"You're blocking my way!"

Cassandra looked at Wentworth and said with a frown.

Wentworth looked down at the spacious corridor and scratched his head. If it were just him, he probably wouldn't argue with Cassandrado and would just let the ladies go first.

But now, with so many Hufflepuff classmates following behind him, if he were to give way, it would be tantamount to Hufflepuff making way for Slytherin, something Wentworth, who had truly come to regard him as a Hufflepuff, could not accept.

"Cassandra, the hallway is so spacious, let's go together!"

Cassandra, however, curled her lip in disdain and said:

"You've got a good idea!"

Just as the two sides were locked in a stalemate, a large number of footsteps came from the corridor behind them. Wentworth and Cassandra looked back at the same time, and Cassandra's face quickly turned ugly.

"Commander Kirk, what's going on here?"

Wentworth looked on with delight as Kirk led a group of Hufflepuff upperclassmen toward him and asked curiously.

Kirk, however, gave Wentworth a hug first, then subtly blocked Cassandra and the others' path before saying:

"Of course I'm here to cheer you on!"

"Give me some encouragement?"

Wentworth looked puzzled.

“That’s right. Don’t forget, Snape is also our Potions teacher. I’ve been taking his classes for five years, so I know his style very well.”

"I came here to remind you to be mentally prepared. No matter how much he mocks you, just listen and don't take it to heart! Also, if he deducts points from Hufflepuff, don't worry about it. We're used to it anyway, so don't feel pressured!"

As Kirk continued to give him instructions, Wentworth felt a warm current flow through his heart.

Then, escorted by many Hufflepuff upperclassmen and surrounded by all the new Hufflepuff students, Wentworth was the first to enter Snape's Potions classroom.

However, as Wentworth was about to enter the classroom, he glanced back at Kirk and the others behind him. Everyone was staring at him, giving Wentworth the illusion that he was walking to his execution.

After Wentworth and the others were seated, Kirk and the others left, and the new Slytherin students, led by Cassandra, entered the classroom.

Cassandra looked extremely unpleasant and walked straight to the opposite side of Wentworth, where she sat down.

"Wentworth, it seems I underestimated you. You actually managed to get so many upperclassmen to stand up for you! But I'll prove to you who the best freshman is right here and now!"

Upon hearing Cassandra's words, Wentworth knew she had misunderstood him. He was about to explain that Kirk and the others hadn't come on their own when a deep voice came from the classroom entrance.

"Looks like you guys are a bit better than those Gryffindor idiots from this morning; at least none of you have any fools who can't find their classrooms!"

"I hope your IQs are a bit higher than theirs, so you don't waste my potion!"

Wentworth turned around and saw Snape standing at the door of the Potions classroom, looking at him as well!

Chapter Twenty-Six: The First Potions Lesson

Then, Snape walked step by step up to the podium. Along the way, whenever Snape passed a window, he would gently wave his hand, and the curtains would automatically fall down, making the Potions classroom even darker.

This scene, however, fully demonstrated Snape's strength; casting spells without a staff and silently is something that most Aurors cannot do.

After Snape stood on the podium, his gaze swept across the entire classroom before he began to speak:

"Why are you all looking at me? Look at your tables!"

A single angry shout startled all the students in the classroom, causing them to lower their heads, including the Slytherin students.

"On each of your tables, there is a stone on the corner. The first question is, what is this stone?"

As soon as Snape finished speaking, Wentworth noticed that Cassandra, who was not far from him, suddenly raised her hand.

Snape slowly walked to Cassandra's side. Just as Wentworth was carefully examining the stone in front of him, Snape suddenly turned to Wentworth and said:

"Wentworth, you answer this: what is this stone?"

Wentworth gave a wry smile, thinking to himself: Snape, your revenge is so blatant. It's a pity I don't have the eyes you like.

But Wentworth slowly stood up and answered:

“Professor Snape, this is a dung bead.”

Snape went on to say:

What is the use of this stone?

"The dung bezoars are taken from the sheep's stomach, and they have a very good detoxifying effect!"

Upon hearing Wentworth's reply, Snape said noncommittally:

"Sit down!"

After sitting down at Wentworth, Snape walked toward the podium, saying:

"The dung stones in front of you were prepared in advance. If any of you have a bad idea and smear those poisonous things on your body, but then regret it, you can use them to detoxify yourself. Don't worry, I have plenty of these dung stones. You can experiment on yourselves as much as you like!"

Then Snape walked back to the podium, knocked on the table, and said loudly:

"Why are you all looking down? Look up at me!"

