbed. Wentworth turned around and saw Kirk, the Hufflepuff prefect.
Kirk's action made Snape laugh in exasperation.
"Mr. Wentworth, is there anything you wish to say?"