Then, with a "whoosh," all the students in the classroom raised their heads again.

Snape then produced a vial of potion and said:

"This is the water of life and death. Does anyone know what its purpose is?"

As soon as Snape finished speaking, Cassandra, who was not far from Wentworth, raised her hand again, but Wentworth noticed that Snape only glanced at Cassandra before turning his gaze back to himself.

"Wentworth, you tell me, what is the purpose of the Water of Life and Death!"

As Wentworth had predicted, Snape called out his own name.

Fortunately, thanks to Cedric's cramming last night, and knowing that the Water of Life and Death was a required subject for first-year students, Wentworth stood up and answered:

"The Water of Life and Death is a powerful sleeping pill, Professor Snape."

"Looks like you're not too stupid."

Snape said expressionlessly, then waved for Wentworth to sit down.

After Wentworth sat down, he felt a burning gaze. Following the gaze, he saw Cassandra staring at him fiercely, seemingly resenting him for stealing her thunder.

Wentworth could only shrug helplessly, indicating that he didn't want to either!

But in Cassandra's view, Wentworth's smirk and shrug was an unspeakable provocation!

"Are you two exchanging glances during class?!"

Suddenly, Snape's voice rang in their ears at the same time. When they turned around, they found that Snape had been standing next to them at some point.

Wentworth thought to himself, "Oh no!" This old bat in front of him couldn't stand seeing boys and girls interacting on campus!

Sure enough, Snape said without any politeness:

"Hufflepuff and Slytherin, five points each!"

Wentworth knew that Snape must be furious that he was deducting points from Slytherin's score!

Snape then took out the Water of Life and Death again and asked:

"Can anyone tell me what the two most important ingredients in the recipe for the Water of Life and Death are?"

Wentworth, with his head down, noticed out of the corner of his eye that Cassandra seemed to want to raise her hand again, but hesitated for a moment, perhaps because she had just been criticized. Cassandra raised her hand halfway and then lowered it again.

"Cassandra, you answer!"

Surprisingly, Snape this time specifically mentioned Cassandra's name.

Upon hearing her name, Cassandra was taken aback for a moment, then immediately stood up and said:

"It's powdered sage root and wormwood infusion, Professor Snape!"

Upon hearing Cassandra's answer, Snape nodded, gestured for her to sit down, and then said:

"A perfect answer, Slytherin, ten points!"

Wentworth was speechless. He finally understood Harry Potter's feelings in the original story. Even though Wentworth knew that Snape was not a bad person, and he had even been deeply moved by Snape's story, he couldn't help but feel dissatisfied with him at this moment.

But no matter how unhappy Wentworth was, he could only sit obediently in his seat and listen to Snape stand on the podium and explain to everyone how to make the Water of Life and Death.

Suddenly, Wentworth noticed a pile of old books not far from the Potions class podium. Being very familiar with the original work, Wentworth suddenly thought of a scene from the book and his heart skipped a beat.

So, as get out of class was about to end, Wentworth seized the opportunity and quietly tore a few pages out of his textbook.

Although the potion of life and death is very powerful, it is not difficult to make, which is why it is the introductory course for potions. However, even so, many new students still failed to make it by the end of the class.

Fortunately, Wentworth, who had received intensive training from Cedric the night before, successfully created the Water of Life and Death. Seeing Wentworth's success, Snape, who had been circling around Hufflepuff, went back to the podium and sat down, never to rise again.

Finally, amidst Snape's sarcastic remarks, the Hufflepuff freshmen ended their first Potions class with long faces.

Just as everyone was leaving the classroom, Wentworth, carrying his textbook, walked up to Snape.

"What, are you already so eager to start the training I've prepared for you?"

When Snape saw Wentworth approaching, a hint of surprise flashed in his eyes, and he casually spoke.

"Professor Snape, the textbook I bought is missing a few pages for some reason, so I was wondering if you have any used textbooks here."

After hearing Wentworth's answer, Snape glanced at Wentworth's textbook and said sarcastically:

Even trolls know to check their weapons before leaving the house! They go there and pick out a weapon themselves!

Snape pointed to a pile of old books not far away and said.

Chapter Twenty-Seven: Cassandra's Angry Demeanor

After thanking Snape, Wentworth went to the pile of old books and began to search carefully. Soon, Wentworth's eyes lit up, and he picked up an old textbook and walked up to Snape:

"Professor Snape, I'll take this one."

Snape said without looking up:

"I hope you won't damage this book too. Remember to come find me after dinner!"

Wentworth readily agreed and then jogged out of the Potions classroom.
